4 heat pipes, optional push-pull configuration if you add a second fan, e7300 @ 4ghz idles at 27c in my somewhat cold bedroom. xigmatek crossbow is overpriced- I'm confident most persons would spend ŭ more if it have been incorporated with the heatsink. this would also aid stay away from situations in which individuals purchase a crossbow intended for use with a distinct heatsink

* High efficiency heat transfer - not only will it preserve you CPU cool, you will drop from full load temps down to idle temps speedily, thanks to the 4 direct-touch heatpipes* Medium 93mm size - the size of this cooler is a fantastic balance in size, massive sufficient to dissipate heat effectively, but slim enough to match into some tight spots (see Other Thoughts).* Included fan pushes a great volume of air versus noise level for a 92mm fan, as effectively as getting PWM compliant* Rubber fan mount system makes it possible for for versatile fan positioning - also sufficient mounts included for 2 fans (only 1 fan incorporated, on the other hand) * Aluminum fins bend relatively effortlessly* AM2 mounting approach could be much better, allows only a single orientation - crosswise to rear exhaust fan - despite the further grooves reduce into the mounting block. It is also feasible to mount the cooler with out covering the entire CPU, a thing to watch for. I managed to squeeze this into a mATX case with a Chenming layout (see Apevia X-QPack series for an instance), which usually has a cooler height limit of 72mm. But mainly because of the slim shape of the HDT-964, it (w/o fan mounted) will just fit between the longitudinal help beam and the PSU. And if you mount the fan about five fins down from the best, it will match snugly below thePSU, with the added bonus of getting the hot air exhausted out of the case by way of the PSU fan, if you set the heatsink fan to pull air by way of the HS, as an alternative of pushing through it. You will have to eliminate the PSU to do the above.Low-profile HSF's below 72mm in height are not commonly efficiency oriented, considering that most lack heatpipes and/or are big-block aluminum types. The increase in efficiency from my old cooler was dramatic. With a Phenom II 720, idle temps dropped from ӲC more than ambient temp to an astounding ӭ.5C more than, and 100% load temps dropped from ㅊC to ӵC more than.

Fantastic cooling performance on my AMD 7750 X2. Got this to replace the inadequate stock HSF and it performs admirably. Keeps it at 23C idle and mid-40s below load. Direct-touch heatpipe design is nice. Included PWM fan is quiet and easy to set up. I didn't purchase two. I purchased this simply because I was tired of the stock HSF revving up and sounding like a small vacuum cleaner just to keep the CPU at a decent temp. Not only does this a single cool it way superior, but it does it with substantially much less noise. Taking into consideration acquiring an additional for my Intel Q9450.On a side note, this cooler can only be mounted with the fan pointing up or down on an AMD motherboard. Not truly a con but just an FYI.

Good cooler for the price. Mine integrated the AMD brackets (as properly as intel) which let me mount it so it exhausts out the rear (shipped from the Edison NJ warehouse). Keeps my unlocked to x4 555BE (oc'd to 3.7) at ㅥC beneath complete load in a ㅾF room. Not truly a con but the amd brackets are some sort of plastic. They actually appear pretty tough just don't over tighten the thumb screws. Use your fingers not a screw driver. When they get snug you're very good don't crank them all the way down. Fan can be a tiny loud at complete blast. Not negative. But if you properly set the sensible fan power management in the bios it shouldn't even hit 2800rpm unless you're seriously pushing the cpu. It's pretty quiet otherwise.Fan clears my regular size DDR3 no challenge on a Biostar A880G+. If you have a single of these huge heat sinks coming over the best of your ram you may have a problem with the first slot depending on your board.Make sure to do some measuring about your board and case to make sure it will match. The specks hear are precise. Also make confident you tint the heatsink and cpu. After that I applied a thin coat more than the whole base rather of the "center dot" as I didn't trust my Arctic Silver (didn't use stock previous) to spread evenly more than the heatpipes. Incredibly satisfied with my buy.

performs well, wonderful worth, works good as fanless heatsink for low heat CPUs, lots of mounting alternatives doesn't come with Intel CPU mounting plate only Push-Pin clip. I required a excellent heatsink that could be applied with out a fan for my house theater Pc and this is a fantastic alternative. It keeps my Celeron E3300 beneath 40C with only the case fans running at low speeds, which keeps my HTPC really quiet.

- huge, but not obscene.- really fit in my case.- I can't comment on temps since I by no means utilised the stock HSF. - finishing on bottom is ok, heat pipes makes it impossible for smooth/gapless contact. Do not use the grease that it comes with, choose up some decent stuff of your deciding on.

great cooler, I have an AMD phenom II x six @ three.5ghz and it maxes out at 50 degrees C...it blows towards the prime of my case, which is good due to the fact i have fans on the best of it, so it just assists even far more. It blows upwards..beware if you dont have fans on the prime of your case...Also..the clip you have to install broke on me..but it's nonetheless secure with three of the four screws it's supposed to have.. ...my cpu doesnt heat my basement up in the winter anymore...so i will need a blanket now :(

Four heat pipes. Quiet fan. Automatically controlled fan. Make sure you order the appropriate retention bracket for Intel. I origanally ordered for E8500, but ordered by error the bracket for the three heat pipe version. I have this cooler passively cooling a Athlon 5400+ 2.8 Ghz Brisbane, on a Biostar TForce board, in a X-Qpack case. Yes it match among the supports. Fan would not clear the PSU so I took it off. Below load gets 48C. Great cooler.

Fits completely inside of an Antec 300. I also purchased the screw on back plate for this cooler so I don't have to deal with the Intel clip mounting technique.

Enormous improvement more than stock Intel cooler that I had to place up with until now. The distinction is VAST (like 20 degrees Celsius in a lot of apps, games, pressure tests). Keeps my stuff cool as can be. Literally. Unless this issue can preserve the processor COOLER than the rest of the motherboard. This is it. Amazing product, exceptional top quality, good fan, really quiet at 1800-2000 RPM, but sounds like a jet engine at 2800 RPM, but that's fine after you put your hand near it and see how substantially air it moves. Not as well heavy! I tied it to the fan grill on my power supply with a tie wrap so that it wouldn't warp my motherboard after it got hot (I was reading evaluations and I saw a person mention some thing about this). Just a precaution. As generally, intel's push pins took a load of force to get in appropriately and I'm always scared of snapping my motherboard... But that's not Xigmatek's fault. I'm too low-cost to obtain the brackets... :P My fault. This is surely one of the best, if not THE very best bang for your buck CPU cooler. Ever. In my opinion. :D

Got this to replace an XP-90 that was generally a discomfort to remove and install. By far the HDT-SD964 was a breeze to install in comparison. Even even though there are 4 heatpipes there are essentially eight pipes transferring heat to the aluminum fin array. With an Intel CPU it allows the CPU fan to perform with the case exhaust fan to really move the warmer air out of the case. Can be employed with another 92mm fan in a push/pull mixture. Push pins are incredibly fragile. I broke one of them accidentally. I ended up receiving the ACK-I5363 bracket for backplate mounting instead, which I extremely advise if you have an high priced video card below your CPU. I do not trust push pins even with this light of a heatsink. 92mm fan is loud under complete load but PWM enables you to run it extremely quiet via BIOS settings. At this price tag it's a steal. I might get a different when it is in stock again.I would rather they charge slightly additional to consist of the ACK-I5363 bracket. Receiving that makes it possible for you to set up the heatsink across many Intel sockets.Lowered my temps slightly from the XP-90 that I was using and at least now I can use memory with larger heatsinks. The rubber mounts for the fans are held securely in place so do not worry about the fan possibly falling off.

This point dissipates a lot of heat for one thing of its size. On typical, its only about two degrees warmer than the Scythe Mugen 2 Cooler I have in my other rig. Each are cooling E5200's OC'd to 3.67ghz with exact same voltages in the identical case (I build Computer's for persons and frequently use the identical components), so its a quite correct comparision. The Scythe Mugen 2 is about twice the size of this point although, so if you have a smaller sized case, then this is the heatsink you need to appear at. Doesn't come with the backplate, which is a need to in my opinion for this heatsink. The Backplate that you want is the Xigmatek ACK-17753 Crossbow backplate. The pushpin mounting design and style is truly negative and so Xigmatek makes a little further dollars by promoting the backplate separate from the cooler. Most likely the finest smaller low-price range cooler. The screw strategy is more pleasant to set up and must reduce temperatures a small also. This was extraordinarily challenging to set up until I identified it needs substantially a lot more motherboard flex than I was utilised to with the stock coolers. If you are employing too substantially force pushing down the pins, make positive your motherboard screws are not overly tight! It demands to flex.

Really good heatsink. The price is also really good.CPU is running at 32C idle, and 37C operating Prime95; this is with a 15% overclock according to speedfan. It was a bit harder to set up it, and it didnt truly appear too steady when put in the case (It slid a slight bit on the CPU). Really impressed!

Given that this fan weighs significantly less than my stock s939 Opteron 180 HS, I was intially skeptical of its possible effectiveness. Nevertheless, the evaluations were spot on and this heatsink does cool well offered its size. Temps hover about 50c with a modest 200mhz overclock, which is acceptable provided the price tag.Stock speed and HS temps have been 56c. 1. The fan gets loud at complete load. (I'm working with a rheostat to preserve it at a continual 1900rpm, which is barely audible.)two. Without a doubt, this was THE most frustrating installation of a heatsink/fan I have ever carried out. It is astounding that soon after designing such an effecient cooler, Xigmatek couldn't create an much easier fan mount. Make positive that you're definitely certain you won't will need to re-adjust the heatsink when it's locked, else you'll spent an annoying handful of minutes removing the fan just to unlock/reset the heatsink. I'm dreading the day I want to reapply the AS 5.If you worth your time, install the fan Soon after you attach the HS.

it appears to cool the cpu with out even the fan turned on. I have i7 940, with Antec DF-30 case. The cpu fan is noticeably noisy. I had to unplug the cpu fan. Since the Antec DF-30 has two case fans nearby Ƒ rear and 1 top rated, 120mm and 140mm fans), the cpu appears to be carrying out ok. I'd like to swap out the cpu fan to a quiet one particular, if everyone has ideas how to get one particular to fit the current xigmatek heatsink.

I have this on an AMD 9850 , 1 of the hottest cpu's on earth , and I run 31C at idle and 42C at complete power. I am also making use of the fan that came with the heatsink. Fantastic unit. Fits with plenty of space in a mid-tower case. Runs quiet also. Did not come with a clip for AMD. It has a significantly nicer screw down program. I had to take away the motherboard to mount it. Directions had been useless. I had to figure it out myself. This point is rather tall. Will not match a micro-tower really nicely. I leveled the bottom with a fine file to make it flat. It didn't take a lot perform. It was pretty flat to begin with. I also applied Arctic Silver paste. The stuff that came with it is pretty thin. Also , you can mount it to blow towards the leading , bottom, or rear of your case with the screw down system.

Fits in my NZXT Vulcan micro-ATX case.Exceptional price/performance ratio.Really properly packaged.Kept my Phenom II X6 at 17ቮC idle and 57C completely loaded (Prime 95) at 4 Ghz multiplier overclock. Misleading directions, slightly difficult installation (see other thoughts). Instruction manual provided only referenced the usual "clip" installation approach for AMD processors. In fact, this HSF did not consist of a clip but a set of brackets and screws for both Intel and AMD chips. At initial I was annoyed due to the fact I figured I had been sent the incorrect product. As soon as my brain kicked in I realized that due to complaints about the AMD clip Xigmatek must have changed the retention mechanism and did not update the user manual.I went to their help website and downloaded a user manual for their similar HDT-S963F model. This PDF manual had directions on how to use the bolt-on retention mechanism. Immediately after modifying the motherboard mounts with these offered and installing this point appropriately I was blown away by it's overall performance. I now favor this to the stock clip for sure!I did not lap the sink or do anything except bolt this negative boy on. Following seeing what this factor does I right away wanted to purchase several a lot more for all of my other computers. Extremely Impressed
