I haven't used this device much, but hey, it can always be useful to have a DVD drive on hand, even in this Network Age.It was dirt cheap when I got it, at 15$. The noise doesn't bother me that much, but someone who rents DVDs would find it unbeareable. |

Great price is the biggest feature for me, since it's very rare I use my optical drives besides installing the OS. At $20 on sale this drive did it's job very well. |

Not much to say. Typical DVD writer that do the job as intended but not realy better than any others drives. Regular price is about 24$ on NCIX, but most of the time they are around 15-18$. |

It's a DVD reader/writer, they are all the same.Try to find it on sale for half price. I think they should remove some of the annoying branding on the front and then it would look better.It loses one star for being noisy and not all black. |

For $9.99 it was decent enough to be used as a dvd drive. Needed one in order to do a fresh install of windows, could have always gone with the usb route but figured would need to use a cd drive in the future just in case. Has good write speeds but would have been better if it would write at lower speeds. |

Pros: I've been putting these in builds, they read fast, smooth tray movement, great DVD player. LG is a very good brand and they do good quality control. Comment:
for $17 you cant go wrong, compares head to head with the $25+ asus ones, so dont waste the money! |

It's a DVD burner. It does what it has to do. How long will it last ? At this price, you probably get what you pay for. Nowadays, DVD drive are getting almost as useless as a floppy reader. You only use them to install software, and that's about it. |

Bought this to replace an IDE burner when the motherboard in my new build didn't support the interface. Works just fine. I wish that Bluray burners would come down to under $40. |

Let's my customers plays dvd's. Does it's job and that's about it. Kind of noisy but no better or worse than the others out there. Physical media is a dead end but these things are still needed by the average computer user so this is fine. |

got this at cyber monday for 10$. Works as expected. easy to setup. Just plug in all cable, turn on PC, go in windows and the drive was detected by windows 7 no problem. it read DVD, music CD without problem. For 10$ is really a good deal! If you looking for a replacement DVD burner, maybe wait for xmas...maybe will have another super bargain on this drive. |

Got these on sale. Never had a problem with LG drives. This one is great because it's SATA. No need for fat IDE Cables! I found this drive actually very quite as well so that is a plus! |

Tested the drive seem to work fine. Nice matte black finish. Sturdy well constructed. Would recommend as of so far. I had a few LG drives before and never had any problems with them.
