Place this processor in my new gaming computer. No troubles yet. Runs Crysis two smoothly (in combination with a GTX 460). Good processor, certainly worth saving dollars over the Intel equivalent! This does not detract from my rating of the CPU, but I do want to mention that the included heatsink was an absolute pain to set up, and the directions were nearly useless. I was afraid I was going to snap my mobo simply because it's needed to push down (firmly) on the retaining clips to make them attach onto the mobo. Even right after obtaining the point attached, you have to then pull the lever to tighten the clips even further... I was sweating this installation course of action! But I suppose that's how it's supposed to be carried out, as I lastly went ahead and tried to use physical force and I got it on nice and tight with out breaking anything! Fortunately, I had come across a YouTube video of someone installing this extremely heatsink, and it created me really feel a complete lot far better about what I was about to do.

the only cause why im providing it four eggs is mainly because of the stock cooler that comes with it. i believe its a smaller 80mm fan. (correct me if im incorrect.) and it doesnt truly do a ideal job to cool the cpu down..anyways about the excellent stuff, its taking me ten seconds to load crysis 2 when hitting the commence button, four seconds on assassins creed brotherhood, and four seconds on mafia 2.this cpu does a superb job, and also retain in thoughts, the loading time are with the cpu at a stock clock. xDDD not overclocked. i strongly suggest u get a new cooler as an alternative of utilizing the stock cooler my specs.msi amd 870 mobosapphire 6850 1gb8gb ddr3 ram 򜤵 mhz500gb hd @ 7200rpmusing stock cooler for now, but will be switching to the cooler master hyper 212 later.for those of u who just wanted to know the specs u need to have to have these loading instances for game.

Speed, Overclocking, high quality cooler Undoubtedly invest in an additional cooler. For my mild wants i thought the stock would be sufficient. it's by no implies operating hot at 105* F. But as soon as you start out pushing the chip you can see it providing way. that's the ONLY cause this got a four. but it's free of charge and included.. so what can i truly anticipate

Okay initially thing is this CPU is fairly rapidly. Im coming from a Intel core two duo, and i have to say im truly liking the AMD X4 955!!!!Proper now i have it OC to three.5Ghz, and 1.33 V. Stock Voltage is 1.four but thats just a little to high. I ran LinX strain test for 1ᛆ and in no way hit passed 58C!! If you plan to OC get a new cooler, but the stock cooler is fairly fantastic. Other then that its a STEAL for the cost!! NONE! Quick for what you pay!!!!

Speedy and stable at stock speed. Heat sink operates effectively at stock clock. At 3.7GHz, the stock cooler is at it's limit - 62c at complete load. None I'm now working with this with a Corsair H50. At four.0GHz it's at 42c and rock solid stable.

It's quickly at every thing that's thrown at it and the Stock Cooler is pretty quiet (maybe mainly because of where the pc is placed) it can get loud even though. For example, Overclocked to 3.4GHz it stays flat at 56c in prime95 and idle it drops down to a low 32-34c Can't Overclock pass 4GHz easily It's excellent you get what you pay for, Hell.. its Excellent!

this chipset is just wonderful. it is a great bang for your buck BE phenom CPU. starting at 3.two out of the box is great but even with stock cooling i am running at 3.six and don't break 60C with decent aftermarket cooling you are simply seeking at 4.0Ghz Quadcore. incredibly steady, easy to OC and just a beast N/A this is a greater bang for you buck than the 965 simply because it overclocks just as well as the 965, and if your not overclocking then you don't need the BE chips anyway

Decent chip , Overclockers dream affordble four core Ok i dont know what go's threw AMD's head but why would you ever put such a junk CPU fan on . This fan is by far the worst CPU heat sink and fan ive ever employed. Its low cost , it modest so when it turns on its like obtaining a bee buzzing in my ear. Get A far better CPU fan and sink , you will be insulted utilizing this piece of garbage.

-Excellent base clocks with LOTS of area to OC with-Am3 socket tends to make even quite a few right after industry coolers a breeze to set up-Expense for processing energy is extremely great -Quite hot but is intel counterpart runs hotter-Stock fan is no very good fr overclocking, get a zalman 9900 for sick numbers!-125 power hungry chip, make certain your powersupply and mobo will support it got to 4.2 ghz with 9900 zalman cooler, LC could make it to 5 if you went large

This is a excellent CPU even although it is acquiring sort of old. This will be two generations old here this summer when Bulldozer drops. It is nonetheless a excellent price range performer though. Overclocks like a beast. Stock cooling was loud as hell!! I fixed that with the Hyper 212+. Excellent price for a very good performer. It's receiving old. I want I would have waited for Bulldozer, but I required a rig now.

Obtaining not constructed a method in six plus years, came as shock that it comes with a decent seeking heatsink. Not genuinely a con, but the cpu fan appears rather modest. Not planning on OC'ing as I am a relative noob, but could contemplate it down the line.

Stock heat sink is 1 of the nicest stock units I've come across. Although I admit its been a couple of years because I purchased a processor. Possessing an unlocked processor is genuinely good. Less complicated to play with than the celeron 300A's from back in the day. I haven't played with AMD CPU's considering that the old cartridge Ath's. This seems a lot far more refined and hopefully more steady. Id like to see the price tag come down much more, It was hard to justify going AMD at this price with the Sandy bridge CPU's out. But its what my son wanted. The stock heat sink is Modest mid range model with heat pipes. This alone makes it worth receiving over the 555. Throw the Assure of 4 cores more than the 2 core guarantee on the 555 and it appears hard to justify not going with the 955. (this CPU replaces a defective 555 so I've had them both side by side brand new.)

-Effortless to overclock-Been capable to get it up to three.8GHz by means of air cooling. -If you're going to overclock, please do obtain one more heatsink and fan. The highest speed I was able to get on stock was three.4Ghz. Something greater was unstable.

Upgraded from a athlon three core running at three.2. I upgraded only since of some cpu intensive games other than that no need to upgrade. I purchased an right after market place cooler because of all the other testimonials saying you really should. I changed the multiplier so its operating at 3.six with no voltage increases. I did not try to run it with a voltage increase simply because there is no need and dont want to worry about heat. My only real complaint is it runs a lot hotter than my 3 core. My 3 core would in no way get over 42 with stock cooler. This puppy runs up to 54 with an soon after market cooler in intensive gaming. Suprisingly operating super Pi to 8 million areas it only goes to 46 haha. In normal operation idles about 35. Its winter now so Im concerned in summer season it could inch up to 60 when all four cores are getting taxed. I didnt get a large soon after market cooler as its a micro case so with a larger cooler im confident it would run cooler. Its a 92mm scythe. All in all its a nice bang for the buck but to be sincere wouldnt notice the distinction except in cpu intensive gaming. Sins of a solar empire with 5 computer system opponents and possibly 60 worlds and dozens of fleets is the only point that I genuinely notice this chip really shows how substantially much more highly effective it is than my old chip.
