This ultra portable looks and feels right, but it just doesn't deliver in the other departments.The keyboard is NOT the one advertised in Linus' unboxing video. It has a tall enter button instead of a long one (two keys high, one key wide) with the backslash key independently attached to it. Feels a little misleading having an unboxing video on the products sale page but showing a different model. I still blame myself for not doing more research and assuming that the unboxing video was the same as the laptop I was buying.The backlight on my model is also broken, as I open it from the closed position (top down) to it's maximum angle. There are about 10 different spots where the backlight goes completely black and I have to adjust to regain light. This can also be caused by pressing on the sides of the monitor (where I grab to lift the laptop). I am in the process of getting an RMA for this issue.The laptop is also full of standard crap bloatware that you can expect from acer.Overall : Would only be slightly disappointed with the laptop if it was working probably. With the broken backlight this has become a crappy purchase. I would rate 2 stars but I know the review won't get posted for 6 months, if ever if I do. So 3 mediocre stars it is. |

Cons: french keyboard

The particular model sold by NCIX has a French keyboard layout. The 'Product Model' they sell is actually 'S3-951-6629' and NOT 'S3-951-2464G34iss' as advertised.Despite my 2 attempts to get them to correct this description and the picture they have, NCIX still has the incorrect information.If you absolutely can't stand the French keyboard layout, then don't bother. Il s'agit d'un excellent achat au point de vue du prix. Les ultrabook à 699.99 $ avec un processeur i5 et un SSD sont rares. Le problème se situera probablement au niveau de la fiabilité à long terme de la machine. Sachant que je change d'ordinateur régulièrement de toute façon pour usure normale (2 ans pour un laptop), les bris majeurs sont moins susceptibles de se produire. |

I tested this out at a local store and just wanted to give some impressions. This notebook is super thin and light and seems to be very well built. It has a bit of a sticky hindge which if frustating considering when you open it because it is so thin its hard to get your fingers in there. Also i just wanted to say that the SSD in this laptops is very fast and got a WEI score of 7.4 over 5.9 of a standard laptop harddrive. |
I bought this as a replacement for my laptop Dell Inspiron 1520 from 2007. I already have a beast desktop so I only use this laptop as a mobile computer, nothing game heavy or work heavy. If you are looking for a cheap, sexy, got all the basic features ultrabook, this is the one to get. For this price you cannot go wrong. However if you need it for gaming or work, I do not recommend it, the specs are not good enough.
