Cons: Buggy OSProne to DataLoss with Jbod.Slow and unresponsive OS.Poor support from thecus.Slow UILoud

Pros: Its Fast when It works
Comment:
I had other thecus devices which I never had an issue with, these on the other hand are awful.JBod will work but possibly break when ever it feels like.Can't upgrade the firmware with out doing a wipe on the disks.These are loud no way to control the fans what so ever. The OS if accessed to much through web interface becomes unresponsive. The unit will not shut down sometimes or reboot. The UI takes forever to refresh.You loose functionality when you upgrade the firmware, that means you loose functionality that you previously had.I lost 800 gigs worth of data that I had dating back to 1998. I am very angry and disappointed, the 129 dollars I paid for it was not worth it. The Dlink DNS 323 that I have is a champ compared to this hunk of junk. I am currently in the process of asking for a refund.

Cons: A bit loud;

Pros: Incredibly fast for the price;
Comment:
This is my first Thecus and my second NAS;Compared to my old DLink DNS-321, this thing is LIGHTNING-FAST!Can reach as high as 60mb/s from the NAS down and 40mb/s up with 2 Seagate Green drives in JBOD. (~ 3X faster)Build quality is top-notch; inserting the drives using racks is cool and feels kinda-pro.LCD indicator is also pretty cool on paper, but this one is basically useless; lets just say it adds to the look.Setup is very easy;Transfers are fast; but the unit itself is not super-reactive; especially the web interface; but it is ok anyway; there is not much to do after initial setup.A bit too loud for my liking, though; Fan throttling is not implemented in current firmware; and goes full blast 24/24h 7/7.I have to turn it off while I sleep. I cant remember the last time I shut off my DNS-321. Thecus is aware of this issue and promised a fix in an upcoming firmware, but right now it is far from being quiet.Might request an RMA for this reason; not quite sure yet.One thing is sure tough; I wont find another one as fast for 129$.If it wasnt so loud I would have gave it a full 5 stars.
