This tuner would randomly disconnect itself. Would be working one day, then not working the next. The device manager would show this tuner on the days it worked. Then it would disconnect after reboot, and naturally device manager not showing it. Scan for new hardware doesn't find it. Very frustrating. Running Win 7 64 bit with all the proper drivers installed, so that wasn't the problem. Even when it did work. Scan resulted in jsut a few channels. QAM is not encrypted in my area yet, so I expected more than just the over the air free channels.

Purchased this in place of the whitebox version due to sale price and rebate. Don't intend to use Avermedia application, but Win 7 Mediacenter. The Duet was detected as a dual tuner, and all OTA ATSC DHDTV channels were detected as expected by Mediacenter.

I installed it on my computer and it worked great. I wish there was a way to pin up while you were working on other applications.

the card is great. beautiful hd pq. the media center software is not very user friendly. i am using xp at this time. i will be changing over to 7. this card is outstanding and i would recommend it to anyone.however, iwould suggest buying the oem version without the software.its cheaper i must say that i am only using this for over the air reception ,which is excellent.i do not have cable so i dont know about the qam part.

Very dissappointing, not the fault of AverMedia! Cox Cable in New Orleans does not broadcast QAM identifications and after about 12 hours of research I've totally given up. I've managed to manually configure about 5 local stations. I've been to all the sites that list the QAM numbers and none work. It's evident that they change the QAM id's too regurlar for this product to work for me. AverMedia, really nice but no solution in my area -frown-.
