I was looking for a low price DVD burner to use at work. This one was the lowest price I could find. I also needed an older IDE drive so this was it. I installed it quickly with no need to use the install disk. It works great and its fast for my purpose. I would recomend this to anyone looking for a low price IDE DVD burner.

This thing doesn't work!!!! It won't even run the setup disk that came with it. It is a complete ripoff if I ever saw one.

I bought this drive for a new pc I was building. It was easy to install even without software which it didn't include and no cables. I always keep the cables from new drives even if I don't use them just in case. I have had this drive for about a month and it had perfomed perfectly. Good value for the price.

My old drive died without warning. I have had good luck with LGs and found this drive. It took me longer to take my computer apart and make the install than it took me to have it running and copying. Have used many times and it works great.

Easy to install and works just great. My only problem was the software that came with it. It's a little confusing to start with vague help instructions. Every time you start one of the programs, you immediately get an advertisement to upgrade. You have to close this ad before you can proceed with your work. Once should be enough. On the other hand, once you figure it out, the software does give lots of options and really makes using the burner easy. The burner itself is speedy and accurate. I've used it to burn video without a single glitch. Much better than my old one!

Pros: Can't beat the price EIDE interface so it frees up a SATA channel This is a Dual Layer drive. I couldn't figure out what the actual specs where anywhere until I plugged it in and tried it, but it definently is a DUAL LAYER capable drive up to 22x. Cons: nothing really. Keep in mind this is an OEM type package so there is no software or cables included with it.

I purchased several different of LG dvdram drives as OEM equipment. They are fine until you need thier customer service a co. called Cybexxxk has that distintion, it took me 4 seperate tries to get any action and that was just for firmware. The lightscr funtion was deliberetly disabled through thier firmware update along with Yo Ca so you would have to purchase the new firmware from Cyxxxlink. To me that spells scam, first the firware update does not allow you to see what's being updated but can be seen through update logs in windows xp, several of the update logs are blatenly called dummy.txt and so forth. I once again gave Cybxxxxnk to make the firmware correct however they ignored me totaly. I also told them if they could not help me what chance did my customers have? They have left me with no choice but to make a voulentary recall on every computer I have sold through out the U.S. and I would personally replace evey drive at my own expense. Marshall Morris
