If you need a high CFM to Dba rating try the non-thermistor version of this fan instead as it may prove to be more reliable. I asked for the replacement fan from Silenx to come without the thermistor and so far since the replacement is still spinning in July heatwaves here. About 2 weeks after replacing this fan another Silenx Fan of the same model with thermistor also failed suddenly and since it was blowing on a hard drive array I risked data loss. Luckily I caught it in time and put a desktop fan in front of it as a temporary cooling until I can replace this fan. I do not recommended using this fan behind anything that produces a load such as a restrictor cone of 120mm converting to 70mm adapter plate.The smaller Thermistor versions of this fan use the same motor and so won't be under as much current load and should last longer.

Attached it to a Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev 2 to keep the heatsink cooler, and it's functioning as espected. I've also attached it to the system fan header for speed control, and attached the thermalistor to the heatsink.

This fan is very quiet. I was looking for a fan that is usually silent but can speed up when more airflow is required. This is just what I was looking for and performs as expected.
