The previous reviewer failed to notice the fan is run through a thermistor, that regulates the rpm's of the fan depending on the temperature....its right there in the product's title...

Specs should indicate that fan comes with its own temp sensor$11 fan arrived today. Very silent since it doesn't spin. Will spin at no more than 1000RPM (close to 1/2 max speed) if connected via molex and given an initial nudge with fingertip.Even when sensor applied to hottest part in the pc (video card) fan will not spin.Not hassling myself with RMA, bye bye $11.00.Very disappointed as I expected an expensive fan like this to be a quality product.Submitted review is too short, please include more details to better describe  your experience.Still can't submit review. Adding more as filler. Seriously, how much more can I say, Fan doesn't work. Future buyers need to know this.

The temp probes you put anywhere in your cmptr and the fan doesn't start until it senses heat. Quiet at 14dba

Real Quiet. I replaced my noisy power supply fan. Glued the sensor to its heat sink. What an improvment. Doesn't run at all until the supply warms up, then runs just enough to keep it cool. Not too much not too little. 32-CFM does not sound like alot but the whole computer is only 1-CuFt. So it changes all the air 32 times a minute.

These are the best fans I have ever had they are so cool they run very very quite you do not need a fan controller because they regulate themselves very well I put one in the front and one in the back of my case put one temp probe on the chipset and the other on the CPU they are great Buy them the price is fantastic at eleven dollars
