Cons: Big and heavy and takes up an extra slot

Pros: Powerful cardExcellent performanceExcellent cooling
Comment:
A excellent card with excellent cooling If you want maximum performance for gaming without going SLI one of these is all you will need.Stock is already overclocked to 816mhz but with no problems I was able to bump it up even higher to 850mhz and memory to 4400mhz under full load at 850mhz it's maxing out at 91*C.If you played a bit more with it you can go higher i'm sure but with the new SWTOR with full graphics on in 1920x1200 my FPS is 110 everywhere so very happy with this card its powerful and quiet with autofan the only time I ever heard the card was on the load test when at 91*C the cooling fan got louder then the system fans but gaming you can't even hear the card.

Cons: Big and expensive

Pros: can overclock like a mofo and works like a five dollar hooker on welfare wensday
Comment:
Had mine for a while now (bought elsewhere-sorry NCIX)and this thing is beast. Only card on the market imo to compete with msi lightning extream cards. I modded mine to a Corsair H70 cpu watercooler while retaining the stock fans. I can reach 5000mem and 1017core o 53c....lol i know right! Looks fantastic, works fantastic, meant to be modded and great software inclucded. You can screw up the bios and just bring it back to stock by pressing a button. You can overvolt the card to 2.175v without mods or softwar hacks-feature of the card. It has a load indicator light on the side which can change color and a great backplate for looks. Fantastic card.

Cons: -price-size

Pros: -Performance-Low-noise-cool LED's
Comment:
First off, this card is incredible. If you have $600 kicking around and need something worthwhile to spend it on, this card is it. It's handled everything I throw at it with ease. Haven't ran too many benchmarks on it, but it never dropped under 100FPS in 3dmark06 (averaged much higher). Keep in mind this thing is HUGE, so make sure you have room in your case. Although the triple-slot design eats up space, it makes up for it in how quiet it is. No more wailing sounds of small fans winding up. Also, the GPUtweak tool makes OC'ing a breeze. Overall, this is the best graphics card I've owned and will be purchasing a second one for SLi. Oh, and did I mention it has glowing LED's that change colour depending on the load?

Cons: It's like the size of a shoebox, had to remove the hood on my HAF X's side fan to put it inSafe mode switch usage is NOT explained anywhere in the documentation or on the site!

Pros: So much powerRuns coolNeat looking LED on the side shows current loadSafe mode switch in case you blow something up when overclocking
Comment:
I'll let the many professional reviews speak for themselves on this one - this is a powerful card that's made for overclocking. However I'd be wary of burning your settings to the BIOS. After doing so, all my settings were set SUPER low (50mhz etc) and I could not change them back. It took some furious googling before I discovered the way to use the safe mode switch to revert my settings (turn off system, hold down button, turn on system, side LED will turn green, hold button down until windows boots up and it will prompt you to re-flash the BIOS to defaults)Other than that, using the GPU Tweak software was fine. No problems as long as I didn't try to flash the BIOS with it.

Cons: -Takes 3 expansion slots-Some heat dump in the case

Pros: -Excellent heatsink-Quiet, even under load-Good software-Overclocks nicely-Price (Relatively speaking)
Comment:
If you've ever thought that you'd happily sacrifice an expansion slot if it meant shutting up a whining GPU fan, this card may be for you.On auto, the fans sit at minimum (20% speed) for anything short of Furmark burns, and their noise character (when you can hear it) is very smooth. Core temps are always under 70, usually under 60. This heatsink seriously beats the pants off any aftermarket heatsink out there and if you want better, you'll need water. Definitely the high-point of this product (although the same is available in slightly slower/cheaper models). The GPU Tweak software has a very large range of settings you can monitor and chart, and when you find the settings you like, includes the ability to hard-code the settings into the card itself, rather than rely on the software further. While no where near as bad as many aftermarket heatsinks, this card definitely dumps more heat into the case than the stock heatsink so make sure your case has decent airflow.Overclocking is always hit and miss, no matter how the card is advertised, but I can at least say that mine had no trouble running at nearly 1000MHz core, so far.

Cons: Hard to SLI because heat sink is so bigPower supply still gets hot ie 116 deg

Pros: Nice clocking softwareLED work load indicatorSolid performanceGood stock cooling
Comment:
Will need to liquid cool anyway for optimum performance and slotting so the heat sinks are a bit of a waste but if you are planning on using only one card and no liquid cooling, this is definitely the way to go.

Cons: Doesnt overclock very well at all.

Pros: Looks good.Performs good.Runs cool.
Comment:
I bought this to replace my 580 DCU II. While it runs a little faster at factory clocks, I was hoping that it would overclock like crazy. It doesnt. You could save a bit of money and buy the DCU II version. It still think its an excellent product though, and highly recommend it. Just dont expect crazy clocks.

Cons: -Size

Pros: -Tons of room for overclocking-Outstanding performance-Runs cool-Quiet-Solid Software-Looks Beautiful
Comment:
I could not be more pleased with this card. I had my doubts when I first purchased it, but after reading some more reviews and fiddling with the overclocking it has exceeded my expectations. I have it overclocked at 997MHz (5GHz Memory) with auto cooling and the card never breaks the 70 degree barrier under full load. I would take this card over any fan cooled GTX 580 out there. At max overclock it outperforms both the MSI Lightning [Max OC] and Lightning Xtreme Edition[Max OC] (links below) for a bit less than the Lightning and almost $100 less than the Xtreme.http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/43643-msi-gtx-580-lightning-xtreme-edition-xe-3gb-review-18.htmlhttp://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/45158-asus-rog-gtx-580-matrix-platinum-review-16.html This review was modfied by poster j 08-17-11 06:10 AM This review was modfied by poster c 08-17-11 07:39 AM This review was modfied by poster @ 08-18-11 12:38 PM

Cons: the card is huge

Pros: fast and powerful
Comment:
THere are many GTX 580's out on the market at the moment and it makes choosing one very challenging so hopefully this helps someone.I bought this card about a month ago with gaming and folding in mind and so far this card has not let me down. I am running COD 4 promod at 250 fps stable, BFBC2 at 190 FPS, and it maxes out everything else I throw at it. I am running it on a 23'' 1920 by 1080 monitor and all settings a max on all the games mentioned. The cooling system that comes preinstalled on the card is amazing, the card runs idle at 29 degrees celsius with room temp being around 20 C. The only problem with this card is the fact that it takes up 3 slots, but that doesnt effect me becuase it is the PCI card I have at the moment. Overall I am very happy with the card and would recommend it to anyone, I may pick up a second one for SLI in the future if they will fit in my case.
