Cons: only one dampener foam to install one hard drive. Cable could be longer

Pros: Very stylish. Amazing build quality, Great extras.
Like another reviewer said, the picture doesn't do this enclosure justice in every respect. even the pouch that it comes with screams quality when you touch it. The speed is great and I don't see the microusb plug failing anytime soon by how tight a fit it forms with the cable. If there are any update s to my review. I'll come back and update  my review accordingly. Right now, it's a must buy especially if you see it on sale.

Cons: The paint coat on the one I got is not perfect, and has visible areas where the painted area is thin and you can see the aluminum underneath it slightly. It looks like its powder coated? The ends of the case are plastic, would have been nice if they were also aluminum.

Pros: Carrying caseColour white with a simple design
Overall I am satisfied with the product. It looks nice and sleak.Works well, and it seems durable, but time will tell. The carrying case is soft and thick.

Cons: SATA2 speeds only, drive held by friction against sponges, plastic sides feel weak

Pros: rock solid booting windows 8 on it and gaming, beautiful design, aluminum construction, speedy transfer speed, high quality traveling pouch and usb3 cable
.BUILT QUALITYthis is a high quality finish with full aluminum body, other than the two plastic ends that open up for you to slide the drive into. the photos do NOT do this enclosure justice. after looking through over 40 other models, this one stands heads and shoulders in the looks department above all others.however, it does NOT feel as solidly built as my Vantec steel built models but that's subjective without conducting empirical drop  tests. the Vantec work horses i use for professional work are bulkier, uglier, and slightly louder in comparison. not to mention at least twice as expensive, unless on a really good sale..PERFORMANCEtransfer speed maxes out around 250MB/sec because it's got a SATA2 controller (NOT SATA3). while compatible with SATA3 drives, this enclosure won't operate at SATA3 speeds. this is NOT a problem in the real world performance unless you wish to use it with a very fast SSD, in which case, one should expect to pay 10 times more and get a professional product via thunderbolt/eSATA.i've been using a 1TB 7200rpm drive and this enclosure handled it with easy, giving me 120MB/s transfer rates. You can expect a fast enough SSD to give around 250MB/s through this enclosure, which should be plenty of speed for most applications..REAL WORLD APPLICTIONthe amazing thing is i use it to run windows 8 enterprise from my MacBook Pro. booting from it, running my PC games off of it and it's rock solid giving me great stability and gaming performance. my Windows 8 running on this enclosure is entirely self-contained, meaning I can plug this thing into any MacBook Pro with similar hardware and boot to Win8 to play my games, leaving no trace on the computer itself. in fact, if i cared to, i can walk into any snooty Apple Store with this enclosure and play a Windows game on any MacBook Pro on display (unless they disable boot from USB on displayed models). nevertheless i shall like to try one of these days just to see the reactions on genius' faces :).GAMINGi've spent hours of continuous online borderlands 2 play without any hiccups and the enclosure gets only slightly warm with a 7200rpm drive. this is impressive for a $20 (or less if you shop around) enclosure..VALUEi've spent (read: threw away) a lot of money on enclosures over the years (which include expensive Lacie, Buffalo, G-Tech portable thunderbolt drives that i cracked open to use as ridiculously expensive enclosures). yet this enclosure is not only the most rock solid, cool running, best looking one, it's also the most affordable. .VS THUNDERBOLTdon't bother using a thunderbolt portable drive as enclosures at this point. they all suffer from lack of power issues. the bigger the drives/SSDs, they more power they draw and the current crop of thunderbolt portable drives (apart from maybe the new G-Tech) i've bought all become highly unstable when using bigger capacity mechanical drives/SSD (over 250GB). performance on thunderbolt isn't that much better over USB3. neglegible for most gamers, so unless you're doing professional HD movie editing and mass photo filter processing, you'd be much better served with a solid USB3 enclosure than going with a thunderbolt solution..CONCLUSIONonly time will tell how well it will stand up to the punishments i dish out to all my gears but for the price, no other equipment has given me more value, fun, and also hit a stunning high note on esthetics. bravo! Mediasonic and the Taiwanese guys who build these fun toys for the rest of us on such an incredibly affordable price.happy gadgeting all!
