Everything seems to be working so far. Have connected it to my PC via both USB 3.0 and e-sata. Acceptable speeds for my needs.

I'm currently using in on SATA mode and it works great, the nice aluminium finish also adds a nice touch and adds an extra passive cooling.

USB works very well (haven't tried eSATA, although motherboard drivers are known to be finicky with eSATA). Using HDTUNE, the drive was constant at 160 MBps using USB3. Drive stays relative cool: measured 36-37 degrees under the HD tune test. I initially was worried about the heat based on some reviews I read so I drilled out a few small holes from the front cover to let the heat escape. I don't think it was necessary as the aluminum housing does a good job. Experienced no disconnections and easily moved the hard drive without turning it off from a laptop to a router. Only thing I did was "safely remove HW". Paired it up with a Seagate 2TB.

Bought a pair of these since my older computer only has e-sata while the new one also has USB3. Both interfaces work well. The included 12v power supply has a slightly different connector than some other external drives (same as HP, different from Verbatim) which is a nuisance, however you can find adapters if necessary.
