Runs cool and pretty quiet. Handles Crysis at 1920x1080 on Quite Higher with 8aa and nonetheless pulls 33fps. I give it a lot of ventilation, four 120mm fans, and it stays cool and quiet. I haven't ever heard it however. I don't like the energy plugs on the top, but it seems nearly all the 6870's have them there. I'm quite significantly an HIS fanboy. I used to run their IceQ series in my old technique, I have an HIS in the wife's computer system, and this card in my new technique.

Never ever purchased an HIS product ahead of but I have to say, I have been impressed with the quality. The fan is extremely quiet even beneath load and it's played anything I've thrown at on higher settings. Also terrible it takes two six pin pci-e power connectors. Appear forward to seeing a drop in value in the close to future so I can pick up a 2nd card for cross-fire setup.

-Low price tag for a midrange card-competes with GTX 460, GTX 470, ATI 5850 and ATI 5870 in many gaming benchmarks-Runs really quiet I am but to hear the fan more than my case fans or CPU heatsink even soon after running furmark for an hour-Excellent functionality enhance more than my XFX 5770 ten-18 FPS obtain in Star Craft II, Terrible Firm 2, Dragon Age: Origins, TES IV: Oblivion, AVP, Borderlands and Fallout: New Vegas.-Considerably larger low and typical FPS in games now-Temps are low and nicely inside rande 53C idle with fan at 26% and 71-73C load with 35% fan speed.-operating ten.ten drivers with no troubles what so ever All round this card is every thing I could want. Excellent performance boost, low power consumption, low heat output, options are left open for multidisplay later on or a 3D monitor and all for a incredibly low value compared to the competitors. As I mentioned below ATI is notorious for faulty drivers at launch BUT so far I am having no key troubles at all with these drivers following hours of gaming and benc -probably missing out on this cards complete prospective thanks to immature ATI/AMD drivers-CCC overdrive does not function with this card you can not allow it with out video difficulties so you drop the potential to OC via CCC and handle fanspeed BUT the automatic fan manage keeps temps effectively within range so it is not a massive con at all. I have had this card for a extended time and soon after I put some AC 5 spread on it, the card is doing an wonderful job. I OC'd from 900 to 970 (would not like 1Ghz, but every card is unique) and Max temp it gets to is 80 C on FurMark stability test with 32% fan speed. I run my mem at 1160 vs 1120 stock. With these OC'd settings, I get about eight frames much more per second and it keeps my room good and warm. Fan noise will make you laugh if you set it to anywhere involving 50-one hundred% mainly because of how comparable it is to a hair dryer. With my burn test, the fan only got to 32% and it was decent, but quite noticeable. Also from reading up on this card OC capabilities, people are having difficulties with overclocking memory but core is significantly far more versatile. Similar was the case with my card Go get yourself some AC 5 spread or some of the similar high quality, it genuinely does make a difference.

Awesome performance in particular for the cost. I am playing the Crysis two Demo set at 1920x1080 Hardcore, and I still get 60 FPS! When I play Starcraft two on Ultra setting, I get over 150 FPS. Get in touch with of Duty Black Ops…over 60 FPS on the highest setting with 8x AA! The card is excellent. Just make confident you have the area for it. Mine barley fit inside my mid tower. Large Card

• Solid Performance • 赨 Value Point • Tons of Attributes • Supports up to 5 Displays • No Mini Show port Adaptor Included This card actually shocked me in the end. I offer you fantastic efficiency for the value. When I am seeking to get a new card I commonly read a couple of critiques online and it often boils down to the expense and the overall performance for me. This card genuinely targets the typical gamer that wants to get true overall performance without having spending subsequent month’s rent dollars to get it.

Installed this card in a matter of minutes, produced positive I got rid of the old drivers working with DriverSweeper and installed the new drivers from AMD. The card is at the low end of the "sweet spot" for graphics cards and AMD has a genuine winner on their hands. This card is about as strong as a 5870, slightly less with present drivers but when updates start out coming in, count on it to match and eventually beat the 5870. The entire point of the 6000 series was to match functionality working with significantly less die space, much less transistors, much less energy, and less heat. This card undoubtedly accomplishes that and handles 99% of an extreme gamer's requirements. As extended as you preserve it to a single high-def monitor, all the eye candy can be turned to max and this child will manage it. The stock cooler isn't the greatest, but a lot more than handles the heat load. My card had way too a lot thermal compound from the factory so I cleaned it up and applied the right quantity of Arctic Silver 5. Also, the base plate of the GPU cooler wasn't really smooth at all, so I lapped and polished it to a near mirror finish. All in all about 15mins of operate dropped temps a excellent 8C. For these questioning, my program handles CoD-Black Ops, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat, and Metro 2033 at 1080p with all settings maxed out at quite extremely played frame prices. My system:AMD PhenomII 1090T @ 4.2Ghz with water cooling loop, Asus M4A88TD-V Evo, HIS 6870, 2x 2GB Kingston HyperX @ 1900Mhz cas9, OCZ Vertex2 60GB SSD, Samsung F3 1TB, ThermalTake 750watt ToughPower.I'd consider even systems less capable than mine with this card could deal with just about any game maxed out at 1080p.

Upgraded from a 4870 HD 512MB. The performance improvement was way beyond my expectations, and even the week following it came out the price was correct. The pci-e energy plugs are on prime of the card, instead of on the back. I don't know if theres a objective behind this, but it is annoying as the wires are now in view of the window on the case. Decent pixel fill price--very good FPS even at greater resolution game settings. Runs COOL & QUIET even when beneath load. The coolness is what sells this board-- even even though it's stock fan and reference board-- this issue performs and stays cool (unlike the 4850 it replaced). Remember to "UNINSTALL" all earlier ATI drivers ahead of plugging in. Go to amd.com and get the newest Catalyst drivers ྪ.12 currently), and use these to set up card-- do not use supplied disk. Fire up your box, set your show settings, and get 'wowed'. Really fantastic card and even greater price tag for this level of functionality. Massive (you need to have ten" of clearance). May well have to move a HD to get this monster into spot on smaller sized circumstances. 3D applications to use ATI's H3D-- not very here but. But if you have 3D Tv, can play 3D-BluRay via Hdmi, and games by way of 3rd party vendors such as DDD. 3D monitors are coming-- Europe presently-- North America soon we hope! Desires ƒ) 6-Pin energy connectors (make positive your PSU is capable). Comes with "Molex-to-six pin" adapters, but would not use them-- upgrade to a more capable PSU to match this quite capable video card.

This card is Really nice, so far there is practically nothing it can't handle. Black Ops, BC2, Medal of Honor, Mafia II, GTA four, and so forth, and so on. Handles them all in full Hi-Def. Card stays somewhat cool thinking of my last card was an IceQ4 4850. Its only about a half centimeter longer than my 4850s which is a plus because I believed I would've had to get a new case to match the card. And its not just the games that are improved, its everything on the personal computer. Videos load faster, and so do normal applications that call for a lot more than typical power. Its quite major for Mid-Tower situations, make confident that you have adequate clearance. I think about 10.5" is the length. Other than that there are no cons. Moved from crossfired 4850s to this SINGLE card and I see overall performance raise everywhere! I have two of these in Crossfire. I mostly play Warcraft, but also Call of Duty MW2, Steam games like Left four Dead 2 and Team Fort 2. Also last weekend I picked up Civ V. It runs all of these at max settings, which I anticipated. I'm certain the i7 had a lot to do with it, along with my 10럼񲿘 LAN, but I was capable to host a fairly enormous Civ V LAN game and there wasn't ever any kind of slow down. I picked the 6870 right after the "best for the money at X pricepoint" write-up on Tom's Hardware and have been genuinely happy. I fundamentally have a 軸 video card for 踰. The power connectors needed some adapters to split the inputs. Not a huge deal as it comes with them (I in fact had far better ones in my rig developing box) but it does create some further wiring that I had to tie off to make look quite. i7-950ASUS X58 Sabertooth mainboardtwo x HIS 6870 in Crossfire2 x OCZ Vertex two SSD in RAID In Win Dragon Rider case

Price, I got this for 起.00 New Egg HIS special and with free shipping...amazing great. This card runs cool, outperforms a 5850, much better tesselation and has Morphological anti-aliasing. Try it out on Oblivion, with HDR lighting you can't allow standard anti-aliasing, but enable Morphological anti-aliasing on the 6870 and you have HDR and aliasing! Awesome...Oblivion appears like a new game.Runs every little thing really effectively. Consider 5850 power with new characteristics, and charges less, and with 4 show ports. Whats not to like?HIS has some fantastic decal style. And their internet site is very detailed, its a good modify to see that considerably detail for products. At this value and overall performance certainly none. This is the card that made Nividea freak out and drop the price on their 470, because the 6870 knocks on the efficiency door of the 470, uses way significantly less power and generates way significantly less heat, and would have expense virtually 80 bucks much less...

Improved tessellation over 5xxx series - excellent reference cooler which maintains reasonable temperatures and quiet overall performance at idle - able to run all of the games I play at 1920x1080 at full settings - came with two 6 pin energy adapters - includes DVI-A to VGA adapter Secondary DVI connection on card is a single link DVI-D which means, no analog output from this connection. If you want analog, use the first output. This is confusing and not well documented, which is not a complaint against HIS but rather by design of the 6870 cards. Upgraded from a 512 MB 5770 which I was satisfied with, to this, considering Newegg had a fairly tempting sale. General, I am tremendously happy with this graphics card and glad I made the purchase.

Rapid, Overclocked to 965 (core) / 1165 (memory), best bang for the buck The sticker on the front peeled off, almost certainly due to heat from the card. This truly isnt an concern the card really looks better devoid of it on. Newegg was nice sufficient to offer you to pay for shipping back to warehouse for replacement and for the shipping back to me. Seriously great card, really should spend for itself in the long run. Second HIS gpu Ive gotten from the egg and it works excellent, highly advocate if you want a sturdy midrange gpu.

Maxes every thing I've played so far at 1920 X 1080. Black Ops, BFBC2, New Vegas, Just Cause two......The list goes on and on. Idles at 41c, complete load @ 62c. Overclocked it for entertaining, but seeing how it maxes everything at stock, there is no need to overclock it. AMD is aggressive with their prices vs. the competitors. I have heard a lot of men and women whine about continual driver difficulties, but I have been making use of AMD/ATi for several years and have in no way encountered a driver problem, I consider men and women tend to exaggerate or they are dumb. The sticker started out peeling at the corners so I just took them off, it looks way cooler all black and red. Then once again, that's not truly a con mainly because I under no circumstances would have believed to take the sticker off if it wasn't peeling leaving me with the cheesy graphics they use these days.
