Needed a replacement because my old cable was breaking up. The ends fits will so there is no movement and the extended end protection helps to maintain rigidity when moving the item it's connected to. |

I'm using this to hook up my Logitech Z-5500 to my HDTV so that I can use my PS3, Xbox and Wii through the Z5500. Cheap and great quality can't say anything wrong on them. |

I have this ION Cables Optical Audio for 6 months and never had any issue with it. It was plug & play out of the box. There is no cons on this cable but I suggest to wait until there is some rebate on it before buying. Still, this is good quality whatever the price paid. |

Pros: - Extremly nice looking!- Can't get a cable that is more resistant than that.- Ridiculously cheap when price-matched at 5.80$ Comment:
Optical cable either work or don't, there is no sound quality difference and it's very unlikely to rust inside ur house unless you have a leak on ur receiver lol so the gold plated is pretty much just for marketing and esthetic. Still... at 5.80$ there is no reason not to get them. |

Got this cable to hook up my samsung receiver and WD media player. plug in and make some changes to receiver and player, then it works perfect. No trouble at all. Good price compare to these sold in Futureshop or Bestbuy. Recommend to anyone who need the cable. |

The quality of construction of this cable is quite impressive. It is very thick and sturdy. It also means the cable is quite stiff.Sound quality wise, it seems very good. Most optical cables shouldn't differ too much in terms of quality (though cheap quality ones will cause distortions in data flow if there are faults along the optical fiber). |

Plugged this into the hdtv to the reciever and all works well. Time will tell how the longevity is, but I imagine if its not touched it will last a long time. The ends are nice a bright and seem to made from aluminum so they should be durable vs plastic.A good cable, would purchase again, 4 stars! |

I picked one up to upgrade the poor quality dog leash that ships with the Forte sound card and apart from the superior quality the Ion optical also provided an very noticeable gain in sound quality. Will order more. |

Rather quickly, Ion has become my number one preferred brand for all my cable needs due to the consistently high-quality build quality/workmanship of their cables coupled with the no-name pricing. Ion cables are every bit as well-designed and manufactured as the so-called premium brands like Monster. Only, I spent $8 on this Ion optical cable on sale here at NCIX, whereas the Monster equivalent would likely cost $50 or more.The cable quality is amazing - the cable is wide, which hints at the fact that Ion did not skimp out on properly shielding the cable; the sleeving is very well done and very sturdy, ensuring that the cable should last you a very long time, even if you own kittens or bunnies; the connectors are strong and mount firmly into their interfaces.Aesthetically, the cable even looks good thanks to the matte black sleeving and heatshrink. The only issues is that due to the breadth of the cable itself, coupled with the sleeving, the cable is rather rigid. This is fine if it is hidden behind your A/V equipment - but if you need to make a visibe run, it is difficult to manipulate the cable into taking the precise shape you would prefer.For me, though, it's tucked away nicely behind my A/V equipment, so its rigidity is a complete non-issue. Considering the quality of this cable and the price I paid for it, this cable (and the other Ion cables I have bought here) may be the best deal I've ever found on NCIX. |

I use this optical cable to connect my PS3 (digital audio out) to my home theater (all-in-one samsung box), this enables full 5.1 support in the games. Connecting the cable couldn't be easier (no mistakes possible!) and a few audio options must be set in the playstation menu and voilà: The difference in sound quality goes far beyond what I was hoping for! The PS3 really comes to life with 5.1 sound. The ambient noises and background music in tombraider underworld went from barely present to very dramatic. And for under $10 (this week), this cable represents great value. Note that HDMI is still used between the PS3 and the TV (for HD video) but I turn down the TV speaker volume and let the sound system handle the audio. |

I am currently using this between my Logitech Z-5500's and Sondigo Inferno sound card and the sound is perfect! This eliminates the 3 3.5mm connectors on regular sound cables. Nice price as well!
