As quiet as advertised! I set them to run complete speed in my mATX case (not adequate jumpers on my mobo for the pair) I still like to peer in there or verify my temps, as the case is merely as well quiet, lol.Rubber pull screws further silence this fan. A tiny pricey, eh? But sucking up the premium price tag for silence is a voluntary matter. Now its time to do some thing about that NOISY DVD-rom drive rattling the case..

Engineered design and style. Really, genuinely quiet. It's for you if you are developing a quiet Pc, or if you purchased a low cost case that can't contain the noise, and now regretting it. Price. No absolutely free grill. It's not that a lot quieter than the quiet fan it replaced and it blowes slightly much less air. Wiring and plastic material not the very best. As quiet and effective as it is I would advise other brands that cost couple times significantly less with no substantially compromises, but I do recommend the 92mm, which is a better deal than this a single. A tiny pricey, but quiet. I narrowed down the choices to the 1 made by a organization named following a shiny mineral or this.

Silent till you've had them for a whilst. Keeps your case cool. Higher value. They start off to sound like a jet engine soon after a whilst. If they could somehow keep the very same initial quality as when you bought them I would recommend these fans to anybody.

Fan is completely quiet at 12V; it is the quietest 80mm fan I personal. This ൨CFM" fan does NOT move as a lot air as my 28CFM rated Arctic Cooling Fan 8; it moves noticably much less air.

?? How are you measuring... with your hands? Or somehow you can "see" the air flow. Don't confuse wind speed or presure with CFM. The thin plastic and small center hub develop a higher surface region. As a result additional air can be moved at a reduced speed and presure. GO BACK TO School. YOU CAN NOT MEASURE AIRFLOW (CFM) WITH YOUR HAND.

Silent. This is for an HTPC and while it's not as silent as my TiVo, it's awfully quiet. I think the 9 dB claim.(Note that I used the supplied vibration-reduction plugs alternatively of screws to hold them in location.) Reduce airflow than a regular fan. My old Computer blows out air like a vacuum cleaner and this 1 is nowhere close. I replaced every fan in my case with a SilenX fan (two 80mm, 1 120mm). I also place in a SILVERSTONE NT06-E CPU heat sink and put a 120mm SilenX fan on it. When I turned the Computer on for the initial time I thought I had performed something wrong simply because I could barely hear it. I was honestly shocked to see it POST; I was reaching for the off button simply because I was sure a thing wasn't hooked up right.

Fan is quite quiet whilst nonetheless pushing a decent quantity of air. I purchased these to replace the fans in my norco RPC-4220. The original fans have been 7000 RPM delta screamers. These fans are substantially quieter. The rubber mounting plugs are simple to use..i see some men and women listing these as a con, but they are a major PRO. If you don't like them, don't use them. The fans come with screws for these who favor them. The rubber things are easy to use and i didn't even need to have to use pliers like some reviewers. none. Works precisely as it must Folks do require to understand that there is only so considerably that can be done to make a fan place out significantly less noise, although nonetheless providing the similar "flow". When you replace a fan with a quiet fan, usually it WILL put out significantly less air flow. The fans i replaced put out a massive amount of air but i just didn't will need that much airflow.

Moves an OK amount of air. Relatively quiet if you are lucky Variable high quality. Can all of a sudden choose to vibrate, cycle in loud groans, etc. I wanted to second the thoughts of other individuals about this fan. I have utilised lots of diverse 80mm and 120mm fans. The SilenX can be a extremely good option if you want a fan that move a modest amount of air and is incredibly quiet. Even so, the good quality is just hit or miss. Out of 4 fans that I bought 3 seemed to operate fine. The other a single started creating this grinding noise like it had a undesirable bearing/spindle or some grit was caught in the bearings/spindle. It's been undertaking this for numerous weeks with various sound at distinct instances. And then, appropriate right after I decided to get some new fans to replace it, the point quit creating noises once again. Go figure.

performs fine, is quiet and pushs air. energy cables for fan are way too tiny and delicate. need anything far more robust that won't break so easily. worth the $ for me because i'm sticking to air cooling and want to push lots of air without generating lots of noise.

Have been quiet and moved very good air when first installed. One began rattling inside a month. Stick a plastic straw by way of grill and stall it and it will be quiet for a few days. I've disconnected the very first poor one now the other is failing. Mounted two of these on a heavy multimedia personal computer case in living area. Have to turn tv loud to hear over them when they start off misbehaving. Went to Silenx internet site to see about warranty but no info there. Reading the critiques on this and other models they would want a massive employees to method all the returns if they had a liberal warranty. Getting new fans soon. they won't be Silenx.

This is an extremely quiet fan which moves a very good amount of air and is reasonably priced. It comes with a three-pin to four-pin adapter in case you don't have a fan connector accessible on your motherboard. It also comes with rubber mounting posts which will absorb any vibration generated by the fan to further lower noise. I have three installed in my Antec case. I very recommend this for anybody who desires to have a quieter machine. None.

It WAS quiet Immediately after two months of 24ǝ use...it sounds like any of the other ŭ fans. CFM seems overstated but I have no way to actually test. Compared to others, it doesn't look to blow as hard. Maybe I got a undesirable 1...of 5 I have, this is the 1st to turn into noisy. We'll see/hear with the rest...:|Although not as quiet, I've had great luck with the 3 speed Antec and CoolerMaster quiet versions. It's not as quiet but they certain move air.

Of all quiet fans on the market, these push the most air per dBA. 14 out of 14 of the SilenX fans I have bought intermittently over the final 7 years all nonetheless perform, but they do all require a small "extra care" each and every day to get them to operate correct... Out of 14 SilenX fans I have purchased and employed, 11 started vibrating off-balance when turning on my computers inside 2 months. the other three started immediately after about four-six months. If you let them spin off-balance for a minute or so to "warm up?" and you stick something in the blades (like a straw) to stop it, it generally starts up once again with no vibrating off-balance. Every single day when I turn on my computers, I have to wait 60 seconds with all the SilenX fans vibrating loudly, then stick a straw into every one particular to stop them from spinning and restart them. I've accepted that this is just the way SilenX fan bearings are produced and to me it is worth the difficulty to have a incredibly quiet computer in the finish. I have attempted a set of 4 14dBA, 4 11dBA, and now 4 9dBA 80mm fans, as nicely as 2 120mm and all have the identical vibration dilemma. The great news is that all 14 nevertheless work (after the stick trick, of course) including the 1st set of 11dBA ones I purchased about 7 years ago. After years of tens-of-thousands of men and women telling SilenX that their bearings malfunction like this, you would assume they would do something about it, right? Wrong! The oldest fans seemed to operate up to 6 months before this difficulty arose, and the newest set I got about 4 motnhs ago began getting this difficulty within two weeks! That signifies their manufacturing and top quality control is obtaining worse? I am seriously looking at replacing all 14 of my fans and all 30-ish of my good friends fans that I advised to get these with yet another brand that in fact performs properly devoid of this unnecessary maintanance. six.five+ years of obtaining to keep a straw strapped to my computers appears a tiny ridiculous now that I consider about it???

Quiet & looks rather good. Didn't even final a year. Wire is thin and isn't even wrapped, and the plugs (including the three-pin to molex adapter) are of low excellent and match with each other loosely. I purchased a single of these about a year and a half ago (when they had been a tiny a lot more high priced) along with a trio of 3-dollar sleeve bearing 80mm fans. After about ten months the SilenX fan began to make noise and vibrate the case. The bearing would no longer spin freely so I took it out of service. That was ~ six months ago. The sleeve bearing fans are still going without any issues and seriously don't sound considerably louder to me.

Uncomplicated to install, holes are along standards;Silent;Silent. None. Maybe that's a con. A single word: impressed. I purchased two for my MMPC (MultiMedia Computer) chassis. At 1st sight I thought that these piece of "el-cheapo-plastic more than-golden-colored ventilos" would just fly around my chassis and destroy everything before collapsing apart. Was I incorrect : they're solid, air blows smoothly to the advertised CFM, and I can barely hear them four foot away! Excelent purchase.

Quiet. Pricey. Does not move as substantially air as stated. I compared this fan side by side to a Vantec Stealth. It's quieter (but not by a lot). The downfall: it does not move as substantially air as stated. The Stealth is rated at 27 CFM and this is rated at 32 CFM. The stealth was pushing a noticable difference in air.
