Cons: FAT32 file system only in order to use the NAS features. So 4gb+ files are splitted on the drive while using NAS and data gets corrupted.

Pros: The device looks great.
Comment:
Great price, large drive but the FAT32 file system only NAS is killing me. I have to use it as a USB drive in order to format it as NTFS to store 4gb+ files. Buffalo tech support seems to say that they will not implements other file systems even if the NAS is running under a Linux OS.

Cons: No NTFS support over ethernetPoor network services compared to the LS-CH1.0TL modelAs far as I can tell, it won't automatically cycle power in a power outage.

Pros: USB support is good
Comment:
I was comparing this against another Buffalo NAS Linkstation LS-CH1.0TL, and the only difference I was even concerned about was the GBIT lan on the linkstation. I don't have a gbit router, so I opted for this cheaper model. I was disappointed to hear that this model is formatted by default to FAT32, which only supports up to 4gb files. You can reformat the drive over usb to be NTFS, which support (I think) up to 127gb, but this isn't supported over ethernet.I ended up purchasing the LS-CH1.0TL model anyways, and there are way more features. Most of these feature involve using a network connection. As a usb drive this works fine (except the power cycling is annoying, and as far as I can tell will fail remotely). If you are purchasing this drive because you think you even *might* use it over a network, buy the LS-CH1.0TL, otherwise you will be disappointed like I was.
