Functions fantastic and keeps HDD very cool. Kinda major. Close fit btw finish of cooler and my PS, but then again I'm only utilizing a factory gateway case.... It was a discomfort to install for me due to the fact I had to mod my case. The cooler wasnt the blame for this although. I just have a horrible case atm.

Not loud, either that or the noise already created by my pc covers it. The tiny wheele to controle fan speed is genuinely smaller and the study out doesnt light up unless you hit a button then shuts off in a min I dont feel this will genuinely boost my computer system a lot but I like it. Nice looks and cant hurt if you have a little additional funds to blow.

Great coolingfan controller that essentially performstemp & rpm monitoring doesn't match in thermaltake armor case, the unit is bit taller then the five.25 bay mounting tabs permit. Requires some modification to the case or unit to make it fit.

looks greatCheap came with motor disconnected from motor mount, and missing 1 of the screws to mount it (one screw pulled loose but nevertheless in mount, the other was gone) it was a fantastic issue that I took off the prime cover to look at mounting the harddrive and saw that the motor and fan had been just kinda sitting loose.loudwhen I turned on the fan to test that almost everything worked, the fan expected a slight push to get it going. immediately after a couple of starts and stops, it functions when i turn it on now.temp reader cable significantly to long, requiring it to be stuffed up beside the harddrive much less it catch in a fandifficulty mounting- the mounting holes are at the incorrect level to line up with the holes on my case If you get this, make confident that the fan motor is actually held in prior to you turn it on, and make certain that you have a fantastic selection of screws on hand, as it is not a typical size. some graphite on the bearings may possibly assistance with the fan not wanting to start, and you may possibly have to drill holes to mount it.

My HDD matched ideal up and mounted fantastic. Temps are down, fan is quiet. Lack of install directions. Cannot hear it over anything else in my tower, even on high. Opened box, installed, runs great. I do not know what the other folks are complaining about, maybe work for yet another business.

relatively really after i fixed it (see other thoughts)did significantly decrease my temp by 18 degrees from 99f to 81f and this is only with the fan on low had to fool around with it... and figure out the loud noise. had to also dissasemble the thing to get at every thingtight squeeze was kinda annoying also energy cable came dissconected. so figured that out...opened it all up and conected it. place it back in set anything up turned the comp on....sounds like a 747 divebombing a completely loaded tank. sound was horrific. then opened it once more and now it purrs. dont Actually know what was creating the fan sound like that but i guess i fixed itget what you payed for so whatev i was expecting it but now its sick so all of the...uum...20+ minutes was rather properly worth it.by the way im taking it up with newegg that my shipping took six buisiness days instead of 3...and i payed for rush shipping so im kinda angry but anyways if i were you and you want to pay low-cost for very good top quality this is a good purchase

Quite good. Open construction probably will allow for heat to disipate far more effortlessly. LCD lightup display is great hunting, as is the rest of the product. Shows RPM also insteado of just temp (C/F). I expected it to be slightly much more quiet on max, but it's nevertheless barely noticable over the other sounds of my laptop. At low, it's indistinguishable. Keeps my HDD about 12C cooler than what my previos cooler did.

Genuinely Nice Looking When installed. Fantastic notion to have a screen with temps on it. Makes monitoring your system simple. The LED display quit working after about ten minutes. The only way to get it working once more is to open case and pull energy plug then replug in. I wish the LED light stayed on all the time. It is really cool seeking.Loud and raddles if you crank up the rpm. Just constructed this computer and will only put the very best in it. This solution didnt even come close to cutting it.

Functions best, as extended as you mount the HDD back away from the fan and front of the cooler. the brackets have to be installed properly for specific case forms. Affordable situations, tiny, 15"- 16" instances are the WORST for fit... as the inside mounting areas are flimsy and never the exact same. plus, being soooo modest- why would you require a HDD cooler? Just add a 120mm fan at the front, solder in a 56ohm 5w iron ferride resistor and do the same for the back- if the back has space for two 80mm's, do the identical, and Nonetheless, plug them into the motherboard... the resistors will not harm anything, you are equalling the intake/exhaust pressure. I am so tired of know-it-alls' who complain about items they purchase from newegg and the other Large 3, then turn appropriate about and complain about what they don't know. Look-up all information. before you spend. OR- send me the $$ and I'll invest it wisely- put it to good use... if you think you wasted it so a lot of times, let me waste it for you on the exact item you would have wasted it on.. except, it wouldn't be a waste to me... HA! Also, if you are on the phn. to a Newegg sales Rep. and they tell you that a specific item is just what you need to have and will function well with your motherboard, or whatever- they are 99.375% Suitable - nearly appropriate ALL OF THE TIME! But, they won't tell you that this item is obsolete, it is the final 1, and even though it runs in SLI and they have no more, they will not be acquiring any longer and niether will XFX! THIS is the ONLY Purpose why I no longer buy from newegg! I nonetheless back them on their sales, the Getting Deptmt.'s decission on which items to sell and how they Represent their lines of goods!

I like the front LED that displays the current temperature. I also like the frame construction. There were no instructions included with the box. The web page wasn't valuable on exactly where to spot the temperature reading wire. I bought 6 of these for my server. I identified that placing the temperature reading wire on the bottom of the tough drive gave me a pretty correct temperature reading.

Keeps Difficult Disk cool and shows you the temperature on the front. Also has a variable speed fan. The mounting holes are not common, but it is not a major issue. Two of the screw holes are aligned appropriately (one on each side) which seems to helod it into the bay just fine. It is a small loud, but only when the fan speed is turned up high. Extremely fantastic unit for the cost.

They operate quite nicely - they keeps the wd raptors cool looks good and the readout is a fantastic option The readout dosen't operate half the time on a single of them, but I'm too lazy to pull it out and get a replacement. I have ƒ) and the other one is fine. The drives are mirrored so I only need to have the temp on 1 of them. I read a handful of critiques on these with the exact same complaint test your solutions before shipping - or dont throw them in the box from across the space? oh and make certain the wires can't get near the squirlcage.

It will cool your tricky disk some if you can install it. Holes do not fit typical screw places for any of my Five laptop circumstances or the nice sliders on my newest case. Fan requirements attention to decrease noise. Temperature monitor cord is a mile too extended. Size is slightly too big. I lastly got rid of it to try a diverse one particular.

Looks quite cool, digital display and all. Popped my 200GB SATA in there np, soon my 500GB will usurp it. Loudest piece of my system, whines when it's on low and roars when it's on high. It doesn't maintain me from sleeping, but I Truly know my pc is on. Alright, this is how it is. I don't comprehend why I maintain obtaining these, it just makes so much more sense to have a typical 80 or 120mm fan blowing across a HDD. It will probably cool as nicely, if not superior, for much less income and for less struggle. This product performs its function nicely, and it's almost certainly 1 of the additional elaborate devices (see fans strapped to front face panel for proof) for HDD cooling out there. The value isn't wonderful, but it's reasonable.

Temperature dropped to 25 degrees celsius from ㅛ. The 'dial' actually functions - a lot of probable rpms. The noise difference on the highest vs lowest speed is minimal. The price is proper. The mounting was problematic in that the screw holes are not for common mounts in instances which is strange. Some folks go to extremes and drill new holes in this product; it is thick and you will want a fantastic drill and bit. It's not considerably of a dilemma to mount though if you are fine with much less screws. Would have given a five if it were not for the mounting.
