I needed to get my hands on a graphics card with a 256-bit interface to play Lord of the Rings Online and this one has fit the proverbial bill. (I was pushing my older graphics card playing that game with it) It outperforms my old one. Better graphics and a cleaner picture. This GPU is my third XFX purchase and I am quite pleased with the quality I have seen in their products.

Great card, fairly cheap, includes a free game and it looks nice. XFX makes decent priced cards that look great. I am using it with 3D vision and can run everything on maxed with no issues. The biggest plus was that I only had 1 6pin power cable from my PSU, and that's all this takes compared to the other 2 6pin cards.

I am impressed with this graphics card. It handles any game that I have perfectly. Played Mass Effect 2 on it smoothly at max settings, and didn't notice any hickups. It does run pretty warm, I do recommend having a nice case that has good air flow. It does everything that I wanted and expected 100 times over.

Cons: Uses a lot more power than the 8800GT/9800GT, without much gain in performance.

Pros: Runs reasonably coolPrice on saleFan is reasonably quiet
Comment:
I bought this card on sale, wouldn't have bought it otherwise, beacuse I was looking for cheap a card with a dual slot cooler. Performance isn't much better than a stock 8800GT when it come to Foldingvhome, but I have seen better overall performance in some games. I wouldn't recommend upgrading to this card from an 8800GT, unless you have a single slot version and you find that it makes your system run hotter than you like. Considering the minimal gain in performance, and the higher demand on your PSU, I'd say stick with your 8800GT if you have one.

Cons: Graphically weak

Pros: Easy to install
Comment:
I know this is a ~9800GTX+, but I was happy to see how much easier this installed. Put it in a coworker's PC, and it was a breeze over my bulky 9800GTX+ OC. Ran just as nicely though, and with a little less PSU draw!

Cons: None?

Pros: XFX Warranty :)QuietGreat price atm.
Comment:
Go this to use in a clients build but never done any bench marks tho. Anyhow the card installed as it should and I find it fairly quiet once the OS loads.Set it up in a Sonata III case and it fit fine leaving just enough room for a 120mm fan at the back of it.

bought this card on tuesday got it on friday, it is now monday. i upgraded from an 8500gt which was a must this card can run crysis on high with decent resolution no flubs at all just seamless gameplay and since it has the option for tri sli (which is overkill) it beats the 9800gtx+ in every category. this card is a must have if youre on a budget.

This card if perfect for gamers who are on a budget. It can run basically every game that is out there right now (max. res., very high, not sure about AA) except for Crysis. But you could run Crysis on max. res. (for me), high, and AAx2 at 30FPS no problem.

Cons: LOUD fan. I can't seem to get the fan lower than %35 speed. Even at %35 it's the loudest thing in my case. Have to disable the automatic fan speed if you want to leave this thing folding over night.

Pros: Free stuff with the card, looks kinda cool, supposedly less power consumption.
Comment:
I traded in my 9800GTX+ for this, I'd say it's worth it. Didn't lose any performance or money, and I can overclock this thing without worrying. My only gripe is the fan. It's loud. Sounds like a leaf blower. Now I just need to find an aftermarket cooler for it.

Cons: its kind of ugly

Pros: Works well with Linux fits in the case ;)

Turns out this was my most cost effective choice for a linux system that was having ATI problems with an old 3870.NVIDIA should push its Linux comparability as that's about all they have left ....let the flames begin. I'm using mine with a Zalman VF900-CU Copper Dual Heatpipe 1350-2400RPM 18.5-25.0DBA VGA Cooler which took 5 minutes to install and keeps the card nice and cool during my intense linux gaming experience.

Cons: - Fan noise- Temperatures

Pros: - Performance- Size- Warranty- Free registration key for 3DMark Vantage Advanced Edition
Comment:
I bought this to replace my 7900 GTO, and I must say... being able to max every setting in L4D feels good (16xAA/AF). It's the same size as my old video card, which fit just as well in my previous case as in my current CM 690. On idle, the fan is almost inaudible, even with case fans turned to the lowest. However, when running anything graphically intensive, there is quite a bit of noise. I wouldn't say it's distracting loud though, as I can't really pay attention to that when I'm gaming. The high temperatures were a little surprising, initially, even though that's probably what most cards run at these days. Idle temps are 45-50C, and load temps are 65-70C, whereas my old card usually idled at around 30C. It doesn't seem like it'll blow up though, and there is the lifetime warranty, so it's all good. This graphics card rocks, it gets 5.9 on vista and can run Flight Sim X on ultra high and i get about 50-80 frames depending on conditions. This is big for a mid size tower covers three of my 4 sata ports but not that big of a problem this thing can run off a 550watt power supply i bought with the graphics card. This is a great card but i need to still test with crysis.

Pros: -Runs Cool-Shorter than 9800GTX+-Fast enough for any game except crysis when running 1680x1050 or 1280x1024
Comment:
I've been in the need for a mid range graphics card for a few months and after watching the 9800GTX+ vs. 4850 war going on for a while it is clear the 9800GTX+ was the better card by a few frames. When nVidia released the GTS 250 which is a renamed 9800GTX+ with a shorter pcb and less power hungry i jumped on it. This GTS 250 will perform reasonably in almost all of the most recent games at mid resolutions. It idles at about 45c and at load im getting about 55c, not bad at all although i have an antec mini p180 which has amazing cooling, i have the 200mm fan, the rear 120mm, and the front bottom 120, all running med/high. I am getting 40-130fps on TF2. Which is heavily cpu reliant but just to give you an example. Thats running at 1280x1024 with everything cranked with 8x msaa and 8x anisotropic filtering. I have an AMD Athlon x2 5000+ (oc'ed to 3ghz), 2gb ddr2 800mhz ram for reference. Overall i would highly reccomend this card to anybody in need of a mid range gpu/ This review was modfied by poster @ 03-23-09 01:58 PM

Cons: lil hotter then i thought it would be considering its 55nm and uses less power

Pros: tripled most of my games framerate even with an increased resolution and all set to max.
Comment:
well worth the money, i was considering a gtx 260, but went with this one because its shorter, luckily i didn't get the gtx260 because i would of found out that my sata and power cables would be in the way, with no way to rout them differently.LIke ive said earlier it tripled my framerates even with everything on Max,runs a lil hotter then i thought it would, about 61C idle, i have 2 intakes 1 12cm 1 8cm, and 2 8cm exhausts so airflow isnt the problem, maybe when i build a new system sometime near the end of the year ill go watercooled bacause that fan can get quite noisy and doesn't do much, I've also increased the fan speed to 80% at idle just to see how loud it is and how well it cools, well 10min at 80% dropped it to 59C. I dono maybe there's something wrong with mine

Cons: Fans are quite loud when at full load, temps reach 75ish when playing CoD5.

Pros: Strong enough to power through all my games, quiet when idle, runs moderately cool, looks badass.
Comment:
I got this yesterday after months of thoughts on the 9800GTX+ vs. 4850 battle. Went with this thanks to the instant rebate, and also for XFX's legendary reputation. The card itself looks completely badass! The cooler work well too, just a bit loud under full load, but that's to be expected. Rips through CoD5/CoD4 at 1680 max settings everything, Crysis at Gamer in 1280, and CoH everything max at 1440. I don't regret this card at all. Might be a tad too long for some cases, but make sure you measure your case first. Great upgrade from a 8500GT, recommended for everyone at this price range at $169.99 This review was modfied by poster @ 03-17-09 02:14 PM
