Functions Excellent- Purchased two to test them and all operatesUltimately right after trying various other companies that failed, this device is a straightforward economical remedy to upgrade your servers from IDE to SATA with out any problems. Master/Slave operates as effectively as ChipSelectThank You to the Koutech Engineers- The package is straightforward and just goes in series with the IDE cable. Runs at full IDE speed so far devoid of error. I transferred 200Gb drive to drive devoid of error. not an essential one.I have a SATA mobile rack that it does not match in. However I have 8 other folks that it does fit devoid of any troubles.SNT SNT-125B Black 3.five" SATA Tough drive to 5.25" Bay SATA Mobile Rack Removable Difficult drive kit Will eventually convert all my servers making use of this device this year soon after it runs for a few months with out error.

Neat , no additional energy cable necessary. No exposed wires or components. I employed it for my Pioneer blu-ray burner so I can use the sata connection for 1 far more hdd instead of being occupied by the blu-ray burner which can function with ide perfectly fine. I am with windows 7 Ultimate, I set the jumpers (I utilised as slave, along with another dvd-burner as master) and it was detected by windows and works Completely. I couldn't find any. The men and women who complaint the freezes their Computer , possibly didn't configurate it appropriately , as opposed to usb this is not just plug and play , it want small knoledge how to connect and set the jumpers on each drivers properly before run the computer and count on to function.

Effortless set up, great contact, no exposed components or wires. Kind of expensive with shipping, adds about 1 ¼ inch to the length of the Hard Drive. I am making use of two of these in my Directv Hughes TivoDVRs to upgrade the 40gb HD’s to 750gb.

Nice sung fit to equipment / IDE ribbonNo exposed wires / pins, etc.Jumpers for Master / Slave / Cable ChooseFunctions!Low-costSolid building *Might* make for a tight fit if you have a cramped caseInstruction sheet *might* make you nervous if you were searching for a manual ~ it has all the needed information, however. I necessary to totally free up a SATA port becoming applied by a LG Blu-Ray burner and utilised this to move it to the IDE port on my ASUS Rampage Extreme. Operates like a charm, no troubles at all, no drivers required (Win 7 64 bit Ultimate). Comes with a nice piece of LG application that will update the firmware on any LG drive in your system.

Quickly recognized by BIOS and Vista Ultimate and it even launched my TotalMedia Theatre Blu ray player application. Even though it launched my TotalMedia Blu ray player program, the Blu ray film Under no circumstances played! I will retain using my UNreliable Sabrent adapter. It frequently crashes, but at least it does play Blu ray movies in contrast to this Koutech.

Works fantastic with my old IDE systems and my new OCZ SSD. Requires original IDE cable and energy plug and gives SATA connection and energy. No other widgets required! None Utilised in two P4 2GHz single cpu IDE only systems (originally constructed around 2003. Easy jumper setting enables me to make a master or slave device. I utilised this adapter to make my OCZ brand SSD my boot drive. I can boot Ubuntu 10.10 and Windows XP from my SSD working with this adapter. My old systems are now numerous, several times quicker than employing a spinning tough disk drive (HDD). By the way, I placed the order tenᛆam PST, paid for rush processing and overnight shipping, and had it in my hands within 24 hours. Newegg has outstanding service.

Tiny i guess? So I guess I spoke also soon...Soon after about a week it started to not recognize my DVD drive and then it would freeze my pc when trying to burn DVD's. I know the drive is fine because I picked up a ฟ UATA to SATA controller card and now I can burn dvd's. Thank you newegg for the rapidly and protected delivery of 4 diverse products. Koutech this will be the final time with you.

For me it was plug and play all the way. No setup involved, just the hook up. None Upgraded my SATA to a larger drive. My old MOBO was not able to support two non-RAID drives, so put to use this adapter to connect the old one to IDE for hassle-free access to old files and additional storage. Works outstanding.

This is the simplest way to upgrade your aging laptop or computer with an IDE interface to the less expensive, quicker SATA hard drives. It will operate below all OSes, mainly because it is pure hardware. You've got to watch clearances when you use a piggyback adapter like this one. I had to obtain an SATA extension cable to get it to function in my older Sony VAIO 32G. It is a little slower than employing a RAID card, but it is almost imperceptable on this machine. Something that gets my rather strange Linux box to operate flawlessly gets my vote. Once again, you need to watch your clearances and mounting in your chassis. There are locations that will make a cable for you if you require it. It's nonetheless worth it to be able to use the newer style SATA drives.

This worked perfectly. It started up the initially time. Not as large as every person stated it was. Simple plug and play. It isn't reversible but I dont believe it says that it is anywhere. I am working with it with a DVDRW drive and my system keeps freezing whilst burning a disk. Im not confident however exactly where the issue is coming from just a tiny note.

Appears like a full professional unit not just a circuit board with simply bent get in touch with pins jutting out from it.I deliberated a lengthy time just before getting this unit as there was such a wide difference in look and rates of different other units. I was adding an SATA burner to an old IDE desktop. This was a first conversion for me so I was rather apprehensive about carrying out it. I want not have been!It occupies a bit far more than an inch of space but in my situation that was not a issue. An exceptional unit. None Changed a jumper as per directions, plugged in to the SATA drive, plugged in the power and IDE cables and away I went.

Worked fine, no fuss. Running a 1 TB Seagate with my EIDE method without any issues. Physical design of the case lies against the back of the drive, so there's small mechanical pressure on the (flimsy) sata connector. I'm very pleased with the design, both electrical and mechanical. It's a small deep, so you may possibly have mechanical clearance issues, if the space behind your drive is tight. It makes my hard drive successfully about as deep as the CD drive it's subsequent to. EIDE drives appear to be topping out at about 500 GB, so if you want an cost-effective bigger drive but have an EIDE system, this or a similar device will solve your problem.

Works well if you want to plug an SATA optical/hard drive into an IDE motherboard (made certain to try it just before I wrote a review :P), nevertheless I needed an adapter to connect my IDE tough drive to my SATA motherboard. Opened the box, tried to plug it in when I noticed it was female SATA and male IDE... I ended up returning it and obtaining a motherboard for an additional cost that equals that of this adapter, so it all worked out.-2 eggs for misleading name, and no clear "NOTE:" explaining the setup.

Bought this from newegg to use on a series 2 TIVO. Upgraded the original TIVO series 2, 40 gig IDE drive to a 1 TB SATA making use of this adapter. The adapter worked PERFECTLY! Extremely effortless, Google "rosswalker.co guide to upgrading your tivo". I utilized the MFSLive boot cd technique and it was painless. As often Newegg rocks! Had the adapter in hand two days soon after ordering. So simple, should have accomplished this upgrade ahead of now IDE drives are obtaining tricky to come across and SATA's are inexpensive. Save yourself the headache USE this adapter and upgrade to a Massive drive in your TIVO. Newegg will sell you a good drive at a terrific cost :-)
