This is one hell of a Tablet. I've never been a fan of Apple, and have always found 10" Tablets to be too cumbersome for someone who travels a lot. This 7" Nexus is perfect. It's light, fast and an excellent E-reader, which is the primary reason I bought it.

I've owned an iPad 2 for a couple months now and all I could think was jeez, this thing is big, heavy and annoying. It also seems artificially limited in its functionality thanks to Apple's jailboxed policies.I was most frustrated by the extreme difficulty in getting movies onto the device. This was my biggest reason to switch to the Nexus 7.I've had my Nexus 7 a couple days and all I can say is I'm so glad I made the switch. I am a little disappointed the quality of apps in the Android store for tablets. The Nexus 7 is very popular yet many apps just look like garbage on it. I find myself sticking to mobile websites over apps for the most part.My other disappointment rests with the speaker. It's not great. The iPad's speaker I could watch a movie without any trouble at moderate volumes. I find with any ambient noise it's quite difficult to watch a movie on the Nexus 7 without headphones. The iPad's speaker faces downwards which is preferable to the rear facing Nexus speaker. All in all though, I'm happy with my purchase.

Easily modded but vanilla android is still good. Very smooth UI thanks to Android 4.1, updated to 4.2 now even better. Highly recommended.

I have got this product the day it was avaible at a local contest and i'm more then satisfied with it. For some reason, not the fault of the product, some tablet app are hard to use with a small screen like this. I have big fingers so somethimes it's frustrating. The nexus 10" will be for sure the best deal for me and for other big fingers guys. ;)

It's been 2 month since i bought this and i am very happy so far. I never tried any tablet besides a ipad and this tablet runs as smooth or smoother as a ipad i recommend it to everyone its just perfect and easy to use. There's a reason why apple decided to make an ipad mini and i think it's because of this tablet

I've had this thing for a minute and it is easily one of the best devices for everyday use I've ever had. As a user with an android samsung galaxy phone, a work iphone, an ipad, a desktop, and a laptop, the nexus 7 has replaced nearly every one of these items as my first option. It is just the best thing to read with. Emails, ebooks, websites, thechive, manga, sports fantasy team websites, it is just one of the most comfortable things to carry around and read on.It is definitely way better than pulling out what now feels like a massive 10in ipad. Obviously there are other tablets with better performance, or specs, or any number of features. However at this price bracket, its a no-brainer. Best tablet of its kind, and will alter  lives.

Cons: - Tethering/reverse-tethering is not supported unless you root it- Android: buggy/glitchy; many apps won't work until updated, because it's a tablet/Jelly Bean; experienced lag on homescreen for a while, which magically went away.- Speakers could be better- Really wish it came with 3G/4G/LTE- No camera app...need to get from Google Play

Pros: - Android Jelly Bean (+ any later updates because it's a Nexus)- ASUS build quality (all but the first batch, apparently)- Great screen- Great price- Nice form factor - fits in my pockets (albeit tight)
Comment:
This is my first Android, and first tablet. I decided I would finally give Android a go, so I figured I'd get a Nexus 7 since it's the cheapest and most upgradeable (since it's a Nexus) Android out right now. Coming from Windows Phone 7.5, and everything else Windows, this Android tablet is surprisingly nice to use; that is until you start noticing the unpolished-ness of it all. For a phone, I'd much rather stick with WP7(8) for its fluid, slick, polished, efficient and rock-solid OS. I found far more nagging issues with this device than I did with my two WP7's so far. But back to this tablet...I've experienced slow downs in the weirdest situations where there really is nothing that should slow the thing down (like the home screen, with hardly any widgets). The home screen (launcher) even crashes on occasion, along with many other apps I've tried, which is just frustrating. Most of the time though, it's a very responsive and smooth tablet. One nagging issue is the fact that many apps won't run on Android tablets, or Jelly Bean for that matter (they need to be updated). Another oddity is that there is no camera app installed from the start...and the one I've downloaded doesn't use the camera's full potential (480p instead of 720p). Finally, one thing that won't bother most is that you natively can't reverse-tether with this, meaning you can't get internet from your computer through USB (needed when WiFi is unavailable but Ethernet is, or when WiFi is locked down to only specific computers, like at work). With my WP7, I just install Zune, and plug the phone in by USB...done. With the Nexus 7 or any other Android, you need to jump through hoops to get the device to do this. I'll likely dig into this eventually, but at this point I'm not going to bother.Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised by this tablet and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice cheap Android tablet for games and apps. It's fast, games well, and there's plenty of apps to satisfy your needs (moreso than WP7, which is welcomed). All the Google services play fairly well together, and if you're looking to try Android for the first time like me, either get this now or wait for the next iteration of it. It's a satisfying experience in the end, and is certainly worth the low price. This review was modfied by poster v 10-19-12 12:51 PM This review was modfied by poster @ 10-19-12 12:13 PM

This tablet has good design especially the back and its small which means you can carry it whenever you like not like the ipad, its heavy. It dosen['t that big screen for people love to watch movies but it is good for student and white collar to work and send email. I love this tablet although I already have ipad but its much cheaper!!!!! Compare with the ipad, this tablet has good price and it is useful for every kinds of people and its goole system! Comment:
First tablet and I am impressed. Everything is buttery smooth and fast. Jellybean is great, but I'm not too fond of the phone UI. The lack of a microsd slot is also a bit inconvenient, but the two minor flaws can be easily fixed with custom roms. Other than that, the Nexus 7 is an amazing device at a great price.

I have been testing out the Nexus 7 and overall I'm very satisfied with this device. Here are my thoughts:-The first thing I notice after using the Nexus 7 is that the glass is not very slippery and degrades greatly the user experience.-The display however is very sharp and vibrant.-It is running a mobile UI, I don't know why the Nexus 7 doesn't come with a tablet UI, considering the size of its display.-The sound is not very loud, and doesn't have any bass at all-Battery life is kinda disappointing, I use it for skype calls a lot and one charge isn't enough to get me through the day-The nexus 7 can handle any graphic intensive games I throw at it-I does feel very grippy in hand unlike many other tablets-I like the form factor, way more convenient than a full size tabletThis little gadget does not run out of stock without reason, its definitely a must-have, but battery life is the main issue keeping me from getting the most out of it.

Have had no problems with it and enjoying every moment I use it! Don't really care that it doesn't have a back camera... I'd feel kinda silly taking a picture with a tablet. I don't really mind not being able to add extra storage space but it would be nice if there was an option to.
