Cons: None so far...

Pros: Built quality, feels solid, fanless, easy setup, price when in special
Comment:
Bought to replace multiple linked 8 port switches and it is a solid switch. Connected everything and the speed is great. Easy to setup with a great web interface. The unit is fanless so it is dead silent. It feels solid and has a lifetime warranty.

Cons: none so far

Pros: quiet, fast, manageable
Comment:
Bought this to replace an aging 10/100 3com switch. One step in the process of converting small office to gigabit speeds. Works as expected so far and appears to be very good value for a managed switch.

Cons: Included software for longterm stats is overkill. Better free options.

Pros: Easy Setup out of the box. Nice web management. Pop for the price is hard to beat. Nice lights to monitor whats going on.
Comment:
I purchased this switch to replace an aging 3com in my house. The switch often is rebated via netgear. I have 6 xboxes, 2 ps3, 4 pcs, and 2 media servers attched to 2 adsl entry points using this switch and it never has needed a reboot. Very impressed. Very easy to see port activity with well laid out light display.

Cons: a little confusing to configure if used to enterprise platforms, like Cisco or HP

Pros: inexpensive, when having some enterprise-class features that actually work
Comment:
Trunking, VLANs, link aggregation all work, but does not follow the same logic as enterprise platforms. Not to much worry with that, because there was quite a few blogs and articles from people on how to configure the switch using the features. Once you get the hang of it, the switch works great.I'm using it in a small VMware lab for vMotion, which is no small feat...I do agree with the previous poster - using a debit card that takes back a percentage for the rebate is just embarrasing. Passing the cost of providing the rebate back to the customer is tact-less...

Cons: $75 Rebate card will charge 1% international transaction fee to all transactions made outside the United States. $3 Account Maintenance Fee will be applied to all accounts each month, after the six month anniversary date.

Pros: Quiet, no fans, VLAN feature, fast smart switch.
Comment:
Running out of port with existing 8 port Netgear smart switch GS108T-200NAS. Plan to upgrade to Netgear GS116E-100NAS 16port smart switch, but after the rebate this switch is about the same price with 8 more ports. After months of waiting for the rebate card (Prepaid VISA) but just shock that this rebate card charge 1% transaction fee to all transactions outside USA. If I do not used it for some time, it will deduct the maintenance fee until it reach zero balance. I have been getting rebate cards from various vendor, ASUS, Gigabyte, Power Color, OCZ,..... they all do not apply the transaction fee nor maintenance fee. These charges should be stated up front in the rebate description. Now I setup the network with this as main switch in the home office with connection from GS108T-200NAS and GS108E-100NAS from the basement.

Cons: n/a

Pros: Cheap Gigabit rack-mounted switch
Comment:
With a rebate, this is a great purchase. A 24-port, gigabit switch that can be rack mounted and has web based management. For a small business or home office environment, this is ideal. Forget the HPs and Cisco's. This fits the bill.

Cons: none so far

Pros: fast, manageable, no fans, no need for fans, runs very cool and quiet
Comment:
So far so good, cooling is excellent, management console works fine except on Ubuntu with Firefox browser because of Java not being fully supported. Even that is a small issue because it happens only when you try to click on ports in graphical representation of the actual switch. Hardware is working fine, that is what I am interested in.

Cons: None

Pros: Quiet, Cool, Fast, Reliable, Great Price
Comment:
Put two of these in a small enclosed rack and so far the temps are very good and they have been very reliable. With the rebate and sale price they were an incredible deal. Also they are not exactly as pictured, they have no fan. The old model ran hotter from what I've read and had a fan. So having no fan is a good thing.

This isn't a review but I wondered if you guys had ever won a 100 port, yes a 100 port switch at a tech prize draw? I did and it's a bit excessive for me. I wondered if any of you want to exchange?

Cons: It isn't as well made as HP (or so they say)

Pros: Well made smart switch
Comment:
Replaced my older 108t switch. This device is significantly more advanced feature wise, it's easy to configure, price is amazing for 24-port Gig device, and it just works.Be careful when changing the management VLAN, or you'll be starting from scartch

Cons: Don't know yet

Pros: This product is awesome, I just ordered it and I hope it's as awesome as I hope it is, or I'll have to change my review.
Comment:
Just curious why there is a link to review the product on the order confirmation page. If I just ordered the product and haven't received it yet, how can I review it already?

Cons: Any support structure you might need

Pros: Turns on and passes data
Comment:
I put in a negative product review but but because it was a 1-2 star rating NCIX took it down with no explaination. Netgears product support is worse than NIL. Proceed at your own risk.

Cons: -The ports seem to be a little bit closer together than I usually see with other forms of routers and switches, so I actually had issues with my cable ends being too large for it. Read more below about this.-Doesn't print money

Pros: -Worked instantly-Super silent (No fans)-Runs much cooler than the old network hub I had before this-fairly small-Cheap in comparison to other 24 port switches with this many features
Comment:
It is a switch and works like a switch. It was extremely painless to install and has since worked perfectly without a single stutter. However, the only thing I've had an issue with so far was when I realized the ports are a little closer together than most other network devices I've seen. Because of this, I actually had some issues with the ends on my cat5e SNAGLESS cables not actually fitting right next to each other. Note that it seems as though some manufacturers of snagless ethernet cables actually have the ends a little thicker so they can accommodate the snagless design structure. I had to go about this by taking a pearing knife to the cables and shaving them down the edges so they would fit properly.

Cons: fan noise

Pros: AffordableStableGigabitVLANs and a thousand other featuresSFP ports
Comment:
I love this switch and I have two. The first one was occasionally unstable in the web GUI, but a firmware update  fixed this. The second one shipped with the newer firmware. My second switch is not even plugged in at the moment, it's just a standby in case the first one fails. I've read somebody claiming on dslreports that the heatsink compound in these switches leaks, leading to overheating after a couple years. I bought my first one just a hair under two years ago, and frankly I don't care if it does quit, considering the price. My employer uses all Cisco switches and still has to keep spares on hand, only their spares cost a lot more than mine, and the switches still die (10-20% every year), despite costing many times more than the Netgear equivalents. The Ciscos that don't die go EOL after a few years, and we end up having to replace them anyway, despite the high cost of SmartNet.The fans in these switches aren't silent, but they aren't bad either. If the house is very quiet I can just hear it downstairs, but I would never notice it if I wasn't listening for it. A friend of mine has one near the laundry and it can't be heard over the washing machine. I would estimate that it's no louder than some desktop towers, although the small fan generates a higher frequency noise.
