Man ... I Appreciate how substantially more exciting Windows Media Center is now that I have this remote and can use my Tv tuner with it! I now have my personal DVR! Plus it controls anything else in WMC, as well! My music, photographs, on the net media, recorded videos, my DVD's .. XM radio .. and almost everything else inside Media Center! The remote looks sleek, it's got each and every button you could possibly require, and it performs like a dream. Adjustments channels rapid and now I don't have to be AT the personal computer to record, pause, FF, and so on any longer! Love IT! Did I mention that it functions Quickly? I do have a slight delay only when changing Television stations but that's only since it has to relay the commands from the IR blaster to the satellite receiver. It's not also slow tho. I'm really impatient and it dosen't take extended adequate to annoy me, so that's saying some thing! What's not to like? It took me a few minutes to get it set up and to figure out how to get the remote to manage my satellite set best box. As soon as I figured that out even though .. no problems! The crucial aspect - I couldn't figure out why anything was operating with the remote except for the truth that I couldn't get it to change Television stations/finish setting up my Television tuner in WMC. Properly, I ultimately moved the small IR blaster (tiny little device with the small cord) Appropriate in front of the Satellite set top rated box remote sensor. Once I figured that out and pointed the black side at the sensor .. when I'd transform the channel the light would flash red .. and that's it! Finished the setup and everything worked perfectly! So yeah, you've got to position the lil device in the right spot! That's all! So if you have a satellite receiver and want a media center remote .. get THIS a single. This is the only a single on Newegg that I know of with the small IR signal relay that you require to make the remote work with your satellite receiver. I can guarantee you'll be content with this remote. Personally? I can't place the remote down! Television is entertaining again! =) Oh and I use the Win7 RC. It functions fine, so don't be concerned.

It functions completely with Vista Home Premium 32bit, looks far better than the Microsoft remote, the reciever is pretty modest and the blaster cable is extended. A tiny inexpensive feeling, but nothing I'm concerned about. Also many buttons. I want it had a button that would close the media center in addition to/instead of placing the personal computer to sleep. I'm not sure what some of the buttons do. I could probably apply myself and figure out what all the unkown buttons do, but the remote performs just fine for me so no large deal there. Would like to have a way to mount it to the inside of a drive bay, but for the price tag I can live with it sitting on my desk.

Works flawlessly with Windows Vista and 7 Media Center/Media player.Swift access buttons for Radio, Music, Video, and Images.Works with iTunes when it's in the foreground. Can use it to scroll by means of documents in word.2 IR sensor plugs. Mini IR sensor stopped operating. I bought this distinct remote since it had all the possibilities I was searching for. Buttons, layout, shape, and colour have been a match for me. I was so delighted with it that I purchased a second 1 for my buddy. The only difficulties that we've run into are that each of the mini IR sensors didn't final very long. A couple months use proved to considerably for them. It's not a massive deal simply because the primary unit itself has a constructed in one. Absolutely worth the investment.

Purchased this to replace an old serial port based IRMan IR receiver. This is much a lot more responsive. Functions excellent with LIRC and XBMC on Linux. A speedy reconfigure of the lirc config files and I was up and running. The USB cable that comes with it could be considered a small quick. At 3 feet, it *just* makes to exactly where I want it in the A/V rack

Works quite much out of the box with ubuntu/lirc/mythtv, with the mceusb driver. There are generic msusb config to be had, but you'll want to produce your personal config file if you want to take benefit of all of the buttons. Not at all the remotes fault. I wasn't conscious of the interference plasma displays can result in with IR Receivers. Sure sufficient, my television made it go batty till I applied about 6 strips of masking tape over the receiver window. Works great now.

Type the PID and VID in irbus.inf4. Update the device driver utilizing the new irbus.inffive. Use HIP Byremote to map each key

stylish, functional, involves IR flasher for cable box, second flasher can be effortlessly added. some buttons on the little side. This remote is a great value for the money. You get an IR receiver with an IR flasher and a jack for a different 1. The general encounter with Windows Media Center is pretty seamless. Plug in, go by means of the setup measures in WMC and it works. In mixture with a Hauppage dual tuner card it's a confident way to a satisfying HTPC setup. I applied it with Gigabyte GA350N mini ITX board and Windows 7 House Premium. Windows installed the drivers and it worked the first time.

Has lots of buttons. In the newegg description it says, "Power: your Media Center Computer and / or Tv with our remote manage" which is quite missleading. It does not power your Television, and the box has no indication that it is a programmable remote for something but your computer. I bot this as a gift for my brother and the reciever for the pc was also a dud. He specifically wanted one particular that would energy on and off his television. I can't get a refund for this solution either, only get a replacement.

Does what I expected it to do, and nothing at all less. Even a lot more, essentially. I'm working with only the IR receiver with my Harmony 676, and it functions like a charm. It even controls other applications than WMC, such as MPC-HC. Most of the issues I've had with this can almost certainly be blamed on Logitech's item issues. So none genuinely... Except that the constructed-in IR blaster is useless out of the box so far as I can inform. I have no use for it, though, so it doesn't bother me. I've noticed someone complain about how this remote will power on/off and handle your Xbox 360. That annoyed me at initially, also, until I realized that you can tell your 360 to ignore commands from a WMC remote (by default, the 360 listens to each the 360 remote and WMC remotes). Verify your 360 system's settings. It's quite straightforward to uncover. And of course, it will nevertheless function with a typical 360 IR remote right after producing this alter.

Good ergo shape. Lots of buttons. IR (a really very big plus). Worked definitely wonderful by way of basic media center functions in Vista. Challenge is, I don't like media center, I like Xbox Media Center. Directional keys worked out of the box in XBMC.Download EventGhost and unlock this remote's accurate prospective. I have been able to reprogram actually just about every single key on the remote utilizing EG and can now manage a complete array of programs making use of this controller. Plus with it becoming IR, I have even programmed some unused buttons on my Tv's factory remote to perform operations in XBMC. This is certainly worth the couple of bucks extra more than the RF model. No/poor documentation I'm running Windows 7 Build 7100 with Eventghost and it functions perfectly. Haven't tested it, but I feel it'll even operate in XP or Linux with Eventghost, so Vista might not be needed. Just will need a driver for the IR receiver.

Wow, did I just turn on my pc with a remote? Superb experience. Every thing's there. I taught my dad to use it -- becoming capable to enter A-Z plus unique characters is wonderful for looking through hundreds of gigabytes of songs, albums, what ever. I haven't run into any. It's not for browsing the net or anything. No built in mouse may be an concern for some -- not for me. It's brilliant.

Good remote, great really feel, strong create, affordable. Only works with Media Center on Vista and Win7. I *assume* it would work on XP MCE as properly, but I dunno. I could not get it to work in standard XP to run XBMC, but I upgraded to Win7 and it operates excellent. Very easily produced to run below XBMC, Windows Media Player Classic, and VLC, as well. Just don't bother if you need it for XP, no drivers anyplace.

It appears nice. Good variety. Apparently can work with other devices (eg. Tv/DVD/etc.) as effectively, but I haven't tried.Plug it in and it performs as advertised in Vista and Windows 7. It does what it says it will do. Buttons aren't configurable without using some thing like EventGhost. I didn't bother so I'm just utilizing it with Windows Media Center on my Vistaǝ machines. It's advertised as a Media Center Remote anyway, so that was to be expected. Can't take an egg off there. To get it operating in Ubuntu, I had to set up lirc. it's in the repository, so just use the package manager or aptitude/apt-get. Immediately after that just run "irw" at the command line and you'll see that all the buttons are recognized as you press them. I personally use XBMC and aside from the Media Center button becoming useless, it works fairly much flawlessly. I can't take an egg off for the lack of immediate compatibility in Linux because A) It's not advertised as being compatible and B) getting it working is quite trivial.

This is a good feeling remote at least compared to other Media Center remotes. Its not a Universal remote. If you truly want a good remote and don't have 15 various issues to manage this remote is great for just media center.

This remote does every little thing that I had ever hoped it would do, proper out of the box had definitely no troubles with set up, connected it, set up the IR blaster and now I can manage my satellite box by way of MCE. None to speak of, this thing is a dream. If you don't already have this remote, you really should truly look at acquiring one, I would advise this remote to any person that was needing an MCE remote.

Sleek, fairly, not ugly or bulky like most remotes I saw. Mythbuntu had a configuration for this sort of remote currently and all the buttons mapped correctly the very first time. Incredibly responsive as well... I haven't detected any lag. No button backlight, Only 1 button was not detected by Mythbuntu, the 'Zoom' button. It will most likely work with a new linux driver release. Not a major deal. If this remote functions as nicely as it does on a Linux distribution, I'm positive it function even better on Windows.

Worked great for more than a year, I didn't have a need for the ir blaster. Used for Hulu Desktop, Windows Media Center 7, XBMC in Ubuntu Linux/Windows and Boxee. I have utilized it with just about almost everything and seemed to be good. This is just common of products these days...go 2 months previous the 1 year warranty date and stop working. I believed I had found a decent remote here at a great value. I will by no means obtain an additional solution from AVS/Anyware once more. I really should have purchased a Harmony instead but no be concerned...one is on the way Did the usual troubleshooting, checked batteries, replaced the USB cable to the receiver, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and absolutely nothing worked. Makes a good target at 200 yards with my AR15.

You can completely manage Vista Media Center (like it's designed to) After you leave VMC, you're going to go back to your keybard/mouse to use something else... Vista was type sufficient to disable all the mods that have been around for XP MCE that allowed you to adjust from mouse mode to MCE mode =( Purchased for HTPC make.

Light weight, good button layout, and nice aesthetics. Well created MCE remote. Works good with XBMC 10 as lengthy as you use the MCE remote plugin. Responsive and the receiver functions properly. This is not the fault of the remote, but it isn't customizable without having hacking. Thankfully the MCE Remote plugin for XBMC takes out a lot of the guess work. If you are working with it for a thing other than Windows Media Center you will most likely have to do some registry edits to get it operating the you want, but when it is setup it functions very properly.
