Uncomplicated installation and places of all the peripheral plugins compared to other motherboards. There's so a lot room on boards, but for some cause most businesses attempt to clump each thing in horrible locations which make for a "not-so-neat" look once every little thing is hooked up. Strong board, but when I went to place in my processor I had to force a side in compared to my earlier board where it slid suitable in. It could have just been me though so I'm not going to knock off an egg. It'd be nice if they place two SLI bridges in the box instead of a single. Not really a large problem, but I like to have spares of every little thing just in case.

Don't know mainly because I couldn't get it to work. By way of in depth testing and trial and error (like 3 or 4 hours worth) I deduced that it was my mobo that did not perform. Portion of this score goes to newegg return policy mainly because I wanted it REPLACED not REFUNDED but I certainly got a refund rather than replacement. Because the return method took more than two weeks (just to get the refund) now the item is out of stock, and I now have to look for an alternative mobo that occurs to have all the functions that this one has and supports the rest of the hardware I've already bought. What a waste of my time. Thumbs down for Asus, they let me down. The return approach need to have been substantially faster, I've produced this for somebody else with their dollars and they are not satisfied that their dollars has for all intended purposes just disappeared and is sitting as a pile of components on the floor for more than two weeks. I've constructed four other computers via newegg, if this was my 1st encounter it would be my last.

Easy install, match in case properly ASUS consumer service is horrible. Board died and now fails to post after only about ӭ hour of use. RMA this to newegg alternatively of ASUS. Place in a RMA request to ASUS virtually a week ago, and have still not heard back from them. Tried to call ASUS, got the run around, and was told somebody would get in touch with me back. All they took was my telephone number, not my name, or my challenge, or anything. Be warned, ASUS is not a incredibly "customer friendly" organization if you look to have a problem.

It's a powerful board that can handle the phenom x6 and a couple gpus. I also like the added slot between the gpu slots, it aids those enormous heatsinks breath. BIOS is a pest, won't boot up with external memory plugged in, and sometimes forgets the boot order. Updating the BIOS only helped marginally, and it seems to push usb drives to the top rated of the boot order no matter what. I don't overclock, so I can't speak for it's ease of use there, but it has a lot of safety features meant to retain it steady. I don't thoughts the quirks thinking of the low price and higher performance

Enjoy this mobo. I have constantly been a fan of ASUS and they are generally my ş choich for motherboards. i dont see how ppl complain about the layout of the board. maybe i am just employed to ASUS bring about this is virtually Specifically the very same as my final board i upgraded from. I happen to be a AMD/nVIDIA fanboy and this was just about the only alternative for that combo for SLI. this recognized my AMD six core appropriate out of the box and POST'd the very first time and have been operating Windows 7 64bit stable for a even though now. couldnt of asked for a better board the only con i have for this board is the backplate for the back of the case just did not feel appropriate to me its been a whilst considering that i bought a mobo but my last asus board had a way superior 1 its was lined with foam in the middle and just seemed of much better quality and this 1 just appears a lot tougher to line up. last a single was a uncomplicated plop in this a single i had to fiddle with to get each and every slot/port to line up with mobo all round Excellent mobo if you appreciate the AMD/nVIDIA combo as i do then i very advocate this board to any person looking at a accurate AM3 upgrade

Good, solid platform for just about something you can throw at it. Reputable when operating correctly, but when something goes amiss, the headaches are compounded by the lack of consumer service communication and consumer service communication with the purchaser. Nothing with the board physically, as a result far, but as pointed out above, ASUS customer service is lacking in the locations of actual buyer service and service right after the sale. I like ASUS items, but the lack of service is just about as negative as a lack of solution relieability would be, in my unique case anyway. Just be aware the solution is excellent when functioning, but don't anticipate significantly in the way of satisfaction following the sale need to you have any assistance wants.

Excellent board with the functions I've come to anticipate from ASUS. none Been an ASUS fan given that my initially A8N32-SLI Deluxe from them several years ago, this is now my 3rd ASUS mobo immediately after my M4A77D. Have had no challenges from them, even following frying my first A8N32-SLI Deluxe I had it replaced beneath warranty. No reason to go to a various mobo manufacturer. Side note, board does have a somewhat massive VDROOP under load, but only matters if you want a high overclock, has a noticeable effect when I hit 4Ghz on my 955BE.

There aren't many AM3/AMD sli motherboards out there and this is it.- You can overclock with ease. - Effortless to use BIOS even for newbie's - Northbridge heatsinks don't get in the way of aftermarket heatsinks or rams with huge/tall heatspreaders- Motherboard aesthetically looks beautiful!- I have run 2x GTX 460's in sli on this motherboard with no troubles- Other devices like Asus Xonar DG sound card effortlessly detected following audio device driver installed- Graphics cards detects without having difficulties- runs really cool even with my AMD 965 BE CPU OC'ed @ 3.8Ghz and GPU's OC'ed!- runs cool with my GTX 580 running at 40c idle, 60 load- I'm making use of a Coolermaster hyper 212+ with AMD 965 BE CPU, no problems- Please check QVL list for RAM compatibility just before you acquire!- ports for wires and plugs are effectively position for my HAF 932 case, easy cable management.- I have a extremely clean cable management with this motherboard. - You will not be capable to sli GPU's that take up three physical slots, like a Galaxy GTX 580 triple-fan custom PCB. Or Asus DirectCU- A PCI slot sound card will be much less than a centimeter from touching a reference graphics card (GTX 580), or less than a centimeter from touching the dual fans of a Gigabyte GTX 460 1GB graphics card.- If you are hunting to acquire a committed sound card, acquire one that makes use of PCI-Express lot (which are usually positioned above and away from the GPU slots. - A price range Asus Xonar DG sound card (uses PCI slot) will be problematic with GPU's breathing and it will come close to touch the leading graphics card slot and will bring about the master GPU to overheat much more than second GPU.- Front panel audio doesn't appear to operate with some dedicated sound cards. Doesn't seem to function for my Asus Xonar DG. This could be Asus' fault and not the motherboard's. Screamin' Board... two buddies have this board & I helped with the installation/BIOS negotiating. I want one particular... All Liquid Cooled, down to the MOSFETs. Don't have it, but... Extended John... the N. Bridge & especially S. Bridge heatsinks need checking as soon as you power-up... put a slight load on 'em and see about heat. MSI's do the very same issue. If you are afarid of modest-time techy stuff and don't really feel like removing the heatsinks, RMA the board with the Method Specs. & what you did to get to your problem. Pay interest to just about every detail as & after a construct during the "Burn-In" period. You can eliminate the heatsinks and replace Factory Paste, then re-seat the heatsinks and be certain they are contacting the chipset(s). Dank Tank, was your Ra*dM*x PSU at least a 480W.? Ya' will need at least 850W to push that CPU and the SLI Cards you spoke of... Verify the PSU specs on the ASUS web site, plus, come across out the PSU 12v Rail(s) output & Duty Cycle + the Energy needed to PUSH those VCards below Load, let alone the CPU & peripherals. Leave Method Spec's behind in testimonials so NEWEGG, ASUS and Purchasers (esp. potential Buyers) can see what's compatible and what's the dilemma.

Good motherboard. The very first one particular I received had terrible PCIEx16 slots but the RMA was fast and the new board works good with my two GTX 480s. Not really a Con but make positive you have the correct memory for this board. I am utilizing memory from my old develop (G.Talent Ripjaws Series 8GB ƒ x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL). The memory was not on the advised list for the board. My computer will boot up most of the time and when it does, it will only recognize 7.5 GB of my 8 GB installed. I decided to order some memory that is on the list (Kingston HyperX 12GB Ɠ x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) XMP Desktop Memory Model KHX1600C9D3K3ቨGX). I haven't received the new memory however but I anticipate it'll perform fantastic. My program is air cooled and with two GTX 480s, the system runs hot. The 980 chipset runs about 50 C, the 1st GPU at 62 C, and the 2nd GPU at 43 C, even though the system is applied for homework (Word, Excel, Web). While playing Crysis 2, the system runs about 20 C higher as a whole. My pc tower is: COOLER MASTER HAF 932 Advanced RC-932-KKN5-GP Black Steel ATX Full Tower Compucase Case.

So soon after i got my rma back from Newegg, It worked nearly perfect(see cons) Very stable now, copper coated heat spreading pcv, sturdy and thats good for heavy heat sinks. Higher vdroop at 1.45 volts in bios I drop to 1.37 below prime. 1.35 drops tp 1.31 so it does get worse the more juice you give the cpu. Also I cant get a actual core temp reading, ideal i can do is the asus probe 2 temps 955be at 3.eight at 1.45 vcore(got to 4.two on air in x86 but not x64) corsair 750tx, haf 932, 8g mushkin 1333, asus v2 470 at 800 core, mugen 2 cooler, running at 20C on MB, 29C CPU asus probe. prime in spot massive three hours four threads MB is 28C cpu 41C!!! SLI with AMD, lots of RAM supported. Stable, effective, and appears good. dunno if any individual has this challenge, but my board runs HOT. the MCP chip sensor(i consider its the NB, but im not positive) idles at 40 degrees C, and beneath load is as high as 65 degrees C. I dont assume this is great for the board, and am tempted to contact Asus over this. The NB and SB chipset cooling appears cool, but if the thermal interface material is improperly applied(like 99% of it is), it will act as an insulator and not as a conductor of heat.
