Simple set up into my thermaltake armor case. Operate ideal. three hdd mounted in simple. Fan is quiet and operates nicely. Not as great as my high 120cfm fans but wont hurt. wish the rear mounting screw had a little far more room to get to it. I felt like i had to screw it in at an angle a little but i was using a larger screw driver. so with your normal may possibly not be a challenge.

Fantastic to be able to use your other five.25" drive bays for some thing. LOL! Dropped my cpu temps three degrees and technique all round 7 degrees. Blows proper on my memory as properly so I know they are cooler as effectively. None truly except be cautious, the edges on this thing are genuinely sharp. Other than that none. Used this to get rid of my drive bay at the bottom of my case to let the intake fan genuinely move air in. I have the NZXT Apollo case and installation was a breeze, the tooless drive bays on the case worked with this so no need to have for any screws for me. Nzxt Apollo(orange), MSI P6N Diamond, Intel E6750 OC @ three.6ghz, X-Fi Extreme Gamer sound card, 3 Hitachi sata 2 drives in Raid , MSI 8800GTX, 4 gigs of Geil DDR2 800 OC @ 900mhz.

Holds a fan...keeps hard drives cool...good thermaltake fan that's relatively quiet thinking about the air it moves. None Just like the a single that ships in the Thermaltake Armor, except it's aluminum alternatively of steel. Has a small wire fan grill on the front that you'll have to take away if you're employing it in the Armor.

I ordered this factor since I wanted some far more space to hold all my files. I have a Thermaltake Armor full tower case and I didn't have any difficulty putting this issue inside its place. Even a individual with a minimal technical understanding could put this in and connect the fan to a energy supply. Depending on your case, it would be ideal to set up this point from the front of the case as an alternative of attempting to place it in the back way. I had some trouble carrying out it that way (was hitting my heatsink/vga cables) so I decided to just pop off the front covers and put it in that way. This made factors considerably much easier. I was hesitant and purchasing this at very first because of the complaints about the fan not being stellar. However, I've had this for over a month or two now and have had no trouble.

These function as listed. No dilemma installing them. Fan performs fine. I can not inform if the fan is loud or not simply because it is in a server located in a server area. Nothing at all. Unless you don't like LED fans.

Very good develop good quality, not horridly heavy with steel but not light and flimsy. The fan that comes with it is decent. Slides appropriate into the Armor series with out a single hitch (couldn't picture a scenario exactly where it wouldn't work, its basically the exact same point as the one particular that comes with the armor series) Admittedly, the fan is not that good, no way to control them. So they run complete blast anyway. I wish case makers and cage makers would quit giving fans and let the consumer pick what they want. I would rather they advise a fan to use than to give me 1 I replace immediately anyway. I replaced all the fans in my case with CM red LED R4's. They have high cfm-to-dba ratio and I can confirm their numbers are appropriate.

This does an unbelievable job at keeping my U320 SCSI drives good and cool. My case had one particular of these in it when I got it and I used it for 3 of my six drives. The other three I tried using the instances other HD mounting bracket that has a fan operating over it. With that other bracket the drives got scorching hot but with this module the drives are under no circumstances additional than warm. Small bit of a tight match in the front of my Thermaltake case.

-Operates good in thermaltake Armor & Armor+ Situations (although the armor plus is a tight fit, it does go in)-Adds Ɠ) 3.5" bays-Adds Ƒ) 120mm fan -The fan only comes in blue, not a real con although I had this cage for my Armor and I lately purchased an Armor+. It operates good in the new case. I have 2-three of these items and I hugely suggest them.

Smaller simplistic design and style maximizes air flow. Lets me use my 5inch drive bays. I can't hear my 3 hd's any longer. Looks cooler than most other 5inch bay conversion possibilities that I've seen out there. None. 790i ultra sli, 2gig corsair, quadcore two.4ghz, 2x 8800gt, thermaltake armor tower, and lots of blue glowies!

I mainly bought this for an uncomplicated way to stick yet another fan in the front of my TT Armor Doesn't move a lot of air but its not supposed to be the greatest fan ever.. The lights had been a bit darker blue than the iCage that comes in the TT Armor case.. dont seriously care tho its not that major a deal.

I have over 50 of these involving property and work. They're outstanding in any of the M9/Armor/Kandalf situations, or even in the off-brand instances I've noticed. No compatibility difficulties, the fan keeps the drives 5-7 degrees cooler all around and they look excellent to boot. When these go on sale, I generally pick up an additional dozen as I know I'll use them. None that I can believe of.

Fits perfectly in my four bay 5.25 drive bay, leaving sufficient area for my CD/DVD burner. The fan is an superb cooler, and not also loud. My old raptor 150s are mounted snug as a bug, and are running a entire lot cooler than they had been ahead of. If you have a hinged cover for the front of your case, it will impede airflow when shut. Practically nothing severe if you seriously want 3 much more difficult drive slots and are prepared to leave it open. The blue LED can be distracting, on the other hand I have my Computer case at eye level...so that's my fault seriously.

Mounts drives stably and gives fantastic air flow around drives. Would have prefer a three-pin or PWM fan to connect to motherboard header versus the 4-pin molex connector and three-pin header for reporting. Nevertheless may replace the fan, but it is pretty quiet. Requires up 3x5.25in bays to mount 3xdrives in a cage. Space could have been greater utilized to mount 4xdrives. General Happy with buy

-Converted 3 empty 5.25 drives on my complete tower into 3 tough drive cages. Big fan + blue led appear truly good through the case shield door.-Came with a enormous bag of screws which was a tiny unexpected and nice of them.-Other than the cabling challenge (see cons), slides in completely into the 3-5.25" bays with no forcing or gaps.-CPU temps are reporting about 1 C cooler, with MB temps reporting about four C cooler. If you have heat troubles, I doubt this will wave a wand at it in moving the hdd's out of the path of the front intake fans (specially if the environment is hot to commence with). If you all prepared have your temps below manage, it'll add a good small cooling buff to your system. -No intake filter on the fan. If my case didn't have a shield with a filter I would have had to cut slits into the 5.25 filler doors to act as filters. I did not fault it an egg considering that even the photographs show that the fan only has the grill attached so I knew what I was obtaining into, but a thing to contemplate if you only have a flat panel on the front with nothing shielding/filtering over it.-The yellow cable is just about too quick for a full tower case. It is not taught so I was fine with it.-The directions are for tool-much less case. I do not have a tool-significantly less case and identified that the cables will lead to it to get stuck when sliding it in/out. I solved this by feeding the cables out from the front of the chassis, down and back in by means of a gap in my 2.5" front bay prior to attaching the front case panel. Does not create any more noise in my case Ɠ intake fans, 2 exhaust and cpu fan all on controllers). Other than becoming a small imaginative on the cabling, the set up was really rapid and basic. The middle and reduced cages are really hard to get at if you have thick fingers like me, so a claw tool is nice to own for seating the screws ahead of screwing them in.

It is not overbuilt - meaning it doesn't have to be thick and heavy to do its job - it is just correct. Hdd's slid in devoid of a dilemma. The fan is extremely quiet. Even with 3.five Hdd's installed, it is very compact. Does a good job of keeping fresh air moving more than the drives in a really quiet manner. None I getting a lot more of these for future builds.

It is a fantastic cooling resolution for tough drives. Brought my temps down from 102f - 105f to 75f 80f. Fits good. Tends to make an old beige computer appear cool! None. Installing the hard drives into the cage can be a little tricky with little space to perform with, but thats the fun of it I guess. I in no way cared about challenging drive cooling, but now that I have built a property server with multiple huge hard drives, it seems that cooling the challenging drives is a great idea for longer life. I was sceptical about the substantial temperature reduction that my household server was indicating, so I opened up the box to touch the really hard drives, and they were cool to touch. This thing is seriously cooling the hard drives, not just the sensors.

Low-cost, very good excellent. Sturdy but not too heavy. Performs very effectively in my Thermaltake Armor Jr. Case. Quiet, substantial fan. Blue LED may well be a bit too vibrant, no way to adjust it. May not fit incredibly properly in modular case styles by other makers, although can\'t confirm this. If you have a thermaltake case that needs further three.five" drive bays, this is a no-brainer. It ought to match in any case that has 2 free five.25 bays, although poorly made ones may have difficulties. I just wish it came with five.25" mesh bay covers as I seem to have misplaced them.
