Cons: Average image quality

Pros: UVC support
Comment:
The webcam supports UVC, so proprietary software is not required. Works well with Skype and other webcam/chat applications. Build and image quality are so-so, but considering the price, they're reasonable.

Cons: -Vague/false specifications-No "hot" light-Fixed focus-Rather short cable (~4')-No cable routing-Integrated stand/clip-Microphone connects via standard mini-plug

Pros: -Reasonable video quality-Tiny-Amusing badly translated/copyright infringing packaging-Integrated microphone-Integrated stand/clip-Microphone connects via standard mini-plug
Comment:
Although the setup instructions are unnecessary (if you're not running Windows 98 or lower), they are quite clear. This is a basic product - no IR LEDs, no adjustable focus knob, no LED to indicate the camera is on or plugged in. But it does have a microphone, and video quality is fine in OK lighting. Skype found the camera immediately, and audio quality was decent. The mic plugs into your sound card, which ensures compatibility, but also means you have to run another wire if you want to use that function for security/doorcam purposes. The form factor is so-so. Not counting the stand that surrounds it, this cam is just over 1.25" on a side. The cable is half as thick as the camera itself (since there are two groups of wiring in it - USB & audio), and it comes straight out the back on center. This and the stand can cause headaches when it comes to positioning the cam, especially for desktop users. The stand/clip is an interesting jointed design, and can be set at any angle or removed completely via screws. It has foam pads on two of the faces, and a flat section which would be perfect for screwing through to attach it to a wall.Overall this product is a good bargain, especially on sale. But do take the listed product name with a grain of salt. "HD Video-Photo" is on the packaging, but the actual title is "USB web camera", the slogan is "Digital your life", and it advertises 8 Megapixels...
