Cons: It's a monster of a card! Ginormous!

Pros: Very good in live game and 3DMark06 functionality.
Comment:
This thing is a real beast in both how it performs and in sheer size/weight. I had to rewire my case to get this puppy in and don't regret it for a moment. It came with a nice assortment of extras (Mostly useless now, unless you have an older system.) to hook you up and it's the little touches that speak of quality imho. VERY glad I picked it up on the sale price of $220.

I bought this card on sale for 219.99. I thought it was a stellar deal so I hopped on hoping to get a major upgrade from a 8800GT. My plan was to use the GTX 280 is my main GPU and the 8800GT as my PhysX card to take the load off my 280. Installation took longer than I thought. I use a Thermaltake Element T case and I ended up having to re-position a couple of my HDD in order for both cards to fit. After the installations were complete (including drivers), the first game I booted up was BF: BC2 and went straight to the settings. For the hell of it, I put all the settings on high and cranked up AA to the max 16x. I loaded the game and my jaw dropped. I expected 16x AA to kill my GPU but this thing "beast-ed" through it. I then ran Crysis, set everything on Very High with AA and I was shocked to see how well it ran (Approx 30fps?)I did notice the heat being generated as i hit a max of 86-87 degrees celsius. I've read that's around average for the card under load. Just installed it this past weekend so I'll see how it performs in the long run. Sadly, I did realize that I was missing a component. I was missing the HDMI adapter. I really wanted to try this out but did not come with the package. I should also state that it did not come in the packaging I expected it to come in. It was just in a plain black Gigabyte box that didn't even say gtx 280 on it. Not sure what's up with this but I'd be very angry if this was a re-certified product. I so far enjoy this card and will update  as time progresses.
