Cons: not all buttons work with xbmc fully work with xbmc

Pros: No drivers neeeded just plug and play
Comment:
Got this remote to use with XBMC, its fantastic, but i wish that all the buttons worked with it, i had to download xbmclauncher, to make the windows media centre button launch xbmc. I would however highly recommend this easy solution, for people wanting to complete their media center.

Cons: Uncompatible with USB v3.0

Pros: Cheap. Comfortable.
Comment:
I purchased it for my new HTPC. If to use it on a USB v3.0 port on a Zotac H67ITX-C-E mITX H67 MB, the HTPC restarts randomly. In USB v2.0 it works fine.

Cons: Buttons are fairly small and close togetherColor scheme of the remote leaves something to be desired

Pros: Great for HTPCCheap ($22)Worked great right out of the boxIR worked everytime, as long as you are pointed towards the USB receiver
Comment:
I purchased this for an HTPC build and am happy to report it works great. Every button on the remote worked right out of the box without requiring me to get any drivers. The buttons are responsive however are fairly small and quite close together if you have big hands. It obviously does not have a keyboard but if your HTPC is like mine and boots straight into WMC 7 there is no need for one. Overall am pleased with this product and especially atthis price.

Cons: None

Pros: Medium sized MCE remote with IR receiver
Comment:
Needed an IR receiver for my HTPC, and this unit fit the bill nicely. Has an extension cable so you can hide the PC and leave the IR receiver out.

Cons: Not excessive reception angles

Pros: Small usb dongleExtension Cable supplied
Comment:
I bought this solely for the dongle and the price. This remote was the cheapest MCE remote that i could find that comes with a small USB dongle. The reception angles on the dongle are not greatest (you pretty much have to be above it, but with proper placement I have had no problems. They even supply a USB extension cable to help you get the placement right.

Cons: Remote feels cheap

Pros: Cheap, versatile
Comment:
I bought this just so I could have an IR receiver for my HTPC as I already had a logitech harmony so I was never planning on using the remote. Works great and a great addition to my HTPC.

Cons: Not fully supported OOB for lirc (can easily add the codes to source and compile), dongle failure!!!!

Pros: Cheap price, small dongle.
Comment:
Had this remote almost a year now (10 months) and its been working great this whole time. Just last night, the dongle has failed. It delays the bootup of the computer for a short while and when booted dmesg throws errors. The dongle is no longer working in windows 7 either and is recognized incorrectly (the dongle must be giving bad descriptors).Going to RMA this with mediasonic. This doesn't seem to be uncommon either. Funny how it failed so close to the warranty period ending (typical nowadays isnt it).

Bought this for my HTPC but I still prefer the feel on my old remote so I've been using this on my main computer. Works great, good buy.

Cons: none so far

Pros: Small USB IR receiverSolid constructionEasy setupRemote/receiver activity indicator
Comment:
Simple setup. No special driver to install. The receiver has an activity light so does the remote. I just connected the receiver to my laptop and in no time I was navigating through MCE! Sleep mode works when pressing the power button. No delays when pressing the buttons. The buttons are a little small and the remote is quite long for a small hand but Mediagate included every button needed to control MCE. Works with other apps too. Nice construction, the remote doesn't feel cheap. The range is good, I tested 12 feet. The remote sits flat on a table and doesn't rock when pressing buttons. I'm happy with it!

I use it with harmony one control and it works great for xbmc. The remote looks solid too but I have owned the harmony alreay so there is no use for me.

Cons: Not as solid as my TV remote, but much more robust than my DVD player remote!

Pros: Just works. Included USB extension cable means I can put the receiver by the TV rather than plugging into the front of the box.
Comment:
I bought this for my Linux HTPC running xbmc and I was expecting to have to mess around for an hour or two to get it to work, so I was pleasantly surprised when I just installed lirc, told it I had an MCE USB remote and everything basically just worked. The only button I've tried that's not working so far is the DVD menu, but I'm sure I can find some way to get that going. For the price it's hard to fault as a cheap HTPC remote.

Cons: Feels cheap.

Pros: Works well with Windows Media Player in Win7.
Comment:
This remote control works well. I like the fact that the USB dongle is smaller than a thumb print. The old MS remote I have came with a USB dongle the size of a deck of cards. The remote feels cheap, but it is cheap so that isn't much of a weakness.Highly recommended for the price.
