Very quickly transfer rate and access time. Windows 7 loading is blistering rapidly.RAID with this SSD on Intel Ich10r is match made in heaven. It's black and looks truly slick.Comes in really good/high class packaging unlike OCZ agility two. Want SATA cables would come with this Bought this together with OCZ Agility two 60gb for RAID to add additional speed to my desktop, which already had an Adata 64gb Sandforce SSD on it. The result is thoughts boggling right after putting all three drives (Mushkin Callisto Deluxe 60gb, OCZ Agility two 60gb, and Adata S599 64gb) in RAID . three x 60gb Sanforce 1200 SSDs in RAID on Intel ICH10R chipset (EVGA SLI LE MB), achieved about 512 mb/s sequential read and 207 mb/s sequential write (I was receiving around 200mb/s on a single SSD). Games now load a lot more rapidly than ahead of. I spent total of 300$ on these 3 drives, and it's the finest 300$ I've ever spent on computer system components, highly recommended. |

Performs like a champ. I'm using it as an OS drive, and there's a noticeable difference in boot-up time from my old 500GB HDD (that I now use solely to shop my files and media). The holes for the 3.5" adapter we as well little for the screws in my antec 900 case. Not a issue, I just secured it in spot with some electrical tape. Worth the income in my opinion, I just wish the price tag per GB would be closer to that of an HDD |

ICH10 P43 ASRock generic board.Requires 9 seconds to boot up from the second the four dots meet to make the windows sign to seeing desktop and prepared to open programs. kinda rapid no updater for Macs? get with it.boot ups hang sometimes.Won't set up on Linux period. Ubuntu installer crashes. Like any other manufacturer for SSD drives Mushkin has come up against difficulties with their firmware. Regrettably for anyone who runs Linux or OS X you're out of luck with regards to updating the firmware. Bizarre. |

virtually absolutely nothing. I've played about with this drive for the past 4 months and I'm seriously having a difficult time figuring out what is excellent about it - other than the inherent pros of SSD in common. If this evaluation is about this Mushkin drive then there are no pros. practically at each and every turn I attempt to get this issue to operate to be presented with but an additional purpose why Mushkin has taken the easy road. I identified a Windows machine to execute a firmware update but apparently can't do it mainly because of Intel RAID controller?. Give me a break. I _can_ comprehend why this may well be an issue but....Mushkin: do what everybody else does - produce a bootable Linux image and carry out the firmware update from that. If you can't figure out how to do that then I guess there's not a lot of hope that you know what you're doing.I can't update the firmware from Linux, nor from OS X. This is supposed to be a drop in replacement for a difficult drive - a piece of hardware that is OS agnostic. Why would you produce application to help the drive that relies on only a single OS? |

If you're organizing to use an SSD with OSX Sandforce is the ideal game in town. Drive is comparable to other Sandforce drives (which are wicked fast), and often for a bit significantly less income. Does its job with no errors or complaint, and also utilizes significantly less energy than a spinning disk. Can't feel of any. Installed in a 2010 13" MBP operating ten.6.5. |

Dropped a good amount from a couple of days ago.Cost!Limited Storage!brand new controller This is a brand new sandforce 1200 controller.. and SSD is nevertheless immature in my opinion. If you want the best and have cash get it. I use raid 1Ʈ 15k sas drive in most of my servers and workstations so the speed genuinely isn't that a lot higher but still awesome for a single drive. I nonetheless would advise raiding a couple affordable 7.2k rpm drives for a quick price range builds and basic purpose. On my dell D630 from energy button to login screen is ㅈ seconds... |

Sandforce 1200-series controllerQuick- boots into Windows 7 in 16 secondsmost programs load almost on commandWEI of 7.7 for Windows 7reduces load times and frame price drops whilst gaming- especially in open planet RPG's exactly where new textures and objects are loaded on-the-fly from the really hard drive to the method/graphics memory Not actually a con, but SSD's are still somewhat pricey for the amount of storage provided. Even so, that's the price tag for overall performance.Otherwise, no issues. SSD work very best with Windows 7 for native TRIM assistance. Also, make certain to have TRIM and AHCI enabled. This goes for all SSD's.It is a fantastic thought to only use this drive for your Windows installation, critical programs and a couple of games. Maintain pictures, music and motion pictures on a separate drive or external drive.A 3.five inch metal adapter bracket is integrated for desktop customers. The SSD is also packed in dense foam, so it is safe for the duration of shipping. As a bonus, the drive is manufactured in the USA. |

The Mushkin Callisto Enhanced has the highest claimed transfer prices, read and create, in its class at a moderate price tag. It turns out Mushkin's claims are not empty. I have two of these in a mirrored configuration as boot disks in a Gentoo Linux box, and they are screaming quickly. On a JFS filesystem and working with kernel mirroring, it took two.17 seconds to produce a 1GB file. They are, of course, utterly silent, and run particularly cool. The included 2.five" to 3.five" mounting bracket leaves a lot to be preferred. In a basic screw-in configuration exactly where the screws employed don't matter, it'll *work*, and it'll will probably operate with most snap-in rails. It utilizes fine-thread FDD/CDROM-variety screws to mount into the drive cage, even though, and will not accept regular HDD screws, so if you have a case like the Thermaltake Element G that calls for the use of standard-thread HDD mounting screws, it's not going to function. So, if your case utilizes any kind of toolless or anti-vibration disk mounting, plan on buying distinct disk adapters anyway. SSDs are coming down in price. It'll be a extended time ahead of they catch up with difficult disks, for the exact same capacity. But in a scenario exactly where you have only OS on local disk and all your mass storage is out on network storage, we're already at the point exactly where SSDs can give you all the storage you Will need for not a large value premium over disks. In this case, the machine runs Gentoo Linux, and the root filesystem is by no means going to use more than about 30GB anyway. With two mirrored 60GB Mushkin Callistos, I have all the disk space I need, blinding speed for even a number of parallel compiles, and 12GB of swap that's closer to the speed of major memory than to regular rotating disk. Combined with a Thuban-core PhenomII x6 and DDR3-1600 RAM, the outcome is a machine so blazingly rapidly it'll singe your eyebrows at thirty paces. |

This drive fly's. Windows Index went from five.9 on my 10.000rpm Raptor to 7.6 . Windows loads quicker and so does everything else. This is my first SSD drive so hopefully this thing lasts. True satisfied proper now.. No Cons. Delivered by UPS globe class shipping. New Egg packaged this drive real well. Generally hate it when someone gets mad at UPS for the poor packaging that New Egg does from time to time. Folks if it's packaged suitable then it will get there in a single piece. All shipping corporations ship their packages the very same way, either on a truck or an airplane. All packages go by way of the very same pounding no matter who the carrier is. The distinction is that UPS are the most professional and hardest functioning. |

Modest, No heat, .four-.2 ms latency, Raid with 3 drives is blistering quickly, 3 Year warranty, No moving parts, Nice packedging, Mushkin Excellent all about.Seriously this drive is actually rapidly. I dropped three in my gaming rid and set them up in Raid I get 700+ MBs read and write.I replaced three SAS 15K RPM drive and let me tell you I notice the distinction write away, games load in a 1ǚ of the time and the SAS drive were Quick as well. Fallout 3 utilised to Lag when reading new data but it doesn't even flinch, COD4 MW2 loads even ahead of it gets 1ቦ of the way into the cut scene, Metro 2033 requires perhaps two seconds to load a level.I swear this setup is truly seriously spoiling me on speed. From power button press to (Usable) Desktop even with password entry is only 25-30 seconds. Shutdown in less than 10.Once SSD is more affordable and a lot more mature I will be replacing all my Drives in all my computers. Loose feeling SATA connector tends to make me scared that it could pop off in the future. Size is a bit small but good with 3 in Raid . No raid controller will pass the trim command to a raid volume but, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the drive.Alignment with ghosting is challenging to recognize. Look like it didn't make a distinction although.Just about 500 for 160GB formated Raid is allot of funds. But When you want the fastest thing out there you have to pay a premium. Not positive if anybody else noticed that when the drive reads or writes a small red led flashes inside the case by the SATA connector. you can not see the led just the light from it. I guess this is to enable you to see it working because there is no sound from it operating. The integrated SSD adapter bracket is very good but it comes with custom thred screws so if you have an Antec 902 case like me with specific long screws for the HDD mounts then it might not work for you. I had to re-tap the holes and then I realized only two truly lined up. But where is it going to go it weighs a couple oz's. Would have perfered to be capable to place normal screws in the fram with out modding it.Would be cool to include things like a cool Translucent SATA cable to but I know most drive don't even come with a cable so.. |

Produced in USA. Quick as advertised. Utilizing it as a Boot/OS/Apps drive. Fresh install of Win 7 Pro x64 followed by 1 month of standard usage and here are the ATTO benchmarks: Reads = 284mb/sec, writes = 266mb/sec on an HP Z200 Xeon Workstation. Significantly more quickly than the RAID ten 1TB data volume on the similar machine that is composed of 4x500GB SATA disks which max out at 174MB/sec read and 150MB/Sec write. This drive performs the exact same as my OCZ Vertex 2 120GB in my laptop. None |

Fantastic speed in the Windows evironment. When past the GUI boot screen, my Pc is prepared to do what I ask almost instantaneously where prior to I would have to wait 20 sec for my HDD to catch up with itself. Installed, put Windows 7 Residence Premium on it. It booted up fine for awhile - but I just lately went through a stint exactly where it would have problems receiving previous the GUI boot screen. I suppose a new format might fix the difficulty. |

When installing Win 7, program froze at 81%. Initially I believed it was stuck. Shut down the system. Re-install. It did the identical point at 81%. Then I did a google. It in fact happend to other guys. What happened is that the installation stuck at 81% for like 12 minutes and moved forward.2. The thermal sensor is absolutely not operating correctly. It provides me 1 C or 39 F all the time. To me, this is a excellent solution. My laptop has two drives. SSD for booting drive, and the original Seagate 320GB 5400 rpm harddrive for storage. Operating like a charm.
