Came quick as usually From Newegg. I got a bad 1, it made much more noise than my dish washer! it wouldn't set up my OS on my new rig so I pulled one of the other LG DVD burners I have from an additional machine, which works fantastic to get the job accomplished. I sent it back for a RMA which price me ten.00 bucks in return fees for a 20.00 defective solution. I don't see much equity in this deal, so be careful what you order.

Mechanically, it seems solid. Being an LG, it can run smooth and fast. Houston, we have a issue. I have owned two of these drives for below a year. At about the identical time, they both began reading substantially slower and emit a grinding noise when attempting to study a Pc game installation disc. In fact, on some disks, they fail to read at all. This undoubtedly was a surprise considering the reputation LG has. A call to the customer help line made no answer whatsoever. An try to reach a representative by way of Reside Chat did yield constructive final results. A permanent option is however to be verified. The chat representative was most beneficial in delivering the links for the on the net downloads needed to resolve this challenge. I would advise that any individual searching to acquire a drive of this sort could be better served with P*****r or L****n. Drive cautiously ;-)

LG brand. Quick drive. only four months old. Confirm burn fails on normal disks, (of various manufacture), about 20% of time using ImgBurn v. 2.five.five., et. al.D/L disks, (of numerous manufacture), fail to burn adequately about 70% of the time.In use on system, running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit SP1, on Intel Xeon Quad Core CPU W3580 @ 3.33GHz w/ 8. GB ECC RAM, and NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500. Maybe a 4MB buffer, larger-end LG drive could operate far better?

Not substantially I can really say here, it works as advertised. Price made the selection a no brainer. LG tends to make nice drives "overall", I have bought about eight of them in the final 4 years and all are nonetheless operating strong. Louder than my prior LG upon "open" n "close", sounds like 1 of these old IDE drives but due to the fact I hardly ever open or close it we can classify this "con" as nitpicking considering that I payed below 20.00$ shipped. Good bang for buck, excellent brand. No complaints.Came with LG burning tools/Power DVD/Power2Go/Power Producer/Label print/YouCam.three Free of charge Shipping and I got it in 2 days ࿔Hrs to be particular).

Price tag It loaded up Windows 7 fine, but as soon as Windows 7 was loaded it wouldn't read any other disc Bought two of these and each had the similar problem, I even upgraded the Firmware and they nevertheless they wouldn't function in Windows 7 environment. Not certain if I just got a bad batch of drives or what.

Excellent speed and functionality A small loud, Firmware update software keeps triggering UAC in Windows 7, No mounting Screws Performs like a champ, bundled computer software is great, No mounting screws came with it but this is not a enormous situation given that most instances come with lots. It is a tiny loud when it spins up but is not overly bothersome. Great drive for the cost with lightscribe capability.

Low-cost price ย, multi format help, sata connection. brand, recomend for the price none yet i have only burned a couple disks, appears like most drives commence off slow and then perform up on speed. doesnt appear any quicker then my five year old IDE DVD burner mine came with computer software which i didnt even appear at, updated the firmwatre which was super uncomplicated, surprised me that they showed the model on there web site with a firmware update.

Does what it's supposed to do. DVD playback and burning are all comparatively smooth. No issues at all genuinely. Quieter than some, but nonetheless somewhat loud when it's running full board. Not worth docking an egg though due to the fact this truly isn't an exception for ODDs. Fantastic price for a low-cost construct.

Write and study speeds aren't unbearable This drive is LOUD. Really LOUD. It's fairly scary essentially.Although most DVD readers/writers can get loud in the sense of one particular loud "swwiish" this issue "tiks" like crazy extremely loud. It sounds like the lens is hitting the disc; but when I check the discs they don't appear to have been damaged. It could be that I just got a defectively loud item but I doubt it, since every little thing seems to work, albeit sub-par It's also not as rapid as my 4-year-old IDE DVD drive in spite of speeds becoming rated substantially higher! I got this to replace an IDE DVD drive and I'm feeling like I need to just reconnect my IDE drive;

What a world of distinction compared to my final DVDRW. My old drive applied to make a seriously loud spinning noise as soon as you place a disc in, this one particular is so quiet I can barely hear it spin. If it wasn't for the blinking green light I wouldn't even know it was on. None so far.

This drive is extremely fast. I've owned a lot of DVD burners more than the years and none of them had been as loud as this issue. When I burned my initial disk I was shocked at the howl this thing offers. It sounds like a high speed exhaust fan. The tray also seems a bit flimsy and has a low cost really feel to it when you open and close the drive. If you don't mind the noise it's a decent burner. The included software is useless. The version of PowerDVD that comes with it is neutered and keeps opening up a window asking you to upgrade; for $$ of course.

OEM version. Functions quite nicely. Price tag. Effectively... Writing is type of loud. Louder than other drives I have had. I doesn't annoy me but I don't like it. Reading is fantastic. Previously I had Asus for backup recording, somewhat it died right after 2 years.

It is quiet. Additional quiet than my Lenovo & Plextor Burners at the similar speed. I do alot of image burning and place the drive via a real grind the first day. It does as spec'ed in access time and is swift for DVD+R, and other +R disks. Nevertheless, it does not perform properly in comparison with -RW's. My Lenovo & Plextor at the very same speeds writes more rapidly. All round, I think this is a excellent drive & value. None.
