Cons: - High temp on idle: I'm getting 45-50c temp on idle while I was at 30 with my crossfire HIS 6950s... and she's getting really hot on gaming. I tried the custom fan profile but the card goes easily to 70% fan speed in order to keep respectable temperatures (between 70-75c). Maybe I have a defect GPU or the reference cooler doesn't keep the card cool has non reference cooler. Unfortunately, I don't have any idea how Asus support is working..- I have to re-install the whole system (Os) since I was getting RSOD (Red screen of death).. all was fine after.- Availability can be an issue.. It's been 1 month that I was trying to get one .. but we have to pay for it..
Pros: - Amazing performance (BF3, Skyrim, ...)- GPU Tweak is useful (not tried the overclock yet due to high temp... see below)- Great design and well built- Fast shipping (thanks NCIX)- Asus has great enthusiasm product (I also own an essence STX and i'm very satisfied with it) Comment:
I had a great experience while I opened the box. Great presentation and great quality. Thanks for this moment Asus... But I had a big surprise with the RSOD.. Tried several time to reboot .. tried in safe mode to remove all AMD remaining files or registry with some driver removal application.. but no luck. I finally had to re-install the whole system. But after all, I had a great time on the Battlefield! I still have to find a solution in order to know why i'm getting such temperatures.. |
