-Highly overclockable Ɣ.1 ghz on 1.5v with aftermarket air cooling)-Really easily overclockable with unlocked multiplier-Doesn't run extremely hot -Stock heatsink fan is Very loud, but you ought to be replacing this anyway. This is an wonderful CPU, a single of the ideal bangs for your buck. When I purchased it, I was deciding on this or one particular of the new six cores. Nevertheless, I use it largely for gaming, and given that almost no games will take advantage of 6 cores, I decided I'd rather have a quad core with a higher clock speed than a six core with a decrease a single.Overclocking on this factor is a dream. It's merely a matter of rising the multiplier, and then rising the voltage. I was able to hit about 3.eight on stock cooling before it got also hot, and then with a Zalmann cooler I'm hitting 4.1 Idle temp is ㅗ and beneath load it's ㅩ.Just an fyi, AMD says the 62 degrees is the max safe temperature on this CPU, and that you must be secure taking voltage up to 1.55. I'm sitting at 1.five due to the fact I'm not sure if I want to risk it or not.Program Specs:Antec 900 CaseAsus M4A79XTD EVO AM3 MoboMSI GTX 460 1GB Hawk 鿘񳌠񳒈 OC)AMD Phenom II 970 BE X4 Ɣ.1 OCƞgb G.Talent Pc 1600Raidmax 630w PSUZalman CNPS9900M

Extremely potent. Tends to make Windows 7 boot like no one particular's small business. Overclockable like mad. Kicking myself for not carrying out this upgrade sooner! I wanted to spring for the six core, but decided to go with this rather because the price is excellent. I can go 6 core later immediately after Bulldozer comes out and a lot more applications make use of much more cores.

Really effecient. Extremely delighted with the bang for the buck. None Following wrestling with Intel or AMD for a quite long time. I'm really pleased with my option to save some income and get excellent overall performance with my quad core AMD and haven't even over clocked it yet. I'm confident if I locate the want to do so...I can with out hesitation.

Mine performs super fast on Foxconn 880 GMX MATX mb. Far faster than my X6 1055 ever was. For me this is a greater performer than my six core was in all applications. No need to have to overclock. none

Rapid!!!Handles anything i throw at it. Mine had a low stock voltage of 1.33v and runs incredibly cool.Just playing about with the unlocked multiplier got to three.8ghz with stock volts across the board. Appears promising to hit 4ghz as temps are only 50c load with a Zalman CNPS10X Performa with stock fan. none Did i mention Quick adequate stock it needs no OC.

None None I bought this processor for yet another new Pc make, Gaming Computer. Had trouble with the heat sink lock. Way too tight... afraid it would break the plastic lock deal with. Informed New Egg and they replaced it. Installed the new set, and the lock worked. So far it is functioning fine. I gave it three eggs due to the fact I haven't utilized it substantially... I have too several Pc's! I have 12 working Computer's in the home...

Quickly, economical, overclockable (is that final a single truly a word...) three.5 GHz quad core this is pro! In higher end utilizes doesn't execute on par with the prime end Intel i7 chipset ... by the way is anybody else bothered by the generic use of i to capitalize of the fame of apple items. For the average user... and most non-typical users this CPU will perform amazingly and it price 1ǚ of the price of the comparable chips from Intel. It's a no brainer if you want an amazing CPU but you don't want to spend out the nose for functions you wont use get an AMD Phenom II

finest gaming cpu in terms of price tag/performancestable, no compatibity problemsplays old and new games without having a hitch not as quick as some of the intel cpu (which are way more high priced) not as fast as some of the intel cpu's but, thinking about its price tag, its the choice for the cost conscious (or unemployed) gamer

3.5 Ghz devoid of Overclocking Didn't overclock effectively. Applied this with a CM Hyper 212+ cooler and an ASRock Deluxe4 MB. Maximum stable OC has been three.8Ghz with 1.3875V. Something less than 1.3875V caused instability at this speed. Default voltage and clock also had been steady. Temps are greater than I like -- 53-54C at load. Northbridge operating at 13x clock. Could not boost clock higher than 200 with a 19X multiplier and keep stability. I enhanced voltage to 1.450V hoping to achieve stability at four.0Ghz but it didn't function. Didn't have the nerve to go higher than that. Temps have been going more than 60C at that point so gave up. It's almost certainly superior than the Q6600 OC'd to 3Ghz that it replaced but not by as much as I had hoped.Took off heatsink at a single point, cleaned with alcohol and replaced, pondering that the temps could have been a heatsink placement situation but it doesn't look to be. Guess mine might have been a dud -- I'm stuck at 3.8ghz.

It's very polished...overlook what you've heard about this vs. the 955...this thing blows it away. It's not just the further 300MHz OC...it the low temps...they are awsome! None at all. I just upgraded my 955 to this (OC 3800MHz 24ǝ for 2 years), and I'm immediately capable to OC to 4165 MHz. It idles at 35C with 1.5v / loads to 44C on air, 17.five Multi, and 238 MHz bus speed. I knew what to anticipate beforehand...and the cost is proper! Intel was sensible for releaseing the i7 2600k...and if I had the right mobo, I might have attempted that...but...I don't. This was a extremely expense-efficient upgrade for my Crosshair III mobo. I'm AMD loyal, but only since of the cost point. Had this no been an incidental upgrade (old 955 going into my kid's construct), I'd have gotten that 2600k. I consider I'll wait for the Bulldozer & see how that complete thing pans out. For now...I'm getting a blast with BC2 & MakeMV Blurays:)

She runs wonderful, no issues. Games and encoding vids just got more rapidly...about 4 to 5 occasions as rapid--I upgraded from the Athlon X2 250u. Good multitasker. Ideal mid-high end proc for the income, even though if you're Really seeking to save the $, go for the 965. But if you want to overclock (and honestly, I don't need to have to) then get the 970. Not sure why, but they are sending these with that aluminum-foam stuff alternatively of common thermal compound. I tried it out though, booted up, checked my temps...I kid you not, I was operating at 97 degrees CELCIUS! I'm not certain why this champ didn't explode suitable then and there...but I'm positive I probably took like 6 months of it's general lifespan doing that. So anyway, I took off the heatsink and carefully scraped some old thermal compound off the old proc and delicately wiped it on the new. On went the heatsink, booted up, temps are now 32 idle - 48 load at stock speed. Which is what most other individuals are obtaining as well. Not as well shabby. Extended story brief, get some thermal grease, it'll SAVE you! Also, like quite a few others have stated, the stock fan is TERRIBLE. at idle, its fine, but play a game or anything and loud she gets. Stock heatsink is fine, IMO, just the fan sucks. C'mon, AMD, give us a much better fan! So, -1 egg for the weird foam factor and the loud fan. All up in cons

Window Experience Index 7.4Unlocked MultiplierIt works, what else can i say The stock fan is as well small. Mine measures 70mm. The heat sink itself looks quite very good. I want AMD would come up with an adapter to put on an 80mm fan. I assume that would support in most situations. i've spent a few hours hunting at aftermarket coolers but i dunno. I cant actually complain about excessive heat. Idle temps are generally around 30 degrees celcius and below load about 50, but i have a great case; Cooler Master 690II advanced. In the final week i put in a far better graphics card and now the temps have gone up about five degrees at idle and about ten degrees below load. Can a graphics card do that? i went from a gts 450 to gtx 460. BTW: if you have dust filters on the exhaust fans, take them out.

Its incredible. Could have spent a bit much more on the x6 one but x4 is much more than capable of carrying out what I require. Appreciate how the processor beneath clocks anytime its not in complete use. Dunno if thats AMD or Windows 7 or something else is doing that but its fantastic as it uses significantly less power. Right now its operating at 800MHz and kicks up the power when it demands to 3.5GHz. Utilizing CPUID for that reading. none

Blazing quick. Mine is operating one hundred% stable at three.8ghz with only a multiplier bump. Could certainly go more rapidly, and had it steady at three.9 for a handful of days before taking it back down to decrease heat, but 3.six is truly all I needed to stay away from bottle-necking my 5870. Low-cost. Voltage from time to time jumps to 1.392 in the course of full 100% load in prime95 according to all my monitoring hardware; either at stock multi or otherwise. This is not uncommon for this chip, nor my board according to my analysis and is in acceptable variety as the max Vcore according to AMD is 1.4. This doesn't truly worry me, but it doesn't leave much area for any overclocking that requires adding voltage since you go outside the the typical and into an area that will most most likely shorten the all round life of your processor. I've heard people say they're running 1.52 or much more through this point, so I don't doubt you can, it's just that I'd rather not.Stock heatsink is rubbish, but I in no way use them anyway. With the 975 that runs stock at 3.6ghz with 1.32 vcore coming soon at about ฤ more, you could go with that and obtain oneself some breathing room to tinker with voltages. Other than that, remarkable cpu.If you want to acquire a whole new motherboard for sandy bridge, or drop a grand on a 980x you WILL get far better overall performance. But if all you want is to get much more out of your AM3 board just before bulldozer and AM3+ later this year, I'd say you can't shed with this.
