Cons: A little loud under full load

Pros: Super fast, good temps due to great cooler
Comment:
Got this to replace a reference design 6950. So far it has been super fast and powerful but it does draw more power. At 100% GPU load using Furmark it is somewhat loud but otherwise it is a great card. The added games from AMD make this a no-brainer purchase.

Pros: QuiteStays Cool

Quite card that stays cool under load. Plays most games flawlessly at 1080p on high-very high settings. The 3 games you get from the Never Settle Radeon Gold Reward Bundle are an added bonus. Crysis 3 looks amazing.

Cons: No backplate

Pros: triple fans, quiet up to about %60, factory overclocked, nice cooler design
Comment:
I upgraded to this card from crossfire 6970's and benchmark were showing that this card was equal to and sometimes faster than the crossfire solution. Very impressed with this card, it'll flex anything I throw at it.

Cons: It doesn't make breakfast.

Pros: Windforce cooler works awesome... keeps things cool without the added noise. It was cheap on sale.
Comment:
Yes, it's voltage locked. However, I have read reports saying that something in the neighborhood of 1250/1575 is still possible. I haven't bumped mine up that high yet, but even bumping up the core another 100MHz made ZERO impact on the core temps. At full utilization, it still doesn't break 60 degrees C, the fan speed has never gone above 63%, and the noise it makes is still barely noticeable. All in all, I think the message here (and from other comments) is that it will OC some more out of the box, but don't expect godlike OC numbers. For the price, it's probably one of the best bang for the buck deals on a 7970 you can find. Cons: - Voltage Locked- Bad Online RMA System & Customer Support- Cheap Fans- Loud While Maxed Out

Pros: - Fast- Cheap for a 7970- Excellent Cooling- Bios Switch- Free Games
Comment:
I ordered through NC-X a just over a month ago. Tried overclocking, but with a voltage lock, I wasn't able to push it to where I needed it to go.I flashed the secondary bios to make it think it was a Ghz addition(it's the same card). This gave me a higher overclocking ceiling but didn't unlock the voltage. My tests showed that the Ghz bios, even though I did get a higher overclock, I was getting worst performance. I switched back to default with a low 1050/1575 stable clock. The last couple days I have been getting the wonderful sound of a 7970 fan bearing about to give randomly throughout the day. And today I have had the card go full RPM and lock the computer up when stand-by tries to enable.I have submitted an RMA to Gigabyte about 7-8 days ago with no reply or permission to ship it to them for repairs. Also the online RMA system they have is very badly implemented. It doesn't give email updates and the RMA requests have to be accessed with a ref#. It;s like the request isn't directly tied to your account and they don't give you a confirmation E-mail to remind you what your "Waiting for Approval" reference number is.

Cons: -Locked voltage (I can't undervolt my card :( )-no memory voltage control either?

Pros: -Quieter than reference design-Cooler than reference design
Comment:
This is a great video card to own, it runs cool and using gigabytes OC guru software I have easily created my own fan curve to have it run around 65 degrees max while maintaining around 60% fan speed. As a result this video card has been way quieter than any stock solution from AMD or nvidia that I have tried in the past and runs cooler as well.I understand why Gigabyte is locking the maximum voltage of the card but I really wish I had more control in reducing the voltage required. At the moment the voltage can be reduced if the GPU is underclocked at certain speeds and the voltage decreases are few and far between.I have stressed tested this component for 7 days straight and it's a rock at stock speeds.

Cons: VOLTAGE LOCKED!!! That means very little OC'ing, what a shame! Has a great cooler but voltages cannot be adjusted.

Pros: FAST!Quiet at idleStays really cool even under full load (under 60 so far for me, with 20c ambient)
Comment:
Great card overall. Just a heads up, the older reviews (early-mid 2012) had the unlocked versions of these cards, Gigabyte now locks them (late 2012?.)Other than that.. it runs great. No problems whatsoever. Can still squeeze out a little OC but nothing much, still it is insanely fast. I wish I had known it was locked before, but it's not NCIX's fault!

I am happy with this card besides the fact Gigabyte have went ahead an voltage locked all their cards. I would recommend this card to people who don't plan to overclock. If you want to overclock stay far away. All the reviews say this card oc great but that's not the case with the new revisions.

This has been a great card. I haven't had any issues with the card a stock speeds. I'm very sure this card is capable of another 17% more seeing all the posts about this card. If you do need that extra grunt you will have to disable CCC OC settings and use aftermarket programs. I certainly would recommend this card

Cons: Voltage Locked, stock fan speeds are too loud

Pros: Good value, drivers are improving
Comment:
I paid extra for the Gigabyte version because the Asus version was voltage locked, and apparently this one is also locked. I can only overclock the card to 1050/1525, which is quite embarrassing. The performance is still decent for the price, and the drivers are constantly improving, so I can't complain. If you can, I would suggest you look for something with unlocked voltage, so it can be more future-proof.

Cons: So far none

Pros: Excellent Card, Sounds the same as my MSI 6950 I just upgraded from. Sound is average for a card of this spec. Fans are running at 50 percent at the moment. Still waiting on display port cables in the mail. Won't be able to push gaming limits until all 3 Dell 23 inch IPS monitors are fully connected.
Comment:
Would like to add be sure to ask questions about the so called promo...As I type this... the promo is still being advertised. I allowed the promo to sway me in the purchase of this card and not another MSI card which was sold out!! I previuosly ownded an MSI 6950 ..great card I must add. I would have had to purchase elsewhere and woudn't have recieved the game bundle. So I bought the Gigabyte card, which was in stock, instead.I have emailed NCIX asking where the bundle is and when can I expect to recieve it. I will update  here once I recieve an answer to my question. The videocard so far a definite 5 stars...the service will get a 3 star. For these reasons. Card was shipped fast. recieved what I asked for but only partially. If the bundle is no longer available. I should have been told at the checkout..I wasn't. If it is still available they will contact me to tell me why there was a mishap and then I will come back to regrade NCIX and give a different review.1. Cons: Flickering/artifacts.Price.

Pros: One of the most fastest single gpu card on the market.Quiet.
Comment:
After playing Skyrim and BF3, I noticed some strange behavior : flickering/artifacts, although not that much, at stock speeds. The FPS is good, but the flickering/artifacts are very distracting when they do happen. I went on the forums to seek advice and I noticed many are experiencing the same issues with the 7970. Some say its driver related, others say its not. So, I dont know if I should try to RMA. I fear NCIX will not see the problems (they happen, but not frequently)...I am growing tired of AMD. Perhaps I should just go for Nvidia instead...

Comment:
I've been using this since it was first released on a Samsung SA850D 27" panel and it plays everything well in native resolution. No problems or artifacting at all. Now since the release of the 12.11 driver set it is at the top of the single GPU cards in terms of performance and value.

Just purchased, installed in a brand new Windows 8 64-bit system with an SSD drive and installed one of the 3 free games (Sleeping Dogs, the other two are not released yet). Downloaded the High-Res texture DLC from Steam... and still this game is sooo smooth with everything on max. Well worth the purchase! Bought it when it was $359.99, and it is the OC edition x1000MHz, with 3 free (AND GOOD!!!) games, you can't go wrong. Currently running in stock condition, no overclocking at all, no liquid cooling. The only con I can think of is that it didn't come with a sticker to put on the front of the case... but that's really a joke more than an actual con against the card :)The other thing I would like to mention as a side note is that it does come with 2X molex-to-PCIe cables (8-pin and 6-pin) in case your PSU doesn't already have one, as well as a CrossFire bridge cable. Can't wait for Farcry 3!!!

Great card! Runs quiet. Maxed out settings in BF3, Metro 2033, Crysis 2, SC2, Diablo III, Skyrim - silky smooth. And this is stock fresh out of the box, not even overclocked. Ran a basic stress test using FurMark, temps maxed at 64 celsius. Great performance in 1920x1080 + 4X MSAA. Great card for the 450$ price, cheaper than the other vendors ( ~ 500$+ )

Pros: Very FastLow power consumption when NOT gamingFactory overclock
Comment:
This card is as advertised, a very fast gaming card. BF3 at 1920x1200 at Ultra settings is silky smooth. I was surprised how loud the card was though (I was playing in a warm room on a hot day) compared to my Geforce 460 I was coming from. That card was silent, while the 7970 is clearly audible above my rather loud PSU fan during ferocious battles. At 100% fan speed during my game temps were around 70 degrees, so it might be possible to lower the speed a bit and have reasonable temps.

Cons: Not totally silent under load (with F1 Bios)Cooler rejects warm air inside the case

Pros: Awesome coolerExcellent performanceNot overpriced anymore3GB of video RAMFactory overclockedCan still be overclocked moreYou get exactly the advertised GPU speed (No 'GPU boost' lotery)
Comment:
I am very happy with this card.Performance is top notch and its 3GB of video RAM should handle any resolution and multi-monitor setup. The Gigabyte Windforce cooler delivers handsomely, as the GPU temperature never exceeds 65C when the card is fully loaded, even when the ambient temperature reaches 28C. Of course, you'll need a well ventilated case for this to happen. The cooler fans are audible with the stock F1 bios when the card is loaded, but the noise never gets annoying and game soundtracks will usually prevent you from noticing it. Nevertheless, users willing to allow the GPU temp to rise by a few degrees can download the F2 bios from Gigabyte for a more silent performance. While the card is factory overclocked, it can still go faster. Mine runs completely stable at 1080MHz (GPU)/ 5.7 GHz (GDDR5). This is an almost 17% overclock from the 7970 925MHz GPU stock speed and was reached at stock GPU core voltage (1.17V). Quite impressive. When overclocking, your mileage may vary, as the saying goes, but you will get a card that can run at least at one GHz, and likely faster. And the card you purchase should perform exactly like the ones sent to the press on launch for review, unlike some competing products where you do not know beforehand the speed at which the GPU you bought actually runs.
