One of the best LIGHTSCRIBE CD/DVD burner on the market. Rock solid. Cannot complain. THIS IS MY SECOND IDENTICAL DRIVE. One per PC. LG makes real good hardware. The software is good. I did not install all the "parts" - for example I dont need the BACKUP program. The CD/DVD writing software is good. I use "CDBurnerXP" ; but that is a personnal choice. |

This is an awesome drive which is very fast and it has lightscribe! It burns DVD's and CD's very fast and it's very quiet. Images burnt on dvd and/or cd look nice and crisp. |

I've had no trouble whatsoever with this drive, and that's the way it should be. It burns fine, does light scribe labels fine (I always turn off the default shadow on the fonts, for better readability). I'd buy another one for sure. |

Installing this puppy in a Mac Pro (early 2008)was a piece of cake. Running the eSata cable was more of a challenge, as the heatsink cover and the fan assembly had to be removed to access the internal eSata jacks. Plus running the cable from the optical drive to the motherboard is a tight fit. It was hard to find any documentation on installing an eSata optical drive. In the end it was a perfect installation, but the installation took a couple of days while I dug for info. The burner itself is a great deal and very fast. The LightScribe feature has fabulous results but is very slow, about 10 minutes to burn a disk with a few lines of text and a JPG graphic. But now that I have two DVDr I can burn one while I write the label on the other. |

I have had this drive for about a year and i have never had an issue with it. Burns and reads all of my CDs and DVDs. Fast drive, and quiet when not reading at 52x. |

Got two (2) of these for my system and friend. I highly recommend it because it is one of the best due to its price and reliability. I have read reviews with comparisons to the DVD+-RW Samsung drive and the LG is better in performance. it includes software that is a bit outdated and not fully supported by Windows 7. Also if you get an old firmware drive, you might get some type of spyware application but the new firmware removes it (plus when you install the applications, the firmware update can easily update it for you). Lastly, it is much smaller (shorter) than my old LG drive (which is like 5 years old). |

I got two same drives install windows with it worked great. then the computer blue screen. I unhooked the lg drives and it runs great. I think it's a firmware problem but im not sure. I went back to liteon.and the blue screen stopped. I think LG needs to work on there firmware. |

Great drive, quiet compared to my old IDE DVD drive. Comes with bundled software, and the price is right. The only thing I noticed, in Vista 64bit, the drive would give me an autoplay (BlueBird program) annoyance every time the drive was closed, even if it had no disk in it. If you search LG's site you can find a fix for it. |

I Have used this product for 2 weeks and have no problems generally. The only thing bad is a adware program called Bluebird.exe that comes on the enclosed disc. LG offers a removal fix at their site. Other than that I love it. |

I purchased this DVD player/Lightscibe as a replacement for an externat one that I have had for a couple years now. It's only job is to perform Lightscribe functions on DVDs that I make. So far, I have wasted several Lightscribe DVD blanks tryingt o make a good one. The best I have done is it stopping with an error about 5 minutes into it. Dont buy this one...Mine will be going back tonight |
This a really great drive for the price. I have actually maxed this drive out f 16.60x while Burning a DVD. It is a very silent drive and disc closing E.T.C is quick. I will be purchasing more of these.
