Standard motherboard worked well for fundamental college use. Following operating a newly released game, the motherboard is fried. Some study on the 1090t processor reveals the board does not have enough cooling on the powered mosfets for the cpu and they cook quickly. Paired with 1090t x6 processor. MOSFET cooling proved by opening up case and placing a floor fan blasting on the board. the pc ran with this giant fan blowing in there.

Every thing installed easily and it runs pretty nicely. Nevertheless need to have to get the GPU to make confident all is effectively [besides the bit in cons].Adore the utilities.Arrived a day earlier then anticipated! Win!~ I lost two wireless mice in as several hours so I have decided to stick to wired mice from now on as I have been working with this spare wired mouse now with no problem. I consider my 360 controller that I plugged in is fried as nicely.I have no notion exactly where my mail in rebates are and aspect of possessing the income to pay for this WAS mail in rebates. Almost everything is installed appropriate so I am positive its the mobo, I'm just not certain what would cause only wireless devices to burn up like that. Thanks for all the money lost ASUS, nothing at all I adore a lot more than losing what tiny dollars I have. A lot of stress for a thing that is normally so simple. Nevertheless waiting on a GPU to verify benchmarks but I'm currently worried some thing isn't functioning correct.I'm going to let everyone I no know that ASUS is excellent even even though I got what seems to be a faulty solution.Other then the wireless mice and controller all other USB devices I have utilised work.

I have primarily based two builds off of this motherboard lately, and I am genuinely happy with it. None I wanted a MB with a video card till I came up with the funds to obtain the upgrade I actually wanted. It's half decent, and would be excellent for somebody with "Typical" usage patterns.

Novice builder. Chose this card from the features and client choice award(along with cost). As a initially time builder I was heavily dependant on the manual that came with the motherboard. And let me say it was amazing. Fantastic learning tool for the entire process. Could not believe the ease of installation. Have not even begun to tweak all of the settings and options that come with the board. It performs! For the price tag I seriously could not consider a better board. I will use Asus from now on! None so far. My 1st full build: AMD Phenom II 3.four Ghz processor, 4gb 1600 Gskill Ram, 2x WD black 500gb HD(will quickly set up RAID employing capabilities from the motherboard), HIS ATI 5670 VGA, 650watt PSU.

ASUS has built a incredibly nice MB here that is steady and performs effectively. It is straightforward to set up especially if you don't want to More than Clock. If you do want to OC and don't want to do it manually, ASUS provides a good utility to automatically run a series os tests incrementally rising the CPU & RAM until it finds the highest possible stable speed. I have an AMD Phenom II X4 965 three.4Ghz running at 3.8Ghz. I have 8GB ƒ x 4GB) Patriot DDR3 PC2000 running at 1440Mhz. I'm a tiny disappointed with the Disk I/O. This is the largest bottleneck on any Pc. For example, it took over 5 minutes to extract files from a 289MB Zip file. This appears to slow considering that the MB supports SATA III 6.0Gb/s and I'm also employing Wester Digital Caviar Blue 320GB SATA III 6.0Gb/s drives in SATA Port1 & 2. The MB manual recommends any optical drive (CD/DVD/Blu-Ray), from which you want to boot, ought to be connected to SATA Port5 or six, and these 2 ports need to be configured for IDE only. The MB manual says to boost overall performance on SATA Ports1 - 4 they should be configured for AHCI. I did attempt setting it to AHCI and verified I had the appropriate AMD AHCI driver installed on Win 7 64bit. Even so, this did not noticeably strengthen performance. I registered my MB with ASUS and sent them a technical support queries about this issue. They say they will respond to VIP members in 48hrs., but it's been a week so far and no response.

Quite nice board. Lots of choices. Sideport memory (for onboard video). Lots of overclocking choices (though I'm not overclocking this one). General a lot happier with this board than a different box I built with a related board from one more manufacturer. Onboard video is definitely faster than a equivalent board I own which does not have the sideport memory. Plays even high-def video with really low CPU usage (Phenom II x4 840). HDMI Audio left-correct channels are backwards. Latest bios 񢄦), most recent AMD drivers. Normal analog audio is fine, but the HDMI audio from my HDMI monitor is reversed, and there is no way to transform that in the settings (and no way to accidentally hook it up incorrect).Case fan speeds are not detected (cpu fan is), even though my fans are spinning and really should be sending a speed pulse. Attainable it's my fans although; I haven't carried out anything to prove that it's not. Overall seriously good board, but if you're preparing on working with the HDMI audio you might want to look elsewhere or use a discrete video card. I'll happily transform my rating to 5 eggs if the HDMI audio problem is fixed.Phenom II x4 8408GB PNY RAM PC3-10666 񡾵 Mhz)OCZ Vertex2 SSDWin7-64 Ult.

Has some good components in it, which includes high quality VRMs and a strong power phase. Laid out decently properly, and every thing just performs. At the moment running a 1055T, extremely couple of challenges so far. The MOSFETs get stupidly hot at anything over stock voltages. Going from 1.375v (stock) to 1.475 (Turbo Core) triggered the MOSFETs to get scorching hot. The mobo *seems* to report MOSFET temperature in HWMonitor as "CPU" and it's peaking at 54C for me. If voltages go any higher, it'll throttle my CPU as quickly as it hits 55C, dropping multiplier from 14. to 7., till it cools down and restores typical function. Also, the PATA connector is somewhat vestigial, and I don't see myself capable to plug something into it with substantial graphics cards. A couple far more SATA ports couldn't have hurt, either. I'll be going water cooling soon to overclock, and I'll certainly be investing in a MOSFET block, as extended as I can locate 1 that fits. All round, a solid board with a fair price tag.

Incredibly uncomplicated to do the built in overclock - took actually seconds to get a 16% obtain over the stock setting. Tweaking beyond this is absolutely feasible, but a little additional cumbersome than my last board (which was ๠ additional, in all fairness). Solid overall performance, no difficulties, and automatically recognized my CPU with out any flash to the bios. All about effortless to use and incredibly great for noobie OC'ers. Not genuinely anything worth mentioning. I'm working with this with an Nvidia video card, so I don't use the crossfire interface. I mention this only due to the fact it's challenging to come across an AMD board with an SLI interface, so I went ahead and got this one particular and it operates just dandy for my single card GTX480. Perhaps that will aid somebody in the similar situation make their decision.

Worked with an impulse, off-the-shelf build from (a place the word filter won't let me post), ought to assistance any future upgrades I make just before one more overhaul on this box. Not many boards these days are okay with just randomly throwing stuff with each other (why do we have RAM compatibility lists once again these days anyway? The 90s have been more than for 11 years now...). Genuinely my fault, but the nVidia chipset version of this board has both optical and coaxial SPDIF outputs, so I was kinda bummed when I got this out of the box and it only had optical. My 360 takes up the sole optical port on my receiver, so I'll have to figure out something for that, and splitters don't work in reverse. The issue I have is that the onboard audio doesn't look to help two.-ɮ.1 crossmixing, either with the stock drivers or up-to-date manufacturer drivers. Movies in Dolby operate in five.1 just fine so I know it's software not driving the sub. I'll retain seeking, but for now I'm absolutely unhappy with typical two. stereo sound out of stereo-only apps. Usually I uncover myself selecting relatively strong components for any builds I do, be they motors or computers, so I'm kinda disappointed in the lacking audio. Overall though it's a solid board. Would have gotten four eggs otherwise.

Fairly good motherboard, I like all of the capabilities that it has. Saves energy when I want it to, and lets me connect my five difficult drives with no troubles. Updating BIOS was straightforward as pie, much...much better than the days of the floppies/USB updates. I just restarted the computer, went into the BIOS, found the update on my challenging drive, and let it do the rest. Quite nice. Not adequate space amongst PCIE16 and other slots...but what motherboards do have adequate? All the makers look to forget how huge video cards are now.

Good clean set up, lots of uncomplicated to use alternatives if you opt for to overclock this board. Had it for 2 months when I began experiencing BSODs. Swapped out video card - not the issue. Swapped out the power provide, ran cpu anxiety and mem tests, nonetheless not the issue. Just sent the board back to ASUS for an RMA as that's the only location left for the difficulty to be at. Fantastic value on the board, and from reading up on most of the other evaluations mine has to be an exception and not the rule. I've been buying w/Newegg for quite a few years now, and this is only the 3rd time I've had to deal with a new element failing.

Very good feature set for an ok price tag. Strong. The SATA ports on board are nearly in a direct line with the video card slot, generating a wider video card tougher than important to deal with the SATA cables.

This thing is fantastic for what it is. For a tiny over one hundred bucks, it has lots of internal connectors for all your peripherals, and the like. It has a extremely good setup for card placement to optimize the airflow about the board to maintain it cooling. None. This is not a heavy duty great overclocking board. I This board only has two bios controlled fans: the CPU and one Chassis fan. Just note that all other fans in your case will have a continuous speed and zero adjustment. I ended up have to add an extra fan to cool down my northbridge during overclocking and had to adjust things about in my case to accommodate the optimal airflow settings.

Strong board runs like a champ. It's never ever offered me one purpose to dislike it in terms of stability. I don't more than-clock as a rule so I can't say how that would go but I'm sure there are plenty of other folks here who will comment on that. I have two of these boards and love them for fundamental desktop operations. But...see below if you want to max this board out. Now for the poor. On the ASUS web page this board is said to support 16GB RAM. It has 4 slots so that suggests four - 4GB DIMMs. Effortless and cheap sufficient these days. I at present have two - 2GB GSKILL 1600 DIMMs in this board so I thought that if I got the exact exact same model in a 4GB configuration that it would be supported. Wrong. Okay, I was prepared to consume the cash I paid for the 8GB kit and get yet another authorized model or brand so I went to the ASUS website and pulled down the most current list of supported memory configurations. Would you believe that there is not even One 4GB DIMM on that list? Positive there are 8GB configurations but they are ALL four - 2GB kits. If I want to get 16GB in this board that it "supports" then I have to assume all of the threat on trial and error. I'm so disappointed that such an great board has such lousy assistance on the back end. Come on ASUS, wake up! If you claim to support 16GB on a board then tell us what memory we can use to get there! If all you want is two, four or 8GB RAM then you are safe but if you want to max this board out or there is a likelihood you will want to do that down the road then don't go there. In fact, I will check out that each and every board I look at from this point forward has a list of memory known to perform in the maximum configuration. This board is now worthless to me.

Very first motherboard failed to trip the power provide and the second motherboard has a chipset failure that prevents any input or output devices from working. Most probably the north bridge is fried. Tech Support is terrible. I own/have owned two Asus desktops, three Asus laptops, and have often stuck to Asus motherboards and video cards. Unless I am compensated some way for my weeks of lost time dealing with defective Asus parts, I will by no means get Asus once again.
