Got this on sale last month to replace a dual core 5200, and the best difference is in games like GTA4 and BFBC2, they run much smoother now. Make sure your power supply can handle this and everything else. The stock fan is pretty loud, so I put on a Scythe Mugen2, now it doesn't go over 44C, not sure how the other guy said his stays at 26

Very pleased using with my my Asus M2NSLI Deluxe Mboard. Will likely keep this proc and upgrade the Mboard at some time, tho the M2N has such a great spread of connectivity with legacy and current devices.Your company does it again!

You cant go wrong for the price. Great performance day after day. I do recommend buying an after-market heat sink. The stock heat sink does the CPU no justice!(This will void your warranty) I went with the Arctic Cooler 64 which was a breeze to install and has my cpu running at a steady 26 C.

Well first Id like to say I'm an AMD homer so me saying these things pains me. Seems as though I got a bad one. Tried and tried to make it work, talked to AMD tech several times and after updating, reinstalling everything on my computer this unit still was VERY unstable and failed AMD OverDrive's stability testing almost right off the bat. I guess they don't run them through a real thorough test when they bust them out of the die and package them. They just hope quality of the die and spot checks makes it good. I'll be trying another AMD processor but not this one. It gets good reviews but it didn't work for me

It took a while for the processor to get to me, because for some weird reason, UPS claimed they couldn't find my address. Which forced me to go pick the package up. I didn't want to deal with UPS not finding my address and potentially sending my product back. However, other than that, it's been excellent, no regrets in purchasing this product! I'll purchase again if I have the opportunity to, for another system that takes this processor!

What can I say what hasn't been said here. Its a GREAT CPU. Replaced my AMD9150 (1.8 mhz quad) with this cpu and, all I can say is was the best bargain I ever got!. Very easy to install, and my mobo recognized the new cpu. Went from a cpu Windows Vista score of 5.6 to a wooping 7.0!!

I have both the AMD and Intel Quad Processor and the AMD is one of my best buy. I have 2 of them now and its been great for both computers. The only difference between the AMD and Intel is the price! AMD offers the best price with no shortage in quality.

Put this into Gigabyte MA790X-UD4 MOBO, loaded Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and put in 8gb memory, with a Saffire ATI Video card. All has worked with no problems. Loaded my AutoCad 2009 Archdesktop 64bit and many 32bit programs. Everything is flawless and fast, love the 64bit world, tried this a few years ago and it was terrible. Would recommend all of the above!

I've changed from a 3.0ghz duo core to a 2.30ghz quad core but I truly don't see the difference. I edit video and that is why I went quad core but I...I can't tell any difference. I really wish I could!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First a quick "thanks" to this retailer...the order was processed, shipped and deliverd exactly as promised. GREAT JOB! I wouldn't use this CPU for a hardcore game machine but, it will definately multi-task a lot of applications without generating a lot of heat. At 95W I expect to run this machine for a minimum of 5 years and possibly 10 years as I have all my other builds. This processor is used with an ASUS M3A78-T board, 8-Gigs of ram, Nvidia 9600 video card and 750 Gig Segate drive. Running Ubuntu 9.04 OS, Open Office, Blender, QCad, Firefox, and Sun Virtual Box (...all open source) along with my purchased copy of Win-XP as guest. Everything runs without issues or errors. I've not been able slow it down or stop this system yet with more applications running than I can recall. Now my wife wants one.....why not....Christmas isn't that far away. (Note: Total build cost for the "Box" was $500.00 which is very reasonable for the computing horsepower you get.

There's not much more to say. This is a 'Killer' unit. I've only had it for about a month, but this CPU flat-out Rocks. And the price and delivery are the norm from here.

I've been using AMD since my 900 MHz Thunderbird system from quite some time ago. And once again, I'm reminded why. Compilations that used to be in the 10-30 minute range on my previous machine will now happen in under a minute with multiprocessor make on. For more standard use, no amount of multitasking seems to be able to slow it down. And all for a very good price.
