Sturdy aluminum construction. Not as well flashy. 6 channels. Maybe the cost. Perhaps. I had a fan controller years ago, and it worked nicely but it was made from plastic, it was as well flashy, and it was genuinely flimsy. I could pull the nobs off and bed the dam factor with no pondering about it. This fan controller is quite solid, higher good quality, and low important. It was Excellent for my case. I could not be happier with it.

Every energy user ought to have one of these. You want fantastic fans for the intense moments... but through the dull moments, I like some peace and quiet. If you are moving cables about, a smaller snag can quickly pull out the power connector from the back of the faceplate. If you don't have significantly space, this could be tricky to plug back in devoid of removing the handle panel you just mounted. Watch your temps, and don't be afraid to crank up that wind tunnel.

Good Seeking. Uncomplicated to Set up. Poorly constructed. A single of my blue LEDs went out. As noted elsewhere, the knobs really feel flimsy, Zalman appears to be going downhill. There are better items on the market. Next build, I'll get one particular.

This is a quite decent looking unit and was effortless to install. The primary purpose I purchased this was as a hub for my 6 case fans. The range of adjustment for the individual fans is virtually unnoticeable. The only way you can actually tell anything is happening is the dimming of the fans leds. The market place for fan controllers is quite dim from what I've observed on newegg. Most the designs are poor and from what I've study it's almost a lottery obtaining these factors and obtaining one devoid of some sort of catastrophic flaw.

- Helped reduced my Pc noise by 60%. I have it hooked up to all my fans, except the ultra silent ones that can easily run at max with no noise at all. (They are 14db with over 70cfm cold and silent.)- Regular strength knobs. I was curious about the damaging knobs comments myself, but the knobs on my unit just fine in my opinion. They are obtaining an unnecessary bashing by some evaluations, but I can assure you there is no want to worry about them.- Incredibly precise fine tuning of the method's noise. Be sure to use some software program to monitor the temps and rpms. You want anything to still be cool enough. Note: some CPU heatsink fans have onboard cool & quiet technology - I personally find that automation fairly annoying and it doesn't generally work appropriately. I hooked mine up to this unit and couldn't be happier! I've run some burn tests and 70% of rpm operates fine for lengthy intensive tasks with most heatsink fans. - 6 fan ports!- two (C1) Y cables! Absolutely nothing as well bothersome (hence the 5-stars).Some LEDs don't light up with some of my fans, even so it appears all of the LEDs do certainly operate as extended as you have the suitable fan plugged into them. I can't figure it out myself, but I don't genuinely care as long as the primary objective is functioning great (which it is).The little energy cord is undoubtedly tougher to plug in the unit after you've installed it into your case, due to the fact it's located on the extremely left edge. To resolve this: Plug-in the unit's energy cord just before you install it into your case. (Don't hook it up to your PSU as effectively, untill you have it installed the to case.) Not sufficient of a dilemma to lower my star rating for this although, trust me. I also bought a new fan (high CFM/low noise) for my PSU, but it's so quiet, I run it max speed on the motherboard instead.TIP 1: Be sure you have a silent PSU or know how to replace a loud PSU fan with a quiet one particular - otherwise, you won't hear significantly difference in noise improvement. Know what your performing, be cautious and make certain you know the precise fan size ahead of buying a single, else you can really quickly get the incorrect size. PSUs hold risky capacitors inside.TIP two: Be certain to hook your CPU Heatsink to this unit also utilizing the specific three-way cable to tell your mobo the fan is indeed hooked up.TIP three: Use totally free temperature and rpm monitor software program (a speedy search on the internet will come across the finest program at leading of the final results.hint hint)TIP 4: Some fans can't be tamed properly, replace the loudest fans for best results. There ARE practically inaudible fans on the marketplace nowTIP 5: Confirm that all your fans ARE operating on this! Don't use 2-pin fansTIP 6: a four-pin fan can be converte

Controls up to six fans and fairly cheap. Looks perfect in my HAF 932. I want the led's would remain red. If you turn the fans down to lowest speed, the led's are blue. But when you enhance it to about 33% and beyond, the led's all turn red. I favor them to be all red at all times. If you want to control additional than 4 fans, this is the fan controller for you.

It works, and it appears qualified. the face is anodized aluminum, not plastic. I'm running six 120mm scythe fans with no challenges. Even though I haven't set it up like this, you can use it to manage your CPU fan; DON'T. set your fan settings in your BIOS and let the Motherboard handle it. Chances are you will turn down the fan to get it quiet, the neglect to turn it back up and crash your system when the processor loads up. Use this for case fans and you'll be fine. the LEDs aren't what I anticipated. From the photographs I thought they have been just blue and changed brightness according to the fan speed but that's not the case. the lights are blue from -25%, then they change to red. It doesn't appear terrible, just FYI.

I require a fan controller badly and happened to come upon this one particular is some forums on the net. Immediately after the moderate critiques I decided to get it anyway. Blew me away (controllingly). Wow, that was corny lol. Anyway it is great. The controller keeps five fans in my HAF 922 cool and running. At max it sounds like a jet engine but on low it's just a purr. Knobs are type of flimsy but hopefully no one particular will be attempting to place heavy stress on them. Cool Runnings!

Very handsome aesthetics, and allows you to consolidate up to six fans with three-pin connectors into a single centralized unit. Also, it provides you control over the speed of these fans and, offered they also have an RPM signal lead, you have a visible indicator of their speeds via red/blue LEDs. The extension wires supplied were a lot more than adequate for connecting all of my fans, and two of them have a seperate RPM output motherboard connector to facilitate more precise monitoring. In practice, this unit enables me to achieve slightly significantly less fan noise with hardly any signifigant penalties in cooling efficiency (ӯ-5 degrees F distinction, but YMMV). When installation is fairly straightforward, no documentation is offered with the controller. It also necessary some minor fitting with the brackets to assure a additional snug match in the five.25" bay. The potentiometer knobs feel somewhat loose and fragile whilst getting turned and, as other people have noted, don't have a profound impact on the speed or noise of the fans they control. Ultimately, one particular of the extension wires had a pin that wasn't fully seated and didn't enable my video card cooler fan to power up. If you notice LEDs mysteriously going out on your controller, this may possibly be the explanation. Verify all of your connections to make sure they're strong. The whole "silent cooling" concept with this controller performs not so substantially in practice as it does in theory, and even though it does have some concerns that detract from the general good quality and function of the unit, I felt it was a worthwhile investment.

Quality construction - many evaluations state loose or wobbly knobs - not here. All required hardware & three-pin extension cables incorporated. Aluminum faceplate looks & feels impressive. LEDs are mighty vibrant for getting so small. Not a con - just a reality - no four-pin adapters included but it appears like four-pin adapter doesn't perform nicely with the LED sensors anyway. I tried a single and on that line the LED doesn't perform. Cables that loop into the mobo fan headers were good surprise, allowing speed monitoring. Tried it with my Arctic Cooler Freezer 64 - and located the supposed "silent" CPU heatsink is the loudest part of my create - lol.

This unit has easy, elegant, understated looks of the panel (unlike so a lot of gaudy ones from other businesses). Additional importantly, it operates reliably. I'd guess that this controller never ever runs the fans at complete 12v speed, even at the max setting, but that's perfectly fine. You may possibly never ever want to run your fans at the full speed anyways (if you did, you wouldn't need to have a fan controller, just a voltage switch). However manage more than the reduced speeds (where things go from somewhat quiet to silent) is very fine and correct. It gives lots of manage at the low-end to help you make your air-cooled technique inaudible. Will not perform with all fans. I have a feeling that this utilizes pulse-width modulation (PWM) to manage fans as opposed to basically altering the voltage. Due to the fact of this, I had to replace 3 of the 6 fans I was going to use with this unit (fans from 2 video cards, and my northbridge cooler fan). I have this functioning just fine with Scythe (S-Flex) and Silenx fans. Make confident your fans function with PWM initially. Also, they give you plenty of cables for this controller, but in an odd assortment. I ended up make my own cables using the pins and headers they supplied any approaches. I detest bright LEDs, or rather any LEDs on the front of my cases, so I took some actions to block out the light. I removed the front panel, painted the LEDs black with a paint pen, and then to be confident there was no light seeping by means of, I covered the back of the panel with electrical rubber tape, though common electrical vinyl tape would function too. You could remove the LEDs, but they're soldered to the circuit board (still, uncomplicated to twist/snap off). Now the unit is light-totally free.

-Def a pro with the capability to manage 6 fans-Black colour matches my Antec 1200 perfectly-I was able to hide my HD behind the controller, to complete my custom case look. -LEDS didn't operate soon soon after, and then entirely didn't operate at all. (controls operate properly nevertheless) The fan controller performs as it should, and I truly like the LED getting burned out mainly because my case theme is white cathodes, or uv/green cathodes. blue and red LED don't perform effectively with that. plus i thought they had been to bright.I wish there was the capacity to turn off the fans from the controller. Just offers me something to do in my spare time, I'll just add switches if I will need. This thing has (obviously) 6 control switches... two (white) for cpu, and 4 blue for additional fans. It matches the Zalman GS-1000 Professional (black) case. The leds go from blue to red when turned up to a higher fan speed... the leds are off when there is no fan plugged in. Leds can be also vibrant, at some points, like at night. Other than the leds, it's a great fan controller, and like stated, it goes wonderful with the black zalman full tower. Functions well and hope it lasts a lengthy time.

6x 3pin fan controller setup. Each has its personal knob so you can customize nevertheless you want. The LED lights are very good and not also bright. Uncomplicated effortless to install and manage. None. This fan controller is perfect. If you turn the fan speed up the light changes from blue to red. Its also about the very same area where you can start off to hear the fans. I dont know if they planned it that way, but its quite slick. NewEgg rocks

it looks nice (the black brushed aluminum goes amazingly effectively with my case). the led's transition from blue to red as you increase the fan speed, so that's good. it functions, especially if you have a lot of fans in the case (mine's an NZXT Tempest which comes with 6 fans, so this performs perfectly). um, like everyone else said, apparently zalman has some qc concerns. a single of the knobs on mine will rotate all the way around (the cease on it is loose on the back, so it'll just keep spinning) and one of the led's was doa. not major enough difficulties for me to RMA it, but a disappointment none the significantly less. be careful with toolless bays on some cases. i had to get inventive with mine to maintain the right side from pushing into the bay. Functions fantastic. while the Y spliter for the mother board plug does not recognize the fans in HWmonitor. It may be the fans im useing though. I will need to do some swapping out to make certain. Just the fan speed monitor for fan 1 and fan three which are my two CPU fans are not recognized below HWmonitor. I would definitly advise this to any person who wants to set up far more fans in there machine but dont need them running complete blast all the time.

If you have a lot of fans, it's a straightforward but slick looking way to go. Persons have complained about the feel of the knobs, but I assume they were pretty strong and dependable seeming. Doesn't match completely into a expansion slot - if you have led or cold cathodes inside, there will be light seepage around the top and sides of the unit. It's extremely shallow and only mounts to the closest set of screw holes for a slot, which can lead to it getting in a position to move slightly in its slot when pressed. From a private point of view, the LED for the initial fan apparently burnt out, within the initially month of use. The LED doesn't bother me terribly - my fans are quiet adequate that I hold them at full all the time anyway, which leads me to wonder why I bought this panel at all. Regardless, it appears pretty fantastic and operates as described.
