Look, I don't own this board - I am thinking of obtaining it, but I want to straighten some thing out right here. It can overclock some CPUs - the ones with a K in the name. Sandybridge CPUs devoid of the K can either have a limited overclock or no overclock. none none

Low cost 1155 board with many integrated features. This is an H67 board with four dimm slots (many boards only have 2). Board has onboard hdmi, dvi, vga and audio fiber out. I didn't notice when purchasing, but this board has a 1394 header on the board; they are becoming much less typical. I discovered the new uefi bios incredibly confusing. The manual poorly documents exactly where to come across features and it isn't intuitive; example, cpu settings are found beneath 'OC', though not all settings are strictly about overclocking (ie, VT-x is not an overclocking function). There is a separate 'Setting' section which consists of a majority of other integrated characteristics settings. The bios screens are incredibly pretty, but not much believed was put into their organization (I *did* like the graphical cpu temperature meter, I wouldn't thoughts seeing other customizable meters). 1 of the prior critiques claimed the pcie 16 slot was only usable for video cards. I have a Dell PERC 6/i raid card in the 16x slot working without having situation. The sata1ž ports are the 6gb ports. This may possibly bring about some problems with installing a handful of alternate fruit OS's. I didn't have an issue installing esxi4.1 with an intel 9301 added. The onboard nic will perform with esxi with an 8168 oem.tgz.If this new graphical bios is the way MSI is going with their desktop boards, I'll most likely not buy an additional.

Looks fantastic as a fantastic value, it may possibly be wonderful for a HTPC if you dont have any non 1x cards to install into it. New Egg has the PCI express slot listed as 1 PCI Express 2. x16, this is not accurate it is PCI-Ex16. This Ex slot only takes video cards and I am unable to use my RAID card in this slot and use the on-board video. if I eliminate my RAID card I can see the BIOS settings, and following changing the BIOS to appear for the Integrated graphics it still does not function. I have a service request in to MSI for an answer, I could be RMA'ing this board mainly because NewEgg listed the specs incorrect. I should have double checked the MSI web page for this slot... I was preparing to use this for my HTPC and my File storage. I have seen good reviews for the Sandy Bridge i5 video playback... I believed I would give MSI a chance, under no circumstances once again. Cons: Bios update  default is IDE instead of AHCI.

Pros: VGA output, HDMI output, DVI output.
Comment:
Ok so I realized that the Bios update  changes the settings to IDE instead of AHCI.After flashing with the new Bios, Windows 7 wouldn't start up. So I went ahead and reformatted it.Then later I realized it was just this small little setting that was not allowing Windows to load. The fan control software provided by MSI, i.e. Control Center 2, cannot reduce the fan speed of the Tower Fans. I can only reduce the CPU fan speed.I am not sure if Asus Motherboards can do that, as it seems that another user (as mentioned on NCIX forums) was able to control all the fans using Asus Fan Xpert on his Asus motherboard.I tried setting it to 50% voltage but it did not do anything for the tower fans. But I am happy that I can do multi-monitor and use the integrated graphics card and the GT 520.You need to download the VGA drivers from MSI to do this, and change some settings in the BIOS.I really like that this Motherboad has a VGA output, HDMI output, and DVI output, for using integrated graphics.

Cons: None

Pros: Good all around motherboard
Comment:
Not much to say, its a good motherboard and has all the features I required. Note that it has a 8pin motherboard power connector port but I'm running it with a 4pin and it seems to be fine. The UEFI does not well with mice.

* Has 4 memory slots* Works out of the box* Fairly affordable* H67 enables the use of builtin processor video over VGA, DVI, HDMI * BIOS pretends to overclock processor, but as we know that H67 can not do it* BIOS is uselessly difficult with respect to processor: capability to change Voltage, voltage slope... and so on, when processor speed can not be overclocked* many BIOS settings remain unexplained - not on BIOS suitable-side windows, nor in the manual* BIOS settings are not straightforward in order to implement directly Intel Turbo Boost 2., rapid boot...* Takes 2-three seconds from pushing Start to very first BIOS screen; why? My G45 chipset Intel mobo boots quicker, when H67 chipset ought to permit for a really quick boot* Multiple beeps at boot. Who wants these? It wants a new BIOS revision to make BIOS settings simple and boot very rapid. My case: I use an i7 2600K; BIOS 'allows' to 'overclock' it to three.8 GHz. No, thank you. I don't want to run my i7 at three.8 GHz at all time, I want BIOS to enable Turbo Enhance to boost the i7 to three.8 GHz when load asks for it and underclock without having load. What BIOS settings implement directly Turbo Enhance 2.? BIOS would not clarify, neither the manual.I think the BIOS of this board adresses 'overclockers' but does not give them quite a few alternatives (only poor overclocking of Intel HD which we don't do anyway). We kindly ask MSI to keep in mind that we use H67 not to overclock processor but to take benefit of Intel HD 2񳞨 with Swift Sync and Turbo Increase two.. Main users know that 2-nd gen i5/i7 are extremely responsive without having overclocking and the most time consuming task is video processing/recoding - for which we have Quick Sync, that's why we use the H67 chipset. The overclockers will undoubtedly select P67.

Cons: was on backorder for a week, only one graphics slot

Pros: was the cheapest H67 board I could find
Comment:
got this board because wanted to use the integrated HD3000 graphics on my intel i5 2500k.didn't care about OCing, so this was the best choiceno ability for more than 1 graphics card, doesnt bother me

Micro-atxsata 6USB threeFireWire port and header1155 rev. B3difficult drive cloning tool built into the uefi Can't get my build to wake up from s3 sleep. But I think it's a graphics card issue not a mobo issue. My criteria for this develop was that I necessary an 1155 rev b3 board with USB3 sata6 and a FireWire header on a micro atx board. This fits my needs perfectly and was a decent price. The efi hard drive cloner was pretty handy and straightforward to use.

Cons: -Doesn't include breakouts for various headers. -Includes only one 4-pin CPU power plug.

Pros: -Easy overclocking with multiple loadable profiles-Mouse-driven UEFI BIOS, easy to flash
Comment:
No problems yet with this mainboard. The UEFI graphical BIOS is weird, but works well (there is an update  on the MSI site). Overclocking is a piece of cake and you can set up and save 5 separate settings profiles. If an overclocking setting fails, the system will automatically fall back to a working one.
