At first, neither Windows nor the installation software saw the drive. After checking around on the internet, I discovered that what isn't recognized in one PCI slot might be fine in another. I moved it to a different slot and it works fine! I didn't even need to install any drivers from the CD.

I purchased this to add to a refurbished PC also from Tiger. Dial Up only in the area the PC was to be located. Worked perfect right out of the box!

I installed the Hiro in a friend's computer and checked its performance with my ISP from my house. My connections are typically 19,2 to 24K. The Hiro connected at 32K, first time. Really impressive. I will be testing the external modem by Hiro next. Note: I have not inventoried the features. I use the modem to connect to the internet. I am required to rate the features, and so I gave it a 5. YMMV!

Used it to repair a computer for a friend, who still has dial up. Easy set up, and worked right off.

Plugged it in and windows installed it, but the windows driver didn't work every time I sent a fax. So I uninstalled and installed the driver from the CD that came with it. It worked every time there after. The software leaves something to be desired, but then they offer you an upgrade dont they for about 59 bucks. Nonetheless for the price, you cant beat it.

Easy to install. Computer recognized it right away. Works great. Unfortunately the dial up is very slow and takes forever to download large files (forget about watching video online. The modem is a great temporary fix until I get back to broadband.

It works and does what a modem does and it has a great price. I purchased a couple more to keep on hand for the next lighting strike.
