Cons: Small USB cable (about 6" long)

Pros: Looks nice, can be reformatted to NTSF, average speed
Comment:
It performs just like an external USB drive should. Transfer rate are no different than others. The product looks good and is compatible with all of my systems. The only drawback is a short USB cable. This is probably due to the fact that it is powered from the USB cable. I put a short 16" USB A/B extension cable and it still seems to work just fine... with a longer cable it was "suspect".

Cons: none

Pros: Compact, works with mac
Comment:
Bought it on sale. It was one of the better looking ones. Buffalo logo glows white when powered on. It works with Mac which is what I needed. Can't really tell if its fast, but its not slow.

Cons: - Did not work well with older Macs

Pros: - Very portable- Does not need external power source- Quiet
Comment:
I bought this for my girlfriend as she wanted a portable HDD to store files in that she can use between the PC and Mac. She has an older Mac and it seems that it would not recognize the drive, the PC recognized it fine and everything seems to work great on the PC. Overall it is a great portable HDD that uses the USB to power it which is a plus

Cons: - USB cable is incredibly short- Transfer speeds are incredibly slow

Pros: - Good value when on sale- Nice sleek design, looks great- Uses 1 USB port
Comment:
Overall, a good value for an external harddrive. The unit looks great (in terms of asthetics I think it looks much better than my Maxtor One-Touch Mini), and it gets the job done. But, it's not practical if you want to use it on anything but a laptop. The USB cable is disgustingly short. My desktop tower is on the ground, and even when using my front USB ports, the cable isn't long enough such that I can put the drive on top of the tower or on a table. The harddrive doesn't get very hot even after transferring 20GB (which took almost twice as long as my Maxtor One-Touch Mini) and leaving it on for a while. FYI - the label says Made in Japan. If it's on sale and you need something to backup your data, this'll get the job done and is worth picking up.

Cons: - Loose USB connection. Potential Data corruption or failure!!!!- USB Port is too narrow; must use the supplied short cable. - Doesn't come with a pouch like the WD Passport- USB cable ridiculously short

Pros: - Sleek Looking- Lighter than the WD and Seagate counterparts- It is marginally slimmer than the competition as well
Comment:
The USB Port connection on the HD comes loose very easily. The USB Port on the HD is too small, it requires the use of Buffalo's own USB Cable. Looks beautiful with the blue power led and Buffalo logo that lights up. The performance is also fair with the competition. I notice that this drive has the "Made in Japan" sticker on it. However the drive is completely sealed and cannot be opened. I do not know for sure whether the hard drive inside the enclosure is indeed made in Japan.
