Cons: ATI Drivers

Pros: Solid for the price, easily overclocked

So I've had this for four months and I bought it for $130. Every game I've thrown at it, it's handled very well. I have been using it with Windows 7 since the RC and haven't had many problems with the drivers, but when I reinstalled Windows 7 Professional I had a few hiccups.I intend on buying another one of these and give Crossfire a shot, but not for a while - just one of these is giving me my money's worth!

Cons: the cooler is wide all the way. an SLI with theses cards may be dengerous.

Pros: efficient good price
Comment:
I tested this card qith all the tools i had and it is rock stable. the only glitch i see is that the cooler is straight unlike the gts 250 for example. so when you scrossfire theses the top card may have alot of problems breathing.

Cons: Dual slotonly 512mb

Pros: XFX Reputation / Warranty4850 is good speed/moneyDoesnt keep the hot air inside the case.10.1 DX 4.1 SMYou can use 2 for Crossfire.Adaptive antialising (ATI AAA) god i love thatConstant support from ATI Drivers teamthermal performance under load is exceptional
Comment:
You cant be disapointed with this card unless you play at extremely high resolution in that case a video card with more memory will be better. I play myself all my games at 1680x1050 and i didnt find a game yet not being able to max out the settings. Highly recommended for the price. This review was modfied by poster @ 09-08-09 03:22 PM

I bought this card in order to complete a Crossfire on my system. As this might not be the best card on the market, it still does the job very well. I got this on special 99.99$ Extreme deal. The only thing I can say is good buy.

Cons: Fan is noisyHave to wait after the MIR

Pros: Dual slot coolingXFX double lifetime warrantyGreat performance
Comment:
It runs all my games perfectly at maximum settings. XFX double lifetime warranty is nice when you have to sell your video card later. My only complain is that the fan is noisy at anything over 55% fan speed, so you have to manually modify that setting.

Cons: None so far... we'll see

Pros: -Energy efficient (1 pci-e 6pin)-Quiet/excellent cooler-runs any current game like silk-value-Zero coil noise-good XFX warranty
Comment:
This is a great mid range card, it's night and day compared to my 7800GT and runs any unreal3 or source based engine like silk. 700/1150 stable overclock... which is not bad. Not great.I think this is a great holdover for now and a fantastic value for a mid range gamer. It runs what you need, not exactly 'futureproof' but I didn't really see a good reason to drop  another 150 bucks on a better card that sucks up another pci-e cable. The 4850 runs what I need to run, no more, no less.

Cons: - Unstable overclock via Catalyst- Lack of crossfire bridge and dvi-to-hdmi adapter (It's an HD4850, isn't it?)

Pros: - XFX packaging a treat- Runs most titles at or near their maximum settings at 1680x1050 (no AA). - Effective fan/heatsink
Comment:
I'd like to issue a better rep for this card, but it came to me defective. Under load, it would crash and freeze the entire system; at least it demonstrated it could handle lower end graphical settings with stability - at least. Probably an exception, but please keep in mind how easy it is to damage a videocard through a longer, bumpier method of shipping - mind that these cards must be handled with care.

Cons: - Dual slot cooler (if you need space)- I don't think XFX offers the double-lifetime warranty with this card

Pros: - Dual slot cooler- XFX quality- Great performance
Comment:
It's always an NVidia vs ATI tossup. And then when it comes to the 4850, it's a tossup with HIS vs XFX. I don't think you can really go wrong with either. This is a solid performing card. The frame-rate junkies will get their fix. Installation of the device is easy, and the installation software politely automatically check the internet for the latest drivers. A really nice piece of hardware.

I decided to purchase this card because of its' dual-slot cooler and because of XFX's reputation. This card runs relatively cool compared to other 4850s (About 35C at stock) and overclocks very well. This review was modfied by poster @ 02-14-09 07:24 PM

Pros: Dual slot cooling. XFX warranty
Comment:
I chose this card over the HIS Radeon HD4850 Turbo ICEQ4, mainly because this was in stock and the HIS card was at least 2 weeks out on back order. I really wanted the HIS card, but I think the better XFX warranty (and the ~$60 price difference) more then makes up for the slight stock overclock/performance difference. The cooler on the XFX card is pretty robust. The black plastic shround covers the whole card, so I'm not sure if it has the heatpipe cooler like the HIS card does. From what I can see, it looks like just a huge heat sink under the shroud. But so far I have not noticed any temperature or fan/sound issues. At idle the card runs around 42 degC and approximately 50% fan speed. After playing Fallout3 for an hour the temps got up to 50 degC and the fan speed seemed to stay pretty constant. All in all, as a second choice goes I could have done a lot worse. And with the double lifetime warranty I won't be regretting this purchase anytime soon. This is my second XFX video card (I had an XFX 6600GT back in the day), and I would recommend it very highly.
