Cons: Factory presets suck.

Pros: Stylish, fast, bright, great colour and image.

From what I have looked at, you cannot get much better than this. I would only suggest that potential buyers seeking more adjust features look elsewhere. It does have tilt, though I would highly recommend putting the screen face down and grabbing the neck to tilt instead of the display itself. It does technically have swivel, but it is just a fluid base; which is actually quite nice, though it might not satisfy everyone. Some of the other reviews on this page have suggested the HDMI port is wonky, producing overly bright and saturated images. However, I disagree. The factory presets for every input on the dislpay are off (as are most Samsung products, from my experience), including HDMI, but spending a little time adusting colour, contrast and brightness resolves all of the problems. HDMI input, after adjustment, looks no different than any other HDMI equipped display.

I'm happy with this Monitor and use it for Gaming. 2 Ms refresh is awesome and it's FULL HD. It's plugged using DVI cable and quality is very good. I'll purchase again!

Cons: Pixel DepthColour Range

Pros: BigPrettyResponse time
Comment:
This is a very pretty monitor, it's huge, and it's great for gaming. However, it is NOT designed for such things as precision photo editing. The colour range and colour balance are far from true (coming from an owner of a Lacie precision monitor). The screen size should be able to support a larger screen resolution, but it doesn't, so even on the highest resolution you can still make out pixels. All in all I bought this monitor for three things: gaming, watching movies, and size. This monitor is amazing for those things, and I'm very happy with it. I would recommend it to any gamer (especially with the 2ms response time), but if you want to do anything with professional-quality photo editing, this is not the monitor you want. One thing to note: this is a very large monitor, it takes up a lot of desk space. This makes my Silverstone tj07 chasis look like a regular sized case (which is a plus for me!), so just ensure that you have the space for it.

Priced matched just below $290 + tax and express coverage,Samsug has really worked on their QC.first thing when I brought this beauty home, I ran dead pixle test software for straight 48 hours and "NO DEAD PIXLES."I've played numerous PC games with this monitor, Dragon Age,Batman Arkham ,Modern Warefare 1 & 2. The color on this monitor is way better than my previous Viewsonic 2230. I'm pleased with this purchase.

Cons: -totally unusable picture quality THROUGH HDMI!

Pros: -best looking TN-paneled picture quality I've seen THROUGH DVI!-very stylish chassis/bezel
Comment:
As outlined in more depth in my forum post below, the difference in picture quality OF THE SAME SOURCE through the DVI input and the HDMI input is shocking. Through DVI its definetely one of the best looking TN-panels out there. Clear, sharp, good colours, no lag. Very nice. However through HDMI the same source comes out overbright and undefined. Similar to what an SD source generally looks like on an HDTV.This appears to be becoming a well documented problem with this model. If youre looking for a display with HDMI connectivity, steer clear of this one. If you just want a stylish DVI capable screen on your desk, look no further.

Cons: - Ncix seller half-forcing me to buy the return warranty ($15) " if there's a dead pixal problem on your monitor, you need 7 of them for samsung to do RMA, and it's pretty impossible and the process is really complicated.- sometimes it jumps from Analog to Hdmi to Digital signals for no reason =S .. and the screen blacked out for like 10 seconds.

Pros: - Quality- Colour- Design- Size- Tweakable- Luck- Never had a dead pixal on any monitor

moved from 216bw and didn't really need a monitor speaker (which sucks balls). If you have 323 CAD budget for a PC monitor, get this one !! The design is

Cons: * No wall-mounting capabilities* Stand is not adjustable (not even tilt!)* Monitor neck is a bit wobbly* Touch controls take some getting used to

Pros: * Looks stunning* Easy to set up* Solid colour reproduction* Decent contrast ratio* Fast response time* Audio & optical audio out* Solid base
Comment:
I'm rating the picture quality of this monitor compared to other TN monitors; of course, E-IPS screens and such are far superior in terms of viewing angles and contrast ratios, but this monitor gets the job done and it does it well. That isn't to say this monitor sacrifices some form features for function; primarily, the ergonomic capabilities of this stand is substandard compared to, say, the 2494HM (height adjuctable, tilt, rotation). For me, however, my desk and chair are at the right heights so the ergonomics don't concern me as much.I've watched a couple HD movies and I've played Dragon Age Origins & Halo 2 on the monitor, and they all play with stellar results; also, my desktop has never looked more vibrant (Then again, I did upgrade from a 14" laptop screen, so almost anything is an improvement)!Despite being two feet wide, its thinness has made it quite space-conservative, which is a plus on my somewhat-cramped desk. People who might find the P-series to be a bit "wobbly" must have quite flexible desks, because my monitor doesn't budge an inch when I'm typing and such. Only when I use the touch controls does the monitor shake a bit.Speaking of the touch controls, they look amazing. There is also an option to keep the controls lit if the disappearing act annoys people. However, they are a bit picky on where to press, so it takes some getting used to. The menu interface is very intuitive and I don't have to mess around much with automatic modes. This functions really well as a console game monitor, since you can plug a PS3/XBOX 360 via HDMI in, then if you have an amplifier (or just a solid set of PC speakers) you can plug out the audio, and it sounds just fine.I also need to mention that I got this monitor for $100 off at the Boxing day sale; I don't think I would have spent the full $400. For that price, you could get the newer, sleeker XL2370, which has LED backlighting. Or the 2494HM, which has more ergonomic support. But, $280 is the sweet spot for a monitor this size with all of its multimedia capabilities. Very pleased I went with Samsung instead of LG.
