Very good price for a discrete card in ATI's 4XXX generation. Problem with gaming performance, understandably it is not a gaming card, but there should be decent performance at the lowest settings. As a HTPC card, it should do. |

Cons: Blown resistor in 3 month

Instead of getting a new card, Gigabyte replaced the blown resistor. Will see how much longer it will work. Not to mention there is no MIR cheque in sight after 4 months. I guess this will be the last piece of Gigabyte for me. |

I chose this video card for my new core i7 build because of the low price and the fact that it is passively cooled which means it is quiet and there is no fan that can fail. I'm not a pc gamer, so I don't need a super-fast video card (I got an xbox360 for that). This computer will mostly be used to encode and view hi-def video. So this video card works great for me. |

Installed on my M2A-VM gave up on board graphic becoz of hdmi audio and video, d/led ati driver then worked (Vista x64), hooked up with my Sony receiver and 5.1 home theatre system, avi, dvd, bd movies are all better now. 1080P no problem even on $5 hdmi cable This review was modfied by poster @ 01-07-10 03:34 AM |

Installed on a MSI P965 MB P-D830 running XPPRo, not able to use full features of VC, require Dx10, runs great under Dx9c, some game issuse due to the dx10 lack of. Long time ATI user, aloways had good perfermances form their VC products. |

This card is probably the best you can find for such a cheap price. But if the price goes up then there isn't anything really special about this card, other than it will run nicely with new video games. |

i bought this card for My HTPC based on my old computer, A athlon x2 4600+ on a Asrock 939Dual-vsta. The card doesn't work on this motherboard. you get bluescreen after bluescreen and i tried almost every option in the bios to fix it and nothing work.So i was on my way to return it but a friend of me bough it and it work perfectly in his computer. I bought this card for my HTPC rig.My old video card was awesome for games but it did not have any ability to do HD itself so it relied on my older mobo's processor which caused that to go to 90% of the CPU and with bluray it would cause lots of stuttering. This card works smooth as butter all around. The passive cooling is just the ticket for a quiet HTPC.I would recommoend this to anyone with a HTPC. Gigabyte generally makes great products.LIP |
bought this for a budget build. I priced matched with a MIR to get this for about 25 dollars. it was going to work out the same to get an asus amd board with onboard video (4250) but this gave the option for hdmi, and was stronger graphics with dedicated video ram.would have been nice if this was low profile, as it would have given the option to change the case for the budget build, into a slim case to make it an home theater computer.
