Upgrading from hd5750 and boy, what a difference. I turned up the eye candy in my typical games and the outcomes had been amazing. As already described, it's an outstanding card that OC's like a champ without having the high temps of yore. The 3 fan cooling is not loud or obnoxious at all. I in fact don't mind the whir of the fans because all you seriously hear is the sound of air moving. Not a massive con but hopefully some helpful information; immediately after installing the card, Pc would not boot or even post. That was scary. I reseated card and energy supplies (two six pin) and hit power and got down on floor to see if fans spun up. Two did, a single did not. I gave it a gentle assist with my finger and it spun up. My power supply is a very good one particular so I don't feel that was the challenge. Just a heads up to any person who may possibly have this experience. I am quite jazzed about this card and propose it to everyone who is upgrading from a so so card.

This Windforce X3 is a excellent card if you strategy on running it at stock. Runs Extremely cool. I have been through two of these cards and each cannot overclock previous 940....from the stock 915!! Gigabyte has also disabled voltage manage on these cards so overclocking past the 940 on stock voltage is a no go... If these had voltage handle(when i acquire a OVERCLOCKED card, i kinda count on that it may overclock nicely...) it would have received five stars. But paying 躀 for two cards that can\'t overclock is...a waste.

Quiet and cool, even though operating Furmark in burn-in mode. The 3 fans let it to push much more air with significantly less noise.I was surprised to find out how little power this card pulled. With this card in a quad core system with three difficult drives and two dvd drives, my technique pulls 315-330 watts underneath full load. PSU companies want everybody to think that they need monster 1000 watt energy supplies, but in reality 500 watts must be additional than enough for most men and women. None so far It doesn't say this in the description, but this card only supports 4 monitors at a time even though it has 5 outputs. You can't use each DVI ports and the HDMI at the identical time. This is due to the fact the AMD chipset can only provide two TMDS signals (required for DVI/HDMI). If you want to connect all 4 screens working with HDMI or DVI, you will will need to acquire special "active" display port adapters (ษish every), which do not demand a TMDS signal from the card (unlike passive adapters). I suggest googling for "AMD Eyefinity Validated Dongles" to find AMD's list of authorized adapters. Don't waste money on a dual-link active adapter unless you truly own a screen that needs it.

Just about definitely silent, even below load. Huge distinction from the 4870 I was running. Crazy cool temps - HWMonitor and AMD Overdrive are displaying 35C at idle and 45C while operating Shogun two battles. Impressive. Significant card, in fact extends into the 3.5" HDD bay on my mid tower. If you're using a mid size tower count on to creatively re-route cables about the card, and perhaps have to move a tough drive up or down a slot. Not a huge deal I suppose, but a thing to be aware of. An excellent variant of the 6870. Sublime cooling!

Wonderful card. Runs cool maxed out on all my games. No issues at all with ATI's latest driver and Windows 7 64 bit Pro. Paired with AMD's X4 970 for a sweet gaming rig. Huge. I have a Cooler Master case and I had to move a single of my challenging drives down a slot to make room for this enormous card.

This card runs cool. Upgraded from two 4890s as every one particular basically burned out in turn after overheating problems. This card runs every thing at close to maxed out levels and is not loud at all. Not that I would hear it anyway, as there are a total of 12 fans operating in this process now. Anything like NFS Shift, Black Ops, F1 2010, Grid look genuine good and really feel incredibly smooth with the temp maxing out at 53 deg. This card essentially runs better and cooler by itself than two 4890s no need to have for overclocking out cross firing. Even though I may do it anyway when the price bottoms out. None Crosfiring ATIs appears to be a gamble. They don't appear to add anything to tyhe mix and indeed bring about program troubles. Was operating a matrox Tripplehead and did away with it with this card. Eyefinity runs very nicely but you need to have an active adapter which Newegg doesn't appear to offer. purchased one particular elsewhere for 29 bucks

This is an incredible card. In my antec 900 two case it idles at 40 degrees and loads at 66 degrees. (however i am missing one of the front fans on the situation) The fans are not silent, but are undoubtedly really very quiet below 50%. Above 50% they develop into audible but it is not annoying, it is the sound of air becoming moved by means of a heat sink, not of an electric motor whine. Overclocks like mad. I have it running 980mhz core clock 1150mhz memory clock. Plays every little thing 1080p maxed out with anti aliasing. Cooler shroud is chrome! Longer than i expected. Had to tilt it to make it fit into the case. Dumps heat into the case, my cpu temperature goes up 10 degrees when i pressure the card. Not taking off an egg since the cooling on the card is nevertheless excellent. The AMD drivers are fine. Ive heard a lot of bad things about them and i was worried but... don't be worried. I Have catalyst control center ten.12 and its running just fine.ASUS P7P55DCore i5 750 stock clocks4GB DDR3 1066mhz

Rapidly, quiet and worked correct from the start out. incredibly lengthy card. Goes into a single of my difficult drive bays, but with an extended case you shouldn't have difficulties with that. I plan to get a different and enable crossfire, just have to see about rearranging my challenging drives. Also, make certain you have the newest drivers from ATI.

Cons: I was initially denied by the MIR. They have given me 30 days to send in another MIR, so be sure to read EXACTLY what they want to have sent in. While the UPC bar code on a box with GIGABYTE written on it and an invoice would be enough for most companies, GIGABYTE requires much more, for no apparent reason. -2 stars just for that. It's huge. I knew that before purchasing it, but it barely fits into my case, leaving maybe a few millimetres of space between it and the drive mount in my mid-sized tower.

Pros: Good performance and the factory-overclock is nice.
Comment:
If the size was my only concern, I would have no issue buying another Gigabyte board, but due to the MIR problem I encountered, I won't be buying another one. Why the UPC code and invoice isn't enough for Gigabyte to send me the rebate is beyond me.

for 6870, its is good price now. with 3 fans design, it runs pretty cool.if you search this product review, lots people said the card is OC edition and they have Artifacts issues, and this is true...i bought lots gigabyte before, i just thought this should be ok, but i got bad luck for this card.after RMA, the new one is working fine, hopefully it will last long. gigabyte should do better for this.

Cons: Large, no exhaust

Pros: Cool, silent, good perf, smooth 24p video, price point
Comment:
Fits just fine in the Fractal Design Define R3 (~1cm left to pass some cables). ASUS P6T sata plugs are sideways so no issues even with 6 sata plugged in. Was worried about no exhaust, but the card stays quite cool under load (~55-60), even if OC to 1000mhz, and the bottom of the case where the fans shoot remains very cool (although more heat probably ends up top near cpu area). It's less noisy than 7200 HDDs when idle (40%), and you could lower the speed to 20-25% if needed. On load, fans aren't whiny, noise is non-disruptive. Oh, this is my HTPC as well and it plays 24p video (at 24hz) *much* better than my previous Nvidia GTX260, which tended to skip some frames no matter what (mpc-hc, madvr, reclock). Happy with it.

It came and I was able to install it!With my thumb fingers this was no mean achievement. It was fairly loud, but not nasty sounding, till I installed the drivers and rebooted. Then it was quite quiet.I was dying to know if my PSU could manage it, and if I put it in alright, so I was thrilled it booted. Thrilled once again when it survived five minutes of the Kombustor benchmark/stressing utility. It's like Furmark.I'm upgrading from a MSI HD 5770 Hawk.I loaded up Fallout three, it runs wonderful and nevertheless more quickly than ever immediately after going up to 8x aa.The card is really long and heavy but I nonetheless had some space to spare in my Dell XPS 420. I guess the optional 425 watt PSU it came with is as very good as some have stated. It does have two six pin PCI Express card connectors so I suppose this need to have been expected.I'd say this card runs a tad quieter than the Hawk at idle although at almost specifically the exact same temperature. Below load it's at least one particular notch quieter and cooler. This is excel I utilised MSI's Afterburner utility to monitor temp's and fan speeds. No voltage readings or control although. May be a custom regulator.Saphire's TRIXX utility does show the voltage Ƒ.175) but it won't let me transform it. Thank you AMD and Gigabyte for making a excellent card that my humble system can accommodate.Trivia: If Afterburner is giving an accurate readout than the 2d speeds are 100MHz for the core and 300 MHz for the memory.Playing a 1080p HD video bumps that to among 300-500 MHz for the core and 500-800 MHz for the memory.CPU usage is negligible through that.Without voltage tweaking I couldn't get the core to not artifact at 1000 MHz. It appears to manage 975 MHz just fine.I haven't tested the limits of the memory but though overclocking the core it had no difficulty running at 1050 MHz.I'll leave discussing this cards overclocking potential to folks with high finish rigs and additional understanding. Naturally we're all hoping for voltage tweaking support down the road though for somebody like me it's not a large deal.Happy Holidays everybody!

Cons: Large and in charge. May not fit in some case/mobo setups (covers my SATA III ports)

Pros: Fast card, maxes out all of my games and runs apps smooth.
Comment:
This card was well priced after Black Friday sale and MIR, and I grabbed it. I don't regret it. The futuristic silver look of the card is awesome and the large 3-fan heat dispersing setup is not nearly as loud as one would think. Be careful about fitting this on some mobos, this puppy blocks my SATA III ports on my ASROCK EXTREME3 GEN3 mobo, so I had to use elbowed cords and some clever cord bending. Stable, easy to OC, great card overall.

Very cool, quiet and powerful! The very best 6870 on the market and is highly overclockable. It runs stable at 950mhz core and 4600mhz memory with only 500w power supply (which is a min req)and still doesnt budge over 60 degrees thanks to it 3 fans. with a 600w + power supply it would easily hit 1000mhz core 4800mhz mem, or more no prob.
