Not my first Palit pair of cards. I have 2 machines one with 2x 8800Gt Palit Sonics and now 2x 260GTX Palit. The 260's are huge and do require 2x 6pin connectors, but they are great cards. One will suffice most users. I tend to go over board ;)

Had this card for awhile now. Really does deliver the punch when needed, no need for SLI for me has enough to get the Job done. The dual fans are a plus. When u first turn on your computer the fans are very loud but quiet down after a few seconds. And of course Its HUGE!! but I have a full tower so easy fit. Does require 2 six pin PCI Express for power so make sure u have that. It does come with one adapter so a little help their. Overall would buy again

Cons: None that I am aware of

Pros: Amazing rendering, fans keep it nice and cool, low price.
Comment:
This card is incredible, it performs just as well as other brand name cards and the dual fans are a really nice touch, I idle at 39C with full windows 7 Aero at 1900x1600 resolution, I would recommend this card to anyone.

Cons: Fairly unknown company in north america, warranty is not as good as it should be for a company looking to make a name for itself in a market with 2 year and life time warranties from people like EVGA, XFX, and BFG.Card is VERY big, 11 inchs long. makes sure you have space.

Pros: Dual fans and card design helps keep it very cool. In my hot room it idles at 40 C (33 C in a cool room). havent seen the card break 57 C yet under load (crysis, bad company 2)Factory overclocked, with even more room to overclock further.Unbeatable Price. i spent 2 months looking and debating over cards, and this was the one i went with.
Comment:
A Great overall card, very powerful and for the right price, albeit with a few small issues.Right from the start after installing my new Palit 260 Sonic card, i ran into 3 issues that i was not happy about. Maybe there are solutions for them, but they are difficult to find due to the fact that not many people have this brand.Issue 1: None of my usual system monitoring tools could see the temperature of the card. Nvidia monitor, Speedfan, CPUID, all showed either a 0 C GPU temp or didnt see my card at all. i finally found GPU-Z and that works.Issue 2: More an annoyance, but a big one for me as i watch a lot of movies/shows on my computer/TV. i use VLC player and whenever i switched to full screen(or back to windowed) mode my screen would go black for 2-3 seconds. a reboot fixed this for a short time, but its back again. i am one who leaves his comp on 24/7, i dont like having to reboot constantly to fix issues like this.Issue 3: The card does not seem to be auto switching between 3d and 2d clock settings like its supposed to. it was working the first day, but not anymore. i have installed all the latest drivers and Vtune (what a useless program IMO). This feature is supposed to cut power consumption when not running 3d apps... but the clocks stay on thier 3d settings all the time now regardless of what im doing on my comp.other than those 3 issues. The Card is working perfectly. So far i dont regret my purchase. im running a fairly old CPU (intel core duo E6300 l 1.8) so im sure it is bottlenecking my card when i play games. But im very pleased with the performance i do get.I never had any issues or problems with my last 2 cards (bfg geforce 7600 and a XFX geforce 8800GT), so im a little concerned with the above. so i guess time will tell if this was a wise purchase. Cons: Two fans = noise, but fan speed is easy to control with the bundled driver. The famous 'squeal' issue.

Pros: Powerful performance for the price. You wouldn't be able to find many games that can make this card struggle at highest settings.
Comment:
I have had this card for two weeks now. Tried extensive modeling and gaming. The performance is impressive for a $200 card.Fans are louder than single fan cards, but quiet enough. The only issue I am having is the common 'squealing' issue with relatively high-end vid cards. The conductors on the card squeals and makes electrical noise under high frame/sec environments (like when I am just on Windows)High end ATI cards resolved this issue by going all digital control, but Nvid. is still insisting on not moving away from the old way of doing things... so the squealing is not completely avoidable with these cards.Games tested are:COD: World at War 1400x900 Highest Setting with Max AANFS: Shift 1400x900 Highest Settings with Max AACS Source 1400x900 Max Settings (just for the heck of it..)Fallout 3 1400x900 Highest Pre-set SettingsPES 2010 1400x900 Max SettingsThe only game that made the card struggle was COD: WaW. Not because the card couldn't handle the game, but I really tried to stress the card by setting everything around me on fire. When completely surrounded by smoke and fire, the frame rate dropped to 15~20. Averaged 60+I tried CS Source only because I had it installed at the time. The frame rate hit 150~200.Loud and wild. Powerful and reliable. This review was modfied by poster @ 02-26-10 08:37 AM

Cons: None really,

Pros: Great value
Comment:
I've thrown everything at this card and man can it take it, I'm running all my games on a Core i5 750 system at 1920x1080 without hiccups. I definitely recommend this card for anyone who isn't up for breaking the bank but wants the best card for a budget build. It's a pretty big card so make sure you have ample room for it.

Cons: * Fan acoustics not improved* Voltage controller does not allow software control* Clock frequencies not reduced in idle

Pros: * Overclocked out of the box* Great performance, close to GTX 280* Additional overclocking possible* Dual fan cooler* Support for CUDA / PhysX* Red PCB
Comment:
Palit's custom designed GTX 260 Sonic can deliver easily when it comes to performance. Being overclocked out of the box it already has a healthy advantage over the reference design GTX 260 216 shader cards. If you are planning to beat the GeForce GTX 280 - no problem. Just overclock the card a bit more, which is easy since there is plenty of overclocking headroom left. However, die hard overclockers may want to stick with the reference design since those cards employ a voltage regulator made by Volterra. Recently it has been discovered that these cards can be softmodded to run at higher voltages. The Realtek voltage regulator on the Palit GTX 260 Sonic does not allow that.Palit's choice to go with a dual fan design certainly sounds attractive to the overclockers who only care about performance and are less concerned with the fan noise. Compared to the reference design GTX 260, the fans are running a bit louder. If you are willing to manually adjust fan speeds via software you can easily turn down the fan quite a bit and run at high speeds during overclocking.Overall the Palit GeForce GTX 260 Sonic 216 SP is a worthy alternative if you are looking for a non-reference design card. Cons: I can't think of any.

Pros: Dual custom made fans, HDMI port for my HDTV, runs really quiet after you load the drivers.
Comment:
This has been one of the best video card that I have purchased. So far it's running fairly silent with my core i7 cpu systems. Approved. -UPDATE- I forgot to mention that this card is overclock-able! This review was modfied by poster @ 12-29-09 11:43 AM
