Cons: Not sure if everything is working right just yet - having some issues working properly with Hauppauge 150 MCE LP card, but that could be the Hauppauge card
Pros: It's XP so less of a resource hog than Vista |

Cons: - Microsoft!- Few bugs
Pros: - SP2- Free upgrade to vista premium- Good price- HDTV and dual-tuner support Comment:
Great overall. I didn't expect it to work so well but I could schedule all my shows and it records even if Media Center is not actively running. Setup was simple. I did find that it has some small bugs with display. For some reason I couldn't see the tv picture when ever I fast forwarded or upped the volume until the on screen display timed out. Then the picture would come back.It is a good all-in-one system. |
The price is right and it's right here in Canada. XP MCE is getting harder to find and your only option for O/S for media center is Windows Vista. I also have Vista Home Premium on another machine and found the frequent shutdown/freezes to be more than annoying. Having said that still working to get the Hauppauge 150 MCE LP card working with XP MCE 2005. I've ordered another TV tuner card so will see if it works better. The install process was a bit confusing as well as I had to find a bunch of other drivers for my machine that were not on the original XP MCE disks.
