Works as expected except for some minor issues with the setup. I had to override some of the auto settings to get it to recognize my network. Seems to be working well, has excellent range.

This helped extend a hard to work with network at a commercial site. We had tried high powered omni-directional and directional antenna with no luck. With this product we extended the 802.11 network with WPA2 encryption with no issues. Note this does setup the extened network as a new SSID but it still sets up with the Ip ranges as the base AP so everything talks to each other well.

Easy set up, in full operation within 10-15 minutes, even for novice computer users. Currently have two HWREN1's very satisfied with both of them have much larger range for my WiFi network.

I began having trouble connecting my laptop to my home network. Never could figure out what was causing interference. Since installing the Hawking Range Extender, I've been able to connect from all over the house, deck, even the garage. So far it's working wonderfully!

Hi, nothing worked. Couldn't get it to even connect to itself using 192.168.1.240. Couldn't access the device. Couldn't detect it from the included software. Nothing worked. Couldn't get to even step one. Hard wired, I couldn't communicate with device. I would suggest spending more and getting a quality piece of equipment. This isn't it. PASS!

Hawking Extender worked well with a 5 year old, basic Linksys wireless G 2.4 Ghz router. No set-up problems experienced. Just follow the instructions on the CD and plug it in.

Product delivers as advertised. The only issue I've had is that I could not install the range extender with the included software. I had to call tech support (which was readily available) and they installed it.

This product is junk. I may be able to use it as a wireless adapter. I purchased a Netgear dual band router, for $50 more, which has incredible range.

I had bought a cheaper range extender from them and it wouldn't recognize my router. Called tech support and they tried to help me to get it to work, they suggested I upgrade to the Hawking which was a better match for my router. I recieved it in 3 days and was elated with the Easy no hassle set-up that recognized my Linksys N router at once and took less than 5 minutes to go through the whole process. Sent the other one back and had refund within 5 days. This site is great, 5 star customer service! Will definetly do business with them in the future!

Hooked the Extender up to increase signal intensity for 2 Tivo's at the far end of house. Works as advertised and am satisfied with it after install. Despite other reviews, if the default setup does not work, be prepared for bit of work to set it up. The time necessary depends on your experience with networking and how well your router will talk with the Extender. Its not 100% plug and play.

It is relatively easy to configure the Extender for the configuration of your home network. Once configured, it performs as expected. The speed drops off with distance and the type of obstacles in the way of the line-of-site. However, I encountered a problem with Linksys WRT300N router running at 270 MBS. In the Wide-band selection - to achieve 270 MBS -, the Router and the Extender communicate, but network devices can't reach the Internet. In default mode, the Router, the Extender and network devices communicate, but the Router's speed drops off to 130 MBS and the Extender's speed between the Router and network devices reaches 20 MBS.

Like others have said, this device doesn't work well with others. Tried to use it to extend range in a large house but even with their so-called tech support (one time they even said to call back later because the person on the phone couldn't help)I could not get it connected. It's signal strength was great but if it won't connect to the outside world-who cares. Don't waste your time with this. Waiting for Belkin or Lynksys n extender.

The extender seems to work well but it took me over 1.5 hours to setup and only with help from tech support. It seems their software has a 50 50 shot of working and doesnt play well with other products. I had to take many auto settings in my router and direct them to a particular setting just so that these two would talk to each other. I bought a Lynksis version of this about 6 months ago and didnt have any of these issues. so it is purely a Hawkings issue. Very disapointed in their adaptive technology but it does seem to work once you get through the headache of setting it up.

I bought an extreme N router plus a N plug in for my laptop, but the range was still a problem. Then I found this, dropped the N plug in and went back to the built in G LAN, and all of a sudden I have 48 Mps everywhere in my house. All in, I probably don't even need the N router. This really does work like a charm.

This range extender works as advertised without performing any complex setup. I talked my 13 year-old through setup over the phone, which took about 20 minutes. The range is very good, although it makes for better use if you have decent wireless adapters on your systems. It's worth every penny.

when our router goes down, we have no issues with re configuring our range extenders. we are servicing 42 campsites in a very heavily wooded campground, having as much as 600ft between the routers antenna and the range extender. It works, Dlink and Linksys and netgear, couldn't. Customer service (once you get past the India help desk) is phenomenal. Cant' find a better company for our needs. We are frugal and keep trying, but can't.wwwdotputmanlakedotcom

Setup was easy, configured in less than five minutes. However if your main router ever goes down it has an annoying habit of trying to associate to the next closest router. Then you have to reconfigure the device again. No big deal really but rather annoying if you have something to do.
