Superb price per web page for a printer in this class. Printer drivers function nicely in XP / Vista/ and Windows 7. Both 64 bit and 32 bit drivers are obtainable and function. Drivers are simply deployed. We purchased two HL5370 printers eight months ago. The Ethernet interface has died on each of these machines. They continue to perform fine with 3rd celebration print servers but we can no longer get SNMP info from them employing this technique. An net search reveals several other individuals with this situation so it would seem to be a difficulty with this model. If you are purchasing for use on a network be conscious of this. The printer will report the toner is out when the cartridge reaches 80% empty. To use the remaining toner location a piece of black tape more than the sensor port on the correct hand side of the toner. This will fool the printer into pondering the toner is full and you can use what is left. |

This is a good Printer I have set up on my home network. It is the second Brother. The setup and install of driver is straight forward with no crapware. I have it hooked up via a parallel printer cable for my function laptop since the corporations VPN will block out my home network. My other servers and machines are all connected through wired and wireless. The duplexer is so quick compared to my old HP 4050. So far so good. There is also a hyperlink to Linux install drivers to the Brother website http://solutions.brother.com/linux There is a curl to the paper. Even so, it is practically nothing I can not live with no. I have a heavier bond paper for the significant stuff. Wireless setup is not uncomplicated and needs patience and certain level of wireless networking. Nevertheless, the set up system will assistance automatic configuration if your access point supports that. I would have given it 5 starts if wireless install went smoothly. |

We've got this thing set up to service about 20 computers. It handles the workload in stride, even though we've seldom pushed it to the "limit". Owned it eleven months, and no breakdowns, no issues. Double sided printing is smooth, and a fantastic expense saver. Paper trays are a small flimsy. May well be undesirable if you're playing bull in a china shop. |

Over 52,000 pages printed the first season (About six Months) and she just keeps going! Still just as crisp and clean as she was brand new. Just started season two and we're up to 55,000 pages. (approx. 1Ǚ duplex)(approx. 2Ǚ thick paper). Functions in an industrial plant printing Data placards all day. (Dusty Environment)Super quickly, transportable, good excellent.Certainly a Good Purchase. None Connected by way of a USB Port. Hunting to get a second and third trays so that I don't have to adjust paper so generally. |

The status icon in the job bar is ugly. :) Please assist save our country and vote for Ron Paul in 2012. Thank you for your assistance! |

Quickly, wireless, duplex The wireless set-up was not as straight forward as I would have liked. Using the disk didn't work the initially time, but immediately after assigning a fixed IP address, and letting vista set it up the port with new drivers, it functions just fine. I'm employing Vista x64 sp2I bought this model simply because I have an older version of this printer on my desk at function, and it is incredibly trustworthy. |

This printer is a great monochrome wireless duplex laser printer for little offices and individual use. You can't beat the price tag and the functions of this printer. It saves you income on the front finish (it's cost) and on the back finish by duplexing and saving paper. It's print outs are flawless, and appear wonderful. What else can I say, this factor just plain operates and performs nicely. The initial setup of the printer can be daunting, especially if you had been planning to configure the printer more than the air. More than-the-air initial setup is not achievable. You have to plug the printer into a wired connection, and then configure it. Then you can unplug it and move the printer to where ever you wanted to use it wirelessly. |

This is to address 'Dombre' comments on toner life cycle.Very first I have two of the HL-52xx series at function - more than two years, and a at house MFC-7820 at household going on 2 yrs. Most all Laser Manufactures place starter cart in the box, these are not total charges of toner. So Dombre it sounds like you got excellent mileage our of the original TN cart.I am looking at getting one particular of these due to the fact of the auto Duplex function and it has the three electrical interfaces. Wished these printers came with a totally charged Toner cart in the box. Nonetheless, the value is low, so manufactures strategy on creating the lost leader on printers up by consumables as in toner cart. Brother construct wonderful goods. I like the separate toner drum package they use. The drum has about 3 instances the print cycle life to the quantity of toner that can be crammed in to a modest toner cart. Employing the single toner -drum cart, you are spend for the photo drum you never ever get to use. - Recycle toner carts, use no cost UPS return, or get credit/rebates points at the Office store |

This is worth the price paid for. Prints each sides, wireless, superior excellent, capable to add memory, user friendly, have not had a difficulty right after adding to home network. Expandable add on tray alternative It's a plain box. Market towards tiny workplace use. Curls paper slighly when printing. This is not permanent. Excellent obtain more than all, a "plain Jane" of printers inside it class. Drivers effortlessly install(always up date drivers). Was less costly than getting a new drum and toner for it's little brother. |

Uncomplicated to setup when following directions, wireless works fantastic with WPA and it's wonderful to be capable to print duplex. 702 pages in and barely any toner utilised. Everyhing comes out crisp and clean. none slight curl to the paper but it does go via a ton of heat and drums.. curl at some point unfurls. |

Windows help drivers are rock solid and up to date.Internal webpage server is intuitive and useful. No jams, extremely low price per print.Great speed. paper curling, but that's to be expected with high-temp fuser employed in all laser printers. Regular paper tray isn't enormous. OK for most SOHO uses, even though.Extremely recommended. |

Decent speed, clear print, cost. Broke immediately after running two,000 sheets, spoke with customer service who insisted on a credit card for an RMA. That's just a slap in the face, your item broke, it's below warranty, yet I have to give you my credit card data in order for you to RMA? I asked to be directed to a manager and have been soundly ignored ever given that. My very first handful of emails had been responded to with some time waiting, four emails in over the course of a week now asking for the guy's manager, all ignored. I own a handful of these printers all operating on wireless on my domain, they perform really well soon after initial setup. If you need to have consumer service, you have come to the wrong business. |

Extremely RapidRazor sharp printing Very LIGHT WEIGHT for a laserjet at least..Duplex printing for low cost! The entire printer has a extremely cheap plastic feel to it. It's not the heavy duty plastic that you'd come across on higher end laserjets, it's more like the genuinely lightweight and brittle plastic that you would locate on plastic clothes pins.Envelop printing has a LOT to be desired. To print on envelopes, you will need to pop open the rear panel and flip down a couple levers. Then when you print on envelopes you feed them from the front and they come out the same place paper generally does. Printing on thick paper or envelopes leaves tiny "speckles" of toner on the sheet. If you leave it in thick paper mode and attempt to print thin paper, your print high quality is significantly worse.. If you leave it on thin paper mode and print an envelope, then the envelope comes out all wrinkled and squished like a pancake.Printing a mix of thick and thin paper regardless of whether from the bypass tray or the major tray signifies you'll will need to pop open the rear panel and switch paper thickness lever everytime to preserve top quality. Definitely not a negative printer for the price, but I'm keeping my three deskjets around for color printing and envelopes. I'm making use of this printer exclusively for printing big black&white documents. The duplex on this printer is amazing, operates perfectly everytime.. It does spit paper 3ǚths of the way out and then pulls it back in, but it's not a problem.. Just don't grab the sheet ahead of it's accomplished!Setting it up as a Network shared printer in Windows XP is a little tricky and the instructions don't seriously cover it very properly. If you don't have a computer sharing the printer out on the network, you want to add the printer as a "local printer" and then add a TCP/IP port and then specify the IP address. That's the way to do it without having requiring a committed Computer as a print queue server.Vista and Windows 7 detected the printer by way of PNP instantaneously and was a piece of cake to set up.PCL drivers are much a lot more functional and just, overall, work greater. |

For use in the house, this printer is above par when it comes to laser printing. It prints at a blistering 32ppm, the the double-sided printing saves a lot of time and hassle. Easy wireless setup, took five minutes on my macbook and I never had to plug it in USB. toner can get pricey to replace If you just want black and white prints, simple set up, and a straight forward printer with no frills or headaches, this is the printer for you. |

Very rapidly, excellent print good quality, wireless. The only problem I've had with it is the wireless connection will randomly die and it won't reconnect without power cycling the printer. It will only connect at 802.11b also, won't do 802.11g no matter what I do (has a full signal). Should be some compatibility troubles with my router, despite the fact that nothing else on the network has any problems. |

The printer has adequate possibilities, even though they're not terribly easy to access or set working with the Net-based configuration utility.Print quality is great. Jams very easily on some paper varieties. Firmware update is ridiculously convoluted.Brother help sucks! It's never been really great (and I've owned or worked on a few Brother printers), but initially-level help can't do substantially other than read from a script, and second-level help is impossible to reach! You have to fax second-level support, and they'll call you back when they get about to it--generally days later. Excellent luck attempting to make contact with them once again following that. I've tried three instances, and only heard back when (the first time). They didn't call me when they stated they would, so I wasn't with the client who had the printer issue at the time. I haven't been in a position to reach them considering that. Initial-level assistance can only stick to their script, regardless of what troubleshooting you've already performed or how considerably you know about PCs and printers. I don't know how extended the printer will last, but if it begins to fail, I'm quite sure I won't get any support from Brother. |

I appreciate this printer. Its quick and auto duplexing (when printing double sided, the pages do come out with a slight curl). I can now carry 50 pages rather of 100, not to mention the savings on paper. You can also acquire the tn-650 high yield toner that prints 8000 pages for 83 bux (obviously results may possibly differ). That's Significantly more affordable than HP which charges slightly much less for 2500-3500 page toner. The wireless works excellent with all the pcs on my network, xp, vista and Win7 RC. Slight curl when printing double sided, but not an issue for me. |

WiFi and USB simultaneously.Set up wizard on the disc is effortless to use.Fast, double sided printing and superb print top quality. Printing from a new iMac, an old laptop, and an x64bit homebuilt desktop. Will not do WiFi and Ethernet at the exact same time.Installable GUI is clunky and confusing for the novice (unusable for the newbie). Wonderful Duplex printing at an inexpensive value. |

I got this printer for a super deal at workplace depot so the price tag I paid is tainting my opinion a large amount! This printer is amazing! Sure it has its short falls, insufficient warning lights, and you have to use the internet interface to tell anything about it. I'm not looking for something fancy although I just wanted a monochrome that duplexed and to not have to invest an arm and a leg to get it. Plus if your willing you can just refill your toner cartridge instead of purchasing a new 1 and get even far more bang for your money! I feel this is the greatest worth out there for printers! The manual lied to me it stated that I would typical about 3000 pages prior to I necessary to refill the toner I got a bit below half of that. Now I know it says it would average but I was hoping for closer to 2500 pages... Oh well. Buy a single and then when your toner runs out acquire the refill kit! |

Awesome printer - rapid first page out, effortless setup on wireless, duplexer is great, modest footprint, *** Quite Quiet *** Require to have DHCP server and Cat-5 cable to set up the wireless portion of the printer. I could not get the wireless to setup on a AD-Hoc network as described in the docs. Drivers work excellent for Pc and MAC - would strongly recommend. Also - only has 32 MB ram - can expand to with 256 or 512 SO-DIMM 144 pin Pc 133. Docs in one location state that a 256MB Module is max, other places list 512MB as the max memory module you can add. |

Our company purchased ten of these printers, and we've had them deployed for a handful of months now at remote web sites on a pure wired network (no wireless setup). They print great, and are otherwise incredibly reliable tiny machines. We have them set to a static IP address with APIPA disabled; it is the precise same setup at all areas (corporate standard). No wifi. Then they began failing. What happens is the followingɅ) Printer is humming along happilytwo) Printer randomly loses static IP address setting3) Printer re-enables APIPA4) Printer pulls random 169.xxx.xxx.xxx address5) Wireless is still disabledThe only solution that we've been able to locate for this is to reset the printer completely to default and re-enter all settings from scratch. Updating the firmware did not repair the concern. Nor did utilizing the Brother Network Connection Repair Tool, which won't support in this circumstance; I don't want to update the printer settings on 50+ computer systems for one particular printer only have to revert them later to the common IP address settings we use in our organization.Contacting Brother technical support via phone has been totally useless. The script monkey on the other finish was no help, and there was no tier two help obtainable. There is no answer for this situation at this time other than sending an individual on site and resetting to default. Don't purchase this if you want a printer that can be left devoid of a tech touching it each couple of weeks to reset the darn issue.
