Purchased two of these drives for video burns. we need burns to be reliable and find that burning above 4x on most burners will create issues. THESE DRIVES CAN NOT BURN SLOWER THAN 6X ON 5 COMMON media. Got only as low as 4x on 1 media. This is terrible! Lite-on told me that they did not support some very common medias and mentioned that TDK & Ritek are good. I tried them and the burns were 6X up to 16. Still no 1X, 2X, or 4X. Yes we tried all firmware updates and their technical support which was terrible. |

Purchased this to replace a drive which I wore out. It works great. I have used many of the features, including Lightscribe without a problem. Since I have my original software, the included Nero wasn't a problem. I'd buy another. |

Product is great, however, once the Demo Software expires (1 month) it is basically unusuable unless you pay another $40 for the software. I thought it was a good deal at first but now I think it may not have been worth it because of the extra $$. The good news is it does do everything it said it would! |

Have not gotten it to work with a DVDRW yet which it is supposed to work with. I was very disapointed that the nero software it came with was basically a demo version and the MPEG2 encoder will expire after one month. nero wants 40 bucks to upgrade the software. I had to go back and use an old full version of nero I purchased about 4 years ago and nero wants to charge 13 bucks to update, not upgrade, that old software. No online updates allowed. So not happy with nero. |

I needed a replacement drive for the ones in my gen 2 xps , this was recommended to me , so I bit . The first one I got was a SATA , and I needed an IDE . They had one , I got it , and I was so happy with it I kept the sata one as well . Mines super quiet , fast , does everything promised and more . The software was ok , and a visit online to Nero brought everything up to par . I would highly recommend one of these to anyone looking to change out a tired or dated drive . THANKS AGAIN !! |

Everything has work as expected, but I have not used the LightScribe. The purpose was to replace a 4 year old reader writer. I have created 2000 or more CDs on the old one. It finally quit. There have not been any problem with noise as other reviews have stated. It is quiet. It installed on XP Pro SP3 without even inserting the installation CD and immediately began reading and writing. |

Installed easily. Had to change the jumper but that only took two seconds. Windows XP found the drivers right away. Great replacement for old CD writers on older computers. I liked it for price and ease of replacement. Comes with Nero. |

yep it's NOT a Sata drive, it's IDE and works great on your older systems! ordered one about three months ago use bi weekly for burning and every day for reading nice drive no problems ordering another for back-up on the same system today! Nero 8 (light version included) works fine too! |

Sure it has support for a lot of formats, but it doesn't have a sata connector, its (very) noisy, and its slow. I wanted an upgrade for a stock drive, but this is twice as slow. My other stock drive is also IDE and reads and writes almost twice as fast. I ended up just using the stock drive that came with the pc and never use this. |

Tdrive works so much better that that kids and family have me doing projects for them. Super quiet and warp speed fast compared to my previous DVD-RW unit. Have an error message or failure to write yet; with my old drive this was frequent. Really easy install and setup/configure. I've upgraded family and friends computers to this unit. |

I purchased this drive in hopes of upgrading my DVD drive but I can't open ANY DVD's and it lags opening CD's, I have tried everything that Liteon has suggested and still it is unusable. The bundled software is only a trial and if you want to view DVD's you have to buy an upgraded version of Roxio. I wish I could find someone who could sort out the problems with this drive because I really, really want this in my PC. |

I installed this drive in an IBM Netvista running Windows XP and it works great. I installed it so I can upgrade the computer too Windows Vista and now the computer complies with the Vista requirements. The only thing I didn't like is how noisy the drive can be. Other than that it's a good buy |

Installed in my Linux system and this burner is fast. Went to lightscribe.com and obtained free driver and software for linux. Burned my DVD's flipped them over and burned label. All I can say is this is a great drive! |

Wanted to up the speed and functionality on a XP MCE system. This one is about twice as fast as the unit I pulled. Worked the first time I powered up. The Lightscribe works great and is upgradeable with additional designs. |
Very pleased with speed of shipment. Great value for the product, renewed life for older computers.
