Effectively made. U.S. company. This SSD is twice as rapid as the kingston that it is replacing and at a extremely competitive value.Almost everything about this is great. None. As SSD's are beginning to be applied a lot more in netbooks, laptops, slates and the like, the value for these will come down even more. None-the-significantly less, Mushkin is supplying an SSD that is worth every penny.

Super rapid.Cool running.Stable.Incredibly low energy use. Price but its still fairly new. Mushkin requirements a lot more spoken about how fantastic their solution is. I now have 2 of their SSD's and adore them a ton. The 90 Mushkin is becoming employed in my old laptop and it gave it new life! The cost is high but worth just about every penny for the overall performance. Go Mushkin!

Quick. My Windows 7 functionality score went from five.9 to six.9 right after installing the Mushkin SSD. It was 1 of the much less high-priced 240GB SSDs, but also one of the quickest. Mushkin incorporates a three inch bracket, but no hardware to convert the bracket to 2.5 inches which is what you will need to set up the SSD in a tower. Because I was replacing a 30GB SSD, I just used that bracket, and will reinstall the 30GGB SSD as a scratch drive as quickly as I choose up a converter bracket. Several of the drives come with the conversion bracket, and an Esata cable, but not the Mushkin.

Quickly - Clean install of windows 7 64 in my Thinkpad W520 and this thing screams. No hassel, firmware updates, standing on one particular leg, and so forth. I'm not into putting in and operating benchmarks but the WEI is 7.eight if you care.Mushkin guarantees you get the 34nm flash as opposed to 0CZ and their 25nm fiasco. It handles hosts OS and several virtual machines gracefully. Pricy. Not great for Full Disk Encryption (truecrypt, bitlocker); in fact actually bad. If you want to use these SSDs are not optimal but specially do not use sandforce controller as it does not handle randomized/compressed data nicely. This is the most important cause for four stars. Time will tell on reliability. Right after previously obtaining burnt with a G.Skill Falcon and unending indilinx firmware fixes, I am going with a thing that has a small confirmed background rather than the bleeding edge. This appears to fit the bill.So quickly that hibernate seldom makes sense. It only requires a couple of seconds longer to do a cold boot.

Rapid, exact same as OCZ Vertex two, but was less costly than Vertex 2 when I bought it. With Sandforce controller they make far more sense as MAC OSX drives as OSX does not assistance TRIM and the SF does garbage collection well without needing TRIM. None so far. Still going powerful as my hackintosh boot drive.

Practically precisely like my evaluation I wrote prior to christmas 2010 of the 60 gig Mushkin callisto deluxe i ordered for my buddy. ATTO benchmarks= more than 80 mg/sec write and over 80 mg/sec study at 4k.226.three usable gigs will allow the ssd to final longer than smaller sized ones ( the maintenance technology dealing with the sandforce I forgot the precise terminology and facts. sorry.) .. America hasn't started making her Own Sandforce based controllers nevertheless that way WE CAN FINANLY HAVE Anything 100% AMERICAN Made, BUILT, AND SOLD IN... (wait for it....waaaaait for it..) IN AMERICA! as an alternative of china or taiwan, and so on. I am SO freakin glad I chose to order this drive though it was 419.00 ahead of the price tag literally jumped a lot more than 30 bucks LATER THAT DAY! and it jumped a different chunk of bucks to 459.00 ... truly? guess i don't fully grasp how the economics of markets, sales, etc is SUPPOSED to operate right after the christmas and near years vacation sales that are permitted by Goldman Sachs and the rest of the puppet masters of the world. Build quality. Overall performance. Includes Pc installation bracket (if not installing into laptop). Competitive price vs other SSD's. none Mushkin rocks! This drive is replacing a slower/smaller Kingston SSD. (the kingston functions fine, just wanted a more rapidly/larger drive)The Mushkin is going into an Acer with an i3. My WEI on the ssd is now 7.7 up from 6.7 w/the Kingston. The improved overall performance is measurable. I don't even use my Pc any longer!

High speed Sandforce controller in a fairly significant capacity SSD. Assembled in the USA. Easy firmware upgrade with no information loss. Superior Mushkin technical help. The price tag could be superior and there is no upgrade path to the next generation of Sandforce controller. Sandforce controllers are speed superior and so far I have been content with the size and efficiency of these drives. Place a single in my major desktop as a data drive and have one particular in my laptop as the boot and information drive. They are each rapid and carry out flawlessly. The firmware upgrade is simple (make certain you wait for it to complete) and does not destroy information on the drive like other controllers firmware updates. I contacted (by email) Mushkin Technical Support on a straightforward problem and they responded within an hour with the correct answer. Windows Encounter Index Tough Drive = 7.four. High speed reliable drive, assembled in America, uncomplicated non-destructible firmware update and rapidly, reputable technical support. What far more could you ask for!

Incredibly fast. This is a fantastic drive if you are not utilizing Apple hardware. There are difficulties with some unibody MBPros and sandforce drives. I have an early 2010 unibody 13in MBPro. If my machine is left sitting and it goes to sleep it freezes and I get the beach ball of death and can no longer log in. The only way to recover is to restart the machine. I disabled hibernate, tried everything I could come across on Mushkin/OCZ forums but it continues to hang. If you have a MBPro, wait for the subsequent series of hardware just before getting. Do some study on drive forums just before buying if you are running a MBPro.

Very rapid SSD. Operates fantastic in MacBook Pro. No sleep problems below OSX like I've read on some forums. Photoshop CS5 opens in 3-4 seconds flat. Mail - instant. Firefox, possibly 1-two seconds with extensions. Awesomely fast. Dead drive in less than 30 days of use. I shut my laptop down at a client's workplace. Drove property, hit the energy button on my MacBook Pro and the drive wasn't recognized. Target mode = no luck. Pulled the drive and put it in an external enclosure - no drive recognized. Connected it to a Windows XP system - no drive recognized. Dead, dead, dead, along with all my information. (I had a backup 1 week old, so I only lost 1 week of work, but nonetheless - uncool.) Mushkin RMA approach was a bit of a hassle. No humans answering the phone, so I couldn't ask any queries about the drive. Had to RMA via e mail which took about 4 days. Return shipping was slow-boat, so I've been with out a replacement now for pretty much 10 days. Again, uncool. For the price tag we pay for these big SSDs, a little far more focus need to be given to the RMA method and the speed of return. I'll write a different review after utilizing the replacement SSD.

Right after about a month of heavy use (several hours a day) this drive has performed beautifully. I'm operating Windows 7 Professional, and I’ve clocked startup at 30-35 seconds from power-on to every thing loaded. I've had absolutely no trouble with hibernating or sleeping, which happen nearly immediately. I have also noticed an increase in battery time; on the other hand, as I upgraded to Windows 7 at the same time, I'm not sure if that's thanks to 7 or the SSD (as both do aid). High cost entry point, though this is undoubtedly one of the a lot more economical lines of SSD. That becoming mentioned it's challenging to really feel jipped when the performance boost is so noticeable. I can also take this device with me when I move to a new laptop, which helps ease my inner Mr. Scrooge.240 GiB 鴟 GB) is not adequate storage if you're attempting to put a lot of media on your personal computer. Until SSDs get a little larger, I would recommend a good external HD or a high-capacity USB stick. I would extremely recommend this drive, in spite of the high price. This is a superior investment that has breathed new life into my three-year-old laptop.Currently I have this drive about 90% full and CrystalDiskMark three reported the following:񡹨 MB Test - five Passes)Sequential: 209 Read, 106 WriteRandom 512k: 197 Read, 109 WriteRandom 4k: 17 Read, 32 WriteRandom 4k (Queue Depth = 32): 77 Read, 55 Write(all numbers are MB/s)That's pretty darn terrific efficiency for having the drive so full.

Every little thing the other reviews say is accurate. It's extremely quickly. The Sandforce controller is nearly a need to when applied with a Mac since OS X doesn't assistance TRIM yet (time to get with it, Apple). Low energy usage and extremely low operating temperature. If speed is essential to you, your feel that your average laptop or computer usage warrants a massive SSD and you can afford it, Acquire THIS DRIVE. (Don't obtain it for a HTPC. You won't notice anything but a faster boot time, and perhaps reading your movie database quicker.)(Insert obligatory statement about how Newegg is great -- but you knew that already or you wouldn't be here.) Price, but that's a con with all SSDs.At 240GB, it's major for a SSD but it's small compared to a HDD. I'm a developer and I run local servers to create against (IIS and SQL on Windows, Apache and MySQL on OS X). I can't even put into words how Quickly these drives are. Every little thing I do on a day-to-day basis fits comfortably in 240GB, but I have a secondary HDD installed in my Windows box to deal with virtual machine pictures. You know, I bear in mind paying about 輪 for my 1st 1GB HDD around 1996. The cost of this drive is proper about Ū.08 per gigabyte. It's not poor at all, if you think about it that way.

This drive is unreal. Yes, the price was painful and took me a long time to lastly go for it, but I wish I'd completed it ages ago. I have mine in a 2010 13" MBP and I have in no way had a single problem with it. I've been purchasing (for my pc organization and personal use) Mushkin RAM for about 5 years now and I cannot rave adequate about the good quality and integrity of the business. In that time, we have bought, (literally) tens of thousands of dollars of RAM and possibly only had to return about 1% of that. They are generally stellar with the honoring of their lifetime RAM warranty and following lengthy conversations with my rep there, I'm convinced that their manufacturing and testing standards are superior than any individual else's. After reading all of the horrific critiques on the slightly less expensive OCZ SSDs, I'm completely willing to pay a bit more for Mushkin for all of the grief I've saved.I know this sounds like an ad, but I couldn't be more pleased with their items & personnel. Nick rocks! Honestly, I cannot believe of one. I guess we generally wish that things had been more affordable, but typically you get what you pay for. I know these companies exist on really skinny margins and when you obtain from NewEgg, you're already getting 1 of the skinniest out there! Again, this will sound like a commercial, but this is the truth for our Apple pc organization here in Southern California:Mushkin now just indicates high quality to us. NewEgg is value and when you add high good quality names like Mushkin to it, there is no other location you need to have devote your scarce coin. I know that sounds a bit cheesy, but it's the truth. :-)

This drive is extremely rapidly and has performed well for everything I have thrown at it to date. One Linux application (hddtemp) gets confused by odd characters in the S.M.A.R.T. model name that this drive reports, but that is not too challenging to perform about. Otherwise, absolutely nothing.

I run Mac OS X on a MacBook Pro. The drive is blazing rapid, and I Adore IT. Boot time is 10 seconds everytime, Adobe CS5 suite runs very quickly as properly as Final Cut Studio. Using parallels is amazing as nicely, my VMs boot within two seconds. I'm getting a lot of issues with Bootcamp. I can't appear to install Windows 7 nor Windows Vista on bootcamp, it gets to the end of the install, freezes and when trying to boot it fails, then when trying to boot secure mode it gets stuck on crcdisk.sys that's my only complaint, i've been trying to get in get in touch with with the company so i'll see if they e-mail back
