A lot of connectors for the front of the computer. I purchased this all in one particular to replace my preceding all in 1 due to the fact my board has HD audio. The product advertises hd audio and has a connector labeled hd Audio but when I plug it into my board the head phones do not function. The mic functions but not the head phones. The front SATA does not perform either.

Operates perfectly with a Gigabyte P35C-DS3R motherboard which includes the HD audio. It switches involving the external speakers and my earbuds when pugged in. Functions with the new SDHC cards as nicely. No beige panel included. Who has a silver case??? I like it.

I like the audio input jacks. My tower doesn't have any external usb, firewire, or esata ports on it. So all of these are a plus on the card reader. Oh, the usb/firewire/and audio connections are totally dummy proof. Jus know exactly where those pins are on your mother board. this doesn't support pro duo mem cards. Kinda sucks cuz my camera utilizes duo cards. I need to have study what cards are supported just before getting. Other than that, no complaints. I don't know if this occurs to everyone, but the card isn't flushed with the front of my case. it sits just tad bit deeper in my five.25 slot. It's okay tho. I assume it appears better that way.

Was able to finally use about just about every motherboard connector obtainable. The functionality such a device adds to your computer is immeasurable - I use it each day. (Almost) idiot proof installation. Dinged a star for getting 100% plastic and feeling incredibly quite flimsy. Felt like I was going to bend/break one thing by tugging on the wires throughout install. No installation screws supplied. Thinking about the cost/benefit ratio, this is probably the best investment you will ever make in your computer system.

Uncomplicated installation, incredibly straightforward to set up and hook up to the motherboard. Not confident what would have caused this, but the 1st time I utilised the USB port on the device it cooked my motherboard. now i have to get a new computer since of this device. very very upset. I dont think i will even wast my time returning this device. i am just going to throw it off the tallest creating i can uncover. believed it would be nice to have a card reader for simple uploads of pictures of my nikon, but now im in the hold financially mainly because of this. not really happy.

Installation was straightforward!Every thing performs! The audio is excellent! Sorry - no complaints here! I read the reviews and honestly I do not realize why so many people are complaining about the build top quality of this item. Yes, it's plastic, but the four screws produced for a secure mount in my case. This point isn't going anyplace! The usb ports work well. Honestly, I have not attempted the card readers but Windows has identified all of them so I am confident they'll function. I am extremely satisfied with my acquire! I am contemplating getting an additional for a 2nd personal computer.

As a basic rule this device performs and its several media types is incredibly welcomed. It gets the job performed, additional or much less for my media server. SD doesn't often perform, particularly it appears not to be able to not study SDHC, somewhat generating the device useless. At the incredibly least it can't read from my Nikon digiSLR.The slots are a bit flakey and demand gentle touches to get factors to perform. Some of the ports don't seem to operate, nevertheless haven't been in a position to figure out why. Front panel is swappable, which is great, but feels a bit inexpensive. There are a ton of plugs on this device, and the cables onto its board are quite brief. Can be a dilemma in massive server instances.

Significantly far better layout than the previously obtainable unit had. Just the essentials, 3 USB ports, 1394, eSATA, and audio, for those who care. Two faceplates is a plus. The prior reviewer either has a poor command of the English language, or other issues that I select not to talk about. If an person requires the time to study the specifications and visits the companies Internet internet site, there is tiny else that would be needed to set up and take pleasure in the unit except typical sense. None that I can see. In fact, I anticipate getting additional of these, specifically with the introduction of the new layout. Having had encounter previous encounter, I really feel comfy in recommending this unit, specifically for those who want a single panel with so numerous attributes. Yes, it does take a “CD ROM” bay, but most instances have extras and the function set is additional than worth the size. The cables are all marked and quite straightforward to plug into the motherboard. If you want something like this, you can’t beat it for quality and price tag.

Functions like it really should, extended cables, two beziers to match up. Plastic (not metal) frame & beziers feel kinda inexpensive and limit reusability as the mounting screws strip out. The shallow depth of the frame makes it hard to not possible to mount in some circumstances making use of mounting rails (like the Antech P180) or locking brackets (ie the Thermaltake Soprano). Make certain this issue will fit your mounting system prior to buying.

Audio cable was extended sufficient to attain the back of a Rosewill Cruiser case. Clear sound out of audio port so got rid of the buzz in my case jack and so far all the other ports operate. No drivers necessary with Win 7. Face plate appears sturdy to me compared to other brands I have utilized. none Audio jack was stiff, maybe a fantastic thing. 3rd or 4th time using this brand.

Effectively-made, doesn't feel cheaply produced. I bought this because my case didn't have any front connections at all, and I got sick of crawling behind my desk to stick a USB stick in. I've attempted a couple memory cards and so far so excellent. USB connections all function. HD audio works, loving that! Effortless installation. Had to wait for it to come back in stock, but it was worth the wait :-). My motherboard didn't have the firewire either, but there is a PCI card accessible on NewEgg that has an onboard header connection on it (Item #: N82E16815108102). I purchased that simply because I'd hate to have a connection that doesn't do anything. I had to dig a tiny to find that card, so hopefully this will save someone else the time. Haven't had time to try firewire however although. Haven't tried the E-SATA however either.

oodles of card readers in one particular bracket. three USB slots as an alternative of two like most pc panels. Firewire (if you use it) and my savior: Esata (even more quickly than spooty FW 800). Now you can have an ext. Esata HDD if your motherboard doesn't have one in the back. Support for HD audio (if you have a newer motherboard). Cords are extended adequate to reach from the best slot to the USB's on the bottom of the motherboard. Does your motherboard have 3+ USB connections? You're going to need to have 1 for the card readers, 1 for 2 USB slots, and 1 for the 3rd USB slot. Definitely a FW pin and 1 available SATA for the Esata. Requires up an five 1ǚ" slot alternatively of a smaller 3.five" slot (i have 4 slot case: DVD-RW and two HDD cooler instances. So i had to stick this in the last slot with no front audio handle for my Creative soundcard) I had to take this out due to the fact i didn't have space for my front audio controls attachment from my Creative Pro soundcard. I already had two slots taken up with my HDD cooler circumstances. But i installed it into my backup computer due to the fact the Esata is so a lot faster than USB two.. I can move 4 gigs of information in significantly less than two mins instead of six mins like just before.

Simple set up, fits into CDROM bay, cables are lables clearly. the MS port is a bit to narrow so i will have to modify it with an exacto knif or anything. If you can read English and know where the port are on your MB, you can set up this device.

Cheap. Headphones, usb, and SD Card slot tested and working. At times Windows XP will quickly 'lose' and then 're-enable' the device in the 'Safely Take away Hardware' dialog when the device is not in use. My guess is it's the device and not the motherboard or os. The mounting plastic is rather low-cost, creating it hard to align the faceplate. Installed on a ASUS M3N78 PRO AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 8300 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail. I will most most likely look for a more pricey model, but it functions for now. I am now utilizing an M-AUDIO Delta 1010LT PCI Interface 10-In-10-Out PCI Virtual Studio - Retail device and so am not using the motherboard sound, nor the nMEDIAPC Headphone and Mic jacks. I have owned this device for nearly 5 months.

I got One particular USB plug to function... The card readers don't function at all...zero, zip, nada. But the USB port on the identical line performs...exciting. considering that it's all linked into the similar pc board, I'm going to guess that it's a chip problem. It's cheap, but also cheaply made. I forgot to mention that it doesn't match instances very nicely (I tried two systems, both with precisely the similar difficulties) as it tends to pivot due to the fact that there's only A single screw. I assume somebody let a junior engineer design this 1 from commence to final production, and they did a horrendous job.

Quite effortless installation. The integrated manual, if it is regarded that, was useful in a sense. It showed the common connections and how to install the device, but a rapid reference to my motherboard manual produced items alot much easier. Fantastic high quality connectors. I Really like the reality that this reader is ALL INTERNAL, ALL MOTHERBOARD connectors. Retain that in thoughts if purchasing this. You will have to have two open connections on your motherboard for USB, i.e USB1, USB2. That is the cause I purchased this distinct reader. The card readers function wonderful. The USBs function great. Don't have Firewire, but I'm confident it will operate fine as well. The bundled wires have been a small plain for me, so I wrapped them in flex tubing and electrical tape to hide them in my acrylic case. At first connection, the front audio and microphone ports did not perform. I am currently playing about with the connections to get energy by way of them. The incorporated silver replacement face plate had a broken ear, on arrival, but I did not obtain it for the silver. I wanted black. I didn't read close adequate when I bought it, but it does fill a five.25" slot and not the 3.5" that I was searching for. The installation was super straightforward, way less complicated then I believed it would be. Had to disable two USB's in the back on a PCI filler plate, to make space for the front panel. Would advocate this solution to any individual wanting further or any USB/Audio/Card readers in the front of their case.

Good searching. Lots of Media card alternatives. 1. Poor design and style for screwless instances. two. Affordable USB ports. Broke and shorted out within two weeks. 3. USB utilizes both on board internal USB ports for cards, typically producing you getting to disable any front USB ports from your Computer Case. 4. eSATA didnt perform. 5. Memory Stick did not read. This device is great if you dont have any USB ports on the front of your case (rare) or your case makes use of USB pass-by way of cables. General, be careful of the low-cost USB ports.

Reads xD and CF cards Does not read SDHC. Won't read Ridata 16GB nor Transcend 8GB cards. Each of these cards are study fine by Kingston FCR-HS219 card reader, but not this one. Bought this to read my xD, CF, mSD, and SDHC cards as a single integrated unit for 1 of the drive bays in my tower. When I known as support, they tried to inform me that the SD cards must be inserted upside down. This is false. xD cards are inserted upside down but not the SDHC cards. When I asked them to confirm this, they merely stopped responding. The manual (pamphlet) doesn't even make mention of any cards needing to be inserted upside down. You have to find out this for oneself. Horrible product, but I guess the business knows this.

It came on time, the usb ports perform{after a slight mod} and the audio ports function the MS Pro/MS Pro Duo reader worked{not positive about the other two slots lead to I don't have any of the CF or SM/XD cards /drives the SD card reader does not see any SD card { i attempted a lot of tends to make and models of SD cards such as SDHC and plain SD cards...to no avail... the usb ports did not operate proper at initially{i had to cut the orange wire on every cable connector} this was some how connected to the mother board it is a non-vital ground plane connection and poses no significant concerns when NOT connected ...other smart it seemed to ground out a interrupt on the mother board limiting the front panel to just a single pair of ports on 1 header i seriously do not recommend this product..i mean seriously unless you like to desolder a SMD micro controller and replace the beasty or figure out the odd usb internal header issues i located it is probably to be a lemon... i genuinely feel sorry for the folks that had toasted mobo's as a outcome :(
